HIGH FLYER (Verdant String) by Michelle Diener – Review by Finn Cunningham

High Flyer (Verdant String, #4)High Flyer by Michelle Diener
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

High Flyer by Michelle Diener is the fourth book in the Verdant String series but can be read as a stand alone! I was not aware this was the fourth book until i picked it up, but it was still great nonetheless! I have never been a big fan of sci-fi adventures but i absolutely gobbled this one up in one sitting! Michelle Diener weaves a fast paced tale with all sorts of emotional rollar coasters with everything from betrayal, to adventure, all just all around drama! I certainly loved this book, and I will definitely go back to read the first three and i recommend you do too! I can not wait to see more from this author!

Distant Heart Sounds (Nurse Morgan Series Book 1) by Kate MacInnis – Review by Tehreem Tahir

Distant Heart SoundsDistant Heart Sounds by Kate MacInnis
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book is about a woman called Morgan who gains an odd ability to see ghosts after she undergoes a brain surgery.

I really enjoyed this book! It was really realistic and the majority of Morgan’s responses were how an ordinary person would react with ghosts and other traumatic things occurring, which I really appreciated! I really liked the writing style and I loved Savannah, the best friend, as well as the other people who worked at the hospital she worked at.

I would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants to read something paranormal but doesn’t want to be scared! It’s not a horror or thriller so it’s more accessible, in my opinion, to a wide variety of readers. The last chapter was slightly rushed, in my opinion, and although I was satisfied with the ending, I did want more. Although, it is the first in a series so maybe that’s why it stops where it does.

That Incredible Kiss (Kissed By Fate 3) By Tamara Ferguson – Review by Katie Matthews

THAT INCREDIBLE KISS (Kissed By Fate Book 3)THAT INCREDIBLE KISS by Tamara Ferguson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I think it’s fair to say I don’t even bother reading the synopsis for the books now by Ms Ferguson, I just grab it and settle down for what I know is going to be a wonderful read and as expected this was just that. I love how even after so many great stories everyone feels so new, nothing is repeated, no storyline is the same and every character is unique but they are always likeable and relatable.
Ashley and Brian’s story was heart-warming to read, a perfect second chance romance. When they reunited after some time apart I could just tell that they were prefect for each other, their connection was sweet and genuine. I was definitely lost in their story and was rooting for them the whole way through.
As always I highly recommend this and any book by this author, I am never disappointed by her writing and would definitely urge people who haven’t picked up on of her many books to do so!!

Rock Star on the Verge (Rogue Series Book 9) by Lara Ward Cosio – Review by Katie Matthews

Rock Star on the Verge (Rogue Series #9)Rock Star on the Verge by Lara Ward Cosio
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I was so excited to see a new release from this author and addition to this fantastic series, I have loved every single book, the whole series has been an emotional rollercoaster and I love the second generation coming through now with their own stories.
I loved this book, reading about Conor again was just amazing – I loved him from the start and still do now and reading about him alongside Donal and their journey was brilliant. I was hooked from beginning to end; Lara Ward Cosio puts so much into her writing, the detail, and the explanations everything. I loved the connection that Conor and Donal had both at a junction in their lives – it was great to see them coming together to help each other out.
I am gutted that this this final book in the series but all good things must come to an end and I think she has definitely outdone herself with this conclusion. I honestly recommend this story and series so much – I have loved it from beginning to end!

Secure Heart (Chase Security Series #3)
By R.L. Dunn
5 out of 5 stars

I loved reading the book Secure Heart (Chase Security Series #3) by R.L. Dunn. It is a story that once I started, I was hooked. I love the characters of Julian “Smooth” Dupart and Holly Dupree Morrison. Julian is a man who has taken the helm at Chase Securities branch in San Diego. He has discovered problems that include substandard care of patients. He is a man who works hard and because of the past doesn’t easily let anyone into his heart. Then he meets Holly. Holly is an amazing singer whose whole life revolves around her music and her daughter, Sadie. She has found herself in need of a security team. She then meets Julian. Both Julian and Holly find themselves in the path of danger. Will those who wish them harm be caught? Will Julian let Holly and Sadie into his heart? Read this book to find out. I love that Holly is a strong and independent woman. She also realizes when she needs help and finds herself putting more and more trust in Julian. I grew to care about Julian, Holly, and Sadie with each chapter that I read. I wanted them to find happiness. This story had me on the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen next. There are also romantic moments. The author does an amazing job of writing a story with characters that come alive and that you can root for their success. Don’t miss out on this wonderful book. You won’t be able to put it down.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

5 stars!

Such a fun read. I really enjoyed this story and the period that was portrayed. The characters were all really nicely written and the storyline flowed nicely, I was never bored and couldn’t stop reading. I always feel sad for characters that have arranged marriages, some cases it works out nicely, but in Bridget’s case it did not. I was devastated for her when her ship was seized by pirates and they killed off the entire crew except her, and then she gets rescued by the wonderful Valan. You can tell throughout the story that there is real chemistry between Valan and Bridget. Bridget is so sweet to fall in love with Valan only to leave him to fulfill her promise to her clan to marry the laird Rodrick. I liked the the evil that was placed in this story in the form of the greedy Rodrick. Fighting through some trials together, find out if Bridget and Valan can truly be together. The ending was sweet, steamy, and surprising. This is my first book by this author and after reading this one, I can’t wait to see what else Mrs. Siddoway has to offer.

I loved this sweet little romance. There’s a little bit of heartbreak but there’s also music and banter. I really connected to the characters and emotions of the story. I do love a Scottish character. This ‘opposites attract’ storyline is flirty, passionate and full of chemistry, and the pacing was perfect. An easy read.

I liked that the author was able to pull me in and and kept me interested throughout the entire book. The main characters are what made this book a great one though! I enjoyed this sports romance story. This is a well written story that has characters that made me feel as if I was right there with them. I had no issues connecting with them as they brought the story to life. They are well rounded which made the story easy to read and entertaining. Hunter wants nothing more than to prove that there is more to him than just ranching. Kennedy is out to prove that females can be just as strong in a male dominated world. When their worlds come crashing together, what will happen? Could one article change things for them? I enjoyed watching them grow throughout the story. They are strong and supportive and truly made great characters. I could easily imagine myself with them. This is not my first book by this author but it is one of my favorites. I highly recommend this book and this author.

I enjoyed this book. It is the third book in this series. I highly suggest reading the previous books in this series as they are just as enjoyable as this one. This is a second chance romance story that is fast paced and engaging. The characters are well developed and are full of heart and soul. They bring the story to life and really made it pop. I had no problems connecting with them with each page I turned. I was pulled into the story with ease from the beginning to end. This story is about Julian and Holly. Julian is a widow and former Navy Seal and is in charge of running Chase Group in San Diego. Holly is an artist who seems to get involved with the wrong men. She also has a stalker who wants to kill her. What will happen when she hires Chase Security? Will Julian be able to protect them? This story is full of action and romance. I enjoyed their chemistry and watching them grow throughout the story. I had a hard time putting their story down and I think you will too. I highly recommend their story and this author.

Distant Heart SoundsDistant Heart Sounds by Kate MacInnis
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Distant Heart Sounds was a pleasant surprise! I’ll be the first to admit that paranormal anything is not my normal genre. It took me a minute to get into the story, but I immediately liked the characters, especially Morgan and her co-workers/friends in the EC.

Morgan Cutler is a long time career nurse in the EC of the Good Sam hospital. She doesn’t have any family left, but has made her own family. After a very serious and life changing surgery, she has found that some aspects of her life are very different. Lucky for Morgan her friends and the new doctor on the floor are very accepting and intrigued.

I really enjoyed this novel. The writing was wonderful and the characters very fun! I am hoping there is more to come for Nurse Morgan Cutler!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I’ll See You Again is the 4th book in the Reigning Hearts series by KG Fletcher, but it can be enjoyed as a stand alone book. Each book is it’s own story and from what I remember of the other books, I don’t think the characters overlap. This book is an opposite’s attract romance book about a Scottish rockstar and a small town wedding planner. They are complete opposites and I was happy to see them both able to pursue their dreams despite being on totally different paths when they meet. I love the theme of the book, and the characters. It is a sweet romantic, love at first sight book. There is some happy parts and some really sad parts, so be prepared with kleenex for this roller coaster ride. The book has a happily ever after, but it takes a bit to get there. I highly recommend this book, and all by KG Fletcher. Her books pull you right in and you wont want to put it down.

The Dating Itinerary by Brooke Williams

I don’t even know where to start with my thoughts on this book. I loved Penny and her relationship with her sisters. They seem to have an incredibly close bond which I envy. The dynamic between the four woman made me smile, even if it wasn’t the full set.

Geo melted my heart for so many reasons, I think the biggest was his relationship with his nephew who sounded like a handful and then some. He has such a soft spot for Eliot and his sister Maggie.

I enjoyed watching their relationship evolve throughout the book. And could wait to see where their next adventure led. I laughed a lot and cried just a bit.

This is my first time reading anything by Ms. Williams, but it certainly won’t be the last.

Perfect AlwaysPerfect Always by Tricia Copeland
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I have loved Copeland’s writing for a while and when I saw she was coming out with another “Perfect” tale I knew I had to read it. I was most definitely not disappointed. Chloe is a really fun character to read and connect to. The ever popular small town vs big city debate certainly plays a large role in this storyline. But overall it comes down to what the heart wants and who the heart wants. Copeland’s characters always have a way of sneaking in and grabbing my attention. This book will be one I will go back to enjoy many times over. Thank you so much, Ms. Copeland!

Another nail biter from Dunn! I really appreciate how she weaves suspense with romance while being respectful of both genres. Her books are written in such a way as they can be read and enjoyed as standalone. However I enjoy seeing the depth of the Chase agency and finding how each character introduced works within the ranks. Each story delves into a new characters and new situation. This book has a surprising small town feel with all sorts of unexpected drama and risk. I loved Elizabeth and felt an immediate pull to her. Loved this book and look forward to reading the next in the series.

Secure Again (Chase Security Series Book 2)Secure Again by R.L. Dunn
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I thoroughly enjoyed this second book in R.L. Dunn’s ‘Chase Security Series’, this was former Navy SEAL and CEO of Chase Security International Martin Bailey and Dr. Elizabeth Reed’s Story. High school sweethearts Martin and Elizabeth meet again when Martin (Marty) has to return home when his brother, Austin who is a Sergeant with the Silverton PD is shot in the line of duty. Elizabeth is the trauma surgeon in Silverton who treats Martin. Elizabeth notices a pattern of suspicious injuries that our occurring to prisoners at the local jail and wants to uncover what is happening. When she suspects that Austin’s injuries are also linked to the suspected prisoner abuse her and Marty work together to investigate. Whilst investigating Elizabeth and Marty find themselves in a complicated web of drugs, human trafficking, illicit porn, and prisoner abuse. As their feelings for each other are rekindled the couple find themselves in danger and they work alongside the members of Chase Security to solve the mystery before any more lives are lost.
Another exciting and action packed story by Dunn, which can be read as a standalone story or as part of the series. It’s not just a second chance at love romance but it is also a crime mystery story with plenty of suspense and drama. The storyline had me hooked from start to finish and the plot twists kept me guessing whilst the narrative made the book flow nicely. I loved the main characters, Martin and Elizabeth who were both very relatable and I enjoyed how their romance was rekindled and developed throughout the story. The book is recommended for over 18’s due to its adult content. This novel also dealt with some dark issues from drug abuse to human trafficking but it also has some lighter moments and the characters really bought the whole story together. I look forward to the next book in the series.

High Flyer (Verdant String, #4)High Flyer by Michelle Diener
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is a fast paced science fiction story. I was not familiar with Michelle Diener. Her imagery painted a beautiful picture in my mind’s eye. The story is full of action and adventure. The characters are engaging and full of zeal. There is not a dull moment with constant moving between scenes that is happening. The content is sci-fi, action, adventure, fantasy, and romance. Hana flys the head-of-planet around and is a challenge that she loves. Iver does not think that he did not gain the role of head-of-planet. He is up to the challenge of making the tech work with the magnetic fields on Faldien. Iver has his eyes wet on Hana but does Hana feel the same way? There is trouble coming for Iver. Will the trouble be too great for him? Will Hana help him with the danger? Can she keep running with Iver to keep them safe? Secure Desire (Chase Security Series Book 1) by R.L. Dunn – Review by Jennifer Gordon

Secure Desire (Chase Security Series Book 1)Secure Desire by R.L. Dunn
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Secure Desire is book one in R.L.Dunn’s new series, the ‘Chase Security Series’ and follows Ian and Kieran, the Chase brothers and their team of former Navy SEALS and other military officers. This story follows Ian and whether he and FBI agent Cassie, who specialises in stolen art get a second chance at love. Navy SEAL Lieutenant Commander Ian Chase and his brother resumed control of their private security company and the rest of their international conglomerate, Chase Group, following a last brutal tour in Afghanistan. Ian and Cassie meet whilst she is undercover at a charity function but they had in fact already met six years earlier. Unfortunately the same night she met Ian was the night she experienced an awful trauma and seeing him again stirs up not only the feelings she had for him but also memories of that awful time. Meanwhile Ian also has feelings for Cassie but knows nothing of the trauma she has been through. Repressing her memories had actually kept Cassie safe but once her enemies realise she is remembering they act quickly to attempt to stop her talking. Ian has to keep Cassie safe, however she remains reluctant to share her past with him which may prevent them having a future together.
This was much more than just another second chance at romance story it was fast paced and action packed. The plot had plenty going on in it to keep me happily turning the pages and it had me hooked from page one. The storyline has drama, suspense, mystery and of course romance. The story flows nicely and the characters are well defined and relatable. I was fully immersed in the storyline and felt well connected to the main characters. I enjoyed the romance aspect between Ian and Cassie and after all they go through during the story I was hoping they would get their happy ever after. I look forward to some of the background characters getting their own stories in future books in this series.

Neither Valan or Bridget can deny the instant attraction they feel for each other or ignore the chemistry. Valan must reconsider his vow of bachelorhood and Bridget must decide whether to carry on with her marriage or continue her adventures with a pirate. I loved all the diverse characters in the story from Valan and Bridget to the pirate crew. I liked how the chemistry between Valan and Bridget sizzled off the page. I found that the plot was action packed and I was hooked from page one. Due to the authors detailed descriptions I really felt immersed in the story and ‘life at sea’ was really bought to life.

Perfect AlwaysPerfect Always by Tricia Copeland
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I enjoyed this contemporary romance which saw our independent and sassy heroine Chloe have a dilemma between staying in her small town with her childhood sweetheart or leave for the big city. Chloe and rancher Adam have been dating since high school and have even continued a long distance relationship when Chloe left for a job in the city. Chloe is unhappy that Adam has made plans for them both to move into his family’s ranch without taking into account Chloe’s dreams of a successful career in the city. So, when she meets city boy Isaac, Chloe can see a very different future for herself. Having ended her relationship with Adam, Chloe starts dating professional basketball player Isaac. However when his career and an opportunity for an internship for her send them in different directions, this new relationship becomes complicated. With Adam on her mind Chloe has to decide where and with who her heart lies. This was a wonderful book to read, the storyline flowed and the characters were likeable and relatable. I really felt for Chloe and her dilemma and wanted her to get her happy ever after. A heartwarming read, perfect for an afternoons escapism.

Distant Heart Sounds (Nurse Morgan Series Book 1) by Kate MacInnis – Review by Liz Vrchota

Distant Heart SoundsDistant Heart Sounds by Kate MacInnis
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I was excited to see what Distant Heart Sounds was all about as soon as I read the blurb. I felt like this could be a fun twist on a medical drama romance and it for sure was! The characters drew me in from the very first page. I love Morgan Cutler, our MC, and following her journey as she began to understand her new life post major surgery. The drama and supporting characters really was gripping and kept me on the edge of my seat as I followed along with them in the Good Sam Hospital emergency department. I loved the extra layer of paranormal and felt like this was the perfect way to get myself in a Halloween/spooky season mindset. I look forward to seeing what the other books in this series will bring, especially after finding out this will continue to bring us more of nurse Morgan!

The Body Collector (Bad Boys of Space Book 3) by Landra Graf – Review by Kerry Baker

The Body Collector (Bad Boys of Space, #3)The Body Collector by Landra Graf
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The Body Collector by Landra Graf is the third book in the Bad Boys of Space series. This book can be read as a stand-alone m.
This book is a great story – it felt fun and exciting throughout. Although it was shorter than I had expected it felt like quite a lot happens in the book without it being rushed. The characters were really interesting. The relationship between them felt real and believable. This definitely helped make it even easier to connect with them and the story as a whole.
This is the only book I have read in this series but I will be making sure I go back to read the previous 2. A great book and one I thoroughly enjoyed.

I’ll See You Again: A Scottish rock star, standalone opposites-attract romance (Reigning Hearts Book 4) by K.G. Fletcher – Review by Kandy Garrett

I'll See You Again (Reigning Hearts, #4)I’ll See You Again by K.G. Fletcher
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

There is something to be said with the way this author writes. She has such a way of describing her characters that make it so real and a way of breaking your heart while putting it back together a little bit stronger then how it started. Once again I was blown away by the story and the emotions throughout this entire book. I haven’t read all of this series, but I will be backtracking to catch up with the others in this spectacular story line.
