A Terrible Beauty (Fallen Eagles MC Book 1)A Terrible Beauty by T. Birmingham
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A Terrible Beauty (Fallen Eagles MC Book 1) by T. Birmingham is a second chance romance that is not pretty and not your normal MC story, it is a story of a MC that is a family of veterans. It is a story of the horrors of war that has affected the lives of so many. It shows how vile some people can be.

Whilst no longer part of the war but still a victim, Kit is broken and is forced to finally face her past face to face. A past that has haunted her for years. A past that has destroyed lives.

It is a fast paced story that is hard to read some of the scenes but I thoroughly enjoyed it and I devoured it easily in one sitting. This story will leave you with a heartache but also a warm heart but beware there will be tears. The story is so powerful it had me engrossed to the very end. T. Birmingham is a great storyteller and her characters are easily enchanting with their quirks and all, and your emotions match theirs as we journey along this tough and sh*tty road with them.

A TERRIBLE BEAUTY (FALLEN EAGLES MC SERIES – BOOK 1) BY T. Birmingham – Review By Melissa Agena

A Terrible Beauty (Fallen Eagles MC Book 1)A Terrible Beauty by T. Birmingham
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

So not what I thought it was going to be. But I am not disappointed at all! A Terrible Beauty is the first book in the Fallen Eagles MC Series by T. Birmingham. Typical MC series are men only clubs. This one has both men and women, which I was happily surprised. All of the club members are former military and some have even served together. Summer “Kit” was captured and held for 30 hours along with Hammond. What happened during that time was a horror no one wants to ever happen. That happened 10 years ago. They have kept that secret from mostly everyone. Kit was supposed to be with Hammond’s brother Leland or Lee. Hammond is married to Kit’s older sister Autumn. The secret between Kit and Hammond has damaged their relationships. As well as the love story between Kit and Lee redevelops throughout the book there is also a mystery that is going on. Someone is trying to sabotage the families of returning military men and women from war. Now that person is targeting Kit, Hammond and Casper. Casper was also with them during the capture. There are so many ups and downs as well as twists and turns. It was an emotional rollercoaster as well. I absolutely adored this book! I cannot wait for the next book in the series. It is no wonder that this author is an International Best Selling Author!

Written in the Stars (Fallen Eagles MC Series (Romantic Suspense, Military Romance) Book 2) – Review by Maura Harper

Written in the Stars (Fallen Eagles MC Book 2)Written in the Stars by T. Birmingham
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

WRITTEN IN THE STARS is book 2 in the “Fallen Eagle MC Series”. While I think it can be read as a stand-alone, there are a few threads carried from the first book so I think it would be a richer reading experience if you can read in order.

Like TERRIBLE BEAUTY this story is a romantic suspense that is full of great characters, well defined plot points and a style of writing that took me on the journey with Winter and Eagle (I’m not on a date with him, so can’t call him Davis). The story moves quickly and held my interest from start to finish.

Part of the story line in WRITTEN IN THE STARS can be tough to read but I think the author did a great job of keeping it real without glossing it over. I’ve read books with same subject matter that either made it so grizzly it seemed unrealistic or so shiny that it made it more romance than what it was.

This series has a good balance of suspense vs romance and I appreciate that everyone’s strength is highlighted regardless of gender “norms”.

This is absolutely a “one-click” author for me and I absolutely recommend this series.

My Rating: 5 of 5 stars

Written in the Stars (Fallen Eagles MC Book 2) by T. Birmingham was an addicting read that will hook you from start to finish.

My First read by this author, I went in blind and man am I happy I did, well I have one regret, I regret not reading the first book. Though this can be read as a standalone, you can tell there are overlapping characters and things from that first book that would have helped me in this one in regards to character development and background. So don’t be like me and get that first book.

This book is more than a romance, it has a spine tingly murder mystery that plays quiet the roll, it’s actually the opening scene. Telling you right away that this book isn’t going to be light hearted. That alone pulled me in hard, and hooked me. I love me a good thriller and this book delivered. It not only gives you dark mystery, it gives you a serial killer to chase, as well as a growing love stories that somehow gets intertangled in it. This story has a little bit of everything, with rich, engaging writing and lush detail, you will get trapped in this stunningly real world that T. Birmingham has created.

Overall, and if you haven’t guessed, this book gets my super high recommendation and my stamp of approval.

Happy Reading

A Terrible Beauty is the first book in the Fallen Eagles MC series. It can be read as a standalone.

It took me a couple of chapters to get into the book, but once it got going, it kept up a good pace. A Terrible Beauty deals with issues that may trigger some readers. There were a few parts that made me tear up, so you might want to have some tissues nearby, just in case.

One quote from the book that stood out to me:
“Just as the road to hell was paved with good intentions, so too, sometimes, the path toward ‘beauty’ was paved with all that was ‘terrible’ and ‘ugly’ in the world.”

WOW!! This is my 3rd read by this author…Its been awhile since I have picked up the other 2 books and I totally forgot just how much I love this author. This book had me completely hooked and as I was reading I found myself going back to make sure I had every single detail correct. When I finished I had to go back and look at my reviews for the other 2 and was not surprised that those 2 books completely blew me away as well.

This story was outstanding and I went in knowing it was an MC story but so impressed at how different this author treated this MC, it’s not like any other I have ever read, and although I will always love my MC books I also love the direction this author went. A few scenes were hard to read and I found myself flinching and would have definitely closed my eyes had I been watching these scenes on TV, but I fell head over heels for these characters and Kits story about broke me and Lee listening to it was so emotional, I had tears more than once and there was a twist to this book that came right out of left field, had no clue and was absolutely not expecting it.

I’m not going into any more details about the story itself, it needs to be read to fully appreciate it and I can not wait to dive in to book 2. Take my advice and read this story, better yet read all of this author’s stories…They are amazing and although I can’t put into words what it is about the style of writing I can say I love love love it!!

Now..onto book 2…..

Rated 5 stars!!

When I first started this I didn’t think I would be very excited to read it. It deals with a younger woman and an older man and those are usually not my romances that I care for. But I am pleasantly surprised at this story.
These two characters we met in the last book and each one has had their own battles, maybe not all visible ones, but they are still there. How they learn to overcome and move forward is a definite journey I was glad to take with them.

I loved reading Eagle/Davis and Winter’s story! I can *feel* their attraction, interest and love for each other. That first kiss between the two of them was so freaking H-O-T. Then I had to giggle a little as Casper showed up and put his own spin and two cents into the mix Ha ha ha! Sexiness mixed with some humor! My fav! I also loved that Eagle/Davis’ seems so enraptured by Winter. It makes me in awe of him. His thoughts…his gestures for her are all are so…soo amazing. He truly gets her! On all levels! The whole “Witchy” thing and the way Eagle thinks she is magical. Genius!! I loved all terms he uses in reference to “witches “ but describing Winter. It is soooo sweet!

My fav line:

“You’re bewitching, babe. Everything about you is like magic”.

This is the second in the series and I can not wait for the next one! I have grown to love this crew. The writing was mostly smooth and easy to read. There is an element of danger that threw me off for a bit but when it all comes together..Blew my mind!!!

Man I’m stunned. This author had me rethinking life on some levels. I felt Kit’s pain like it was my own. I’m confused on how she survived or lived with the guilt and pain. Then the other characters roles. Man the author had me emotional. I love a great MC book and this one is at the top. I’m still not sure if I read what I read lol. I love how the author brought this boom together. You definitely get a little bit of everything in this story. The bonds of family are strong when you stick together blood or no blood.

A Terrible Beauty is the first book in the Fallen Eagles MC series is written by T. Birmingham and it’s the first book that I have read by this author. The characters are well written and I love how real this author made them real. The plot was great even if a little sad.

They’re patrons of the community, the protectors of veterans and townsfolk alike, and a motley group of world military-trained men and women. And their small town and the Philadelphia area aren’t afraid to call on the varied skills of this rough and ready crew to help out on a case or two.
Ten years ago, Kit Markham left her high school sweetheart, Lee Devereaux, behind to serve her country. She is not the same woman who returns she is just a shadow of her former self. The only things that help are her veteran MC, the Fallen Eagles, her family, and long, quiet rides on the back of Lee’s bike.
Lee has his own share of war wounds, and struggles but none worse than the burden he’s taken on to see that the Kit he once knew finds herself again. He can’t seem to find the girl he loved she is keeping secrets and he is tired of being kept in the dark.
Now local soldiers, veterans, and their families start getting threats from a team of blackmailers, Kit’s shocking history is revealed. A twist that has Lee reeling and wondering if what they once had is even salvageable.
Will Kit finally tell Lee her secrets or will Lee have enough and walk away? You need to read this story to find out.

Romance, Veterans and suspense is what you will find in this series.

Summer, aka Kit has served her country and has come home. She has he family at home as well as in the MC club. But her healing has just begun. There will be many triggers and even more support. Blackmail is just one of the many things going on with her at this moment.

Lee absolutely loves Kit. But she is not the same woman he remembers. His goal is to find the Summer he loves. But he too will have to fight to get her back. He will stand by her and be her support.

T. Birmingham has taken on this veteran series. I look forward to see where this adventure will lead us. Her novella is just the beginning for this MC club. Her book is a real page turner and gets your blood pumping at the start. I love her characters, they are set in a world we can all relate to.Bring on book 2 T. Birmingham.

I’ve read (and love) this author’s “Wild Beast” series and was not sure what to expect in am M/C series. It was great.

This is a great introduction to a new series and I’m completely invested in it already. The world building is spot on, secondary characters are intriguing, set up to events in past and present tense is brilliant and overall a great story.

This is a shorter book than I thought it would be yet the ending is not rushed. One of the things I loved about this story, is the equality among the sexes. Women and men are treated as equals both in club positions and strength of character.

I’m giving this 5 stars and would go higher if I could.

Written in the stars is the second book in the Fallen Eagles MC series by T. Birmingham. I really enjoyed the first book in this series, so I couldn’t wait to discover more of the stories and characters. This book is a fantastic romantic suspense- with danger, a serial killer, intrigue, gripping developments, drama, and so much more. I was hooked from the very first page and read it all in one evening, because I had to know how things would play out. This book is definitely my favourite of the series, so far.
There are a lot of characters, a lot of detail, and a lot going on- but Ms. Birmingham has managed to keep everything flowing smoothly and easily. The story is clever, and really well done. The characters are all fully developed individuals with their own personalities- and all add to the whole storyline, and reading experience.
I loved Eagle and Winter- that they were so different, yet fit perfectly together. Winter is Kit’s younger sister (Book #1), and there is a lot more to her than people realise, and it isn’t what anyone would guess. It was very easy to connect with her and Eagle and get invested in their story.
But this book is more like two stories in one, as there is a suspense/thriller playing out at the same time. Both woven together brilliantly and seamlessly. As there is a bridging storyline and recurring characters in this book, I really recommend reading the first book before beginning on this one- as having every detail will elevate this whole reading experience for you.
I can’t wait to continue the excitement- bring on book #3!!

Thank you, Ms. Birmingham!

I have to start with the gorgeous cover of this book first and foremost. Sometimes the most simplestated covers are the ones that stand out the most. The contrast of the bright purple flower against the black background grabbed my attention, along with the title, and had me hooked into buying this book without even knowing what it was about. I am glad that I went in blind and was treated to a new and delicious new treat. Not only was T. Birmingham a new author, so I have a new author to add to my TBR list, but I also now have a new series to follow as this is the first book of the Fallen Eagles MC Series. There was so much packed into this short and well crafted second chance romance that it is hard to believe that it was just a mere 154 pages. I felt the gambit of emotions, from knee buckling sadness to giddy joy, and that is everything you could ever want in a romance novel. I can’t wait to see what will come next for this series and in the other novels available from T. Birmingham.

A Terrible Beauty is the first book in the Fallen Eagles MC series by T. Birmingham. This is a novella length book, with a wounded warrior/MC romance. There is quite a lot happening in a small space, but Ms. Birmingham handles it all beautifully. It feels like a much longer book, without feeling rushed or lacking in parts. It has quite a complex storyline which has been cleverly crafted into a very engaging and captivating story.
The story has emotion, drama, some suspense, and romance. There were moments of heartache, comradery, community, friendship, and tension- as well as moments that were truly heartfelt. This is definitely a character driven storyline and I enjoyed meeting these interesting, likeable and fully developed individuals.
The story has a great pace and is a quick and easy read. I can’t wait to dive into the rest of this series.

Thank you, Ms. Birmingham!

I loved the idea of this book. A female former military who has PTSD? You don’t read that everyday. So I was intrigued. The story was good but couldn’t connect with the characters. I had a hard time keeping my focus. I’m not sure what it was but the story didn’t seem to flow easily. I did get through it fairly quickly. The idea of what these prisoners of war endured and then dealing with the aftermath was thought provoking. How can they cope functioning normal again? What about the big secret that the characters have been hiding all these years? When it comes to light who will be left standing?

I did wonder at the name of the book. A Terrible Beauty….I understand now and how well it’s a perfect title for this book. The characters did grow and had as many ups as they do downs. A couple of the characters started out very rough. Reliving the war. Dealing with everyday life. There were quite a few nice lessons about learning how to live with yourself and becoming better, smarter and stronger. I did enjoy the little bantering about Harley’s and Triumph’s that the two main characters did. As well as the names of the Markham daughters! This does have a nice romantic angle between a few of the characters. They all seem to be connected from their past and their present.

I will be checking out the second book in the series.

A Terrible Beauty by T. Birmingham is the first book in the Fallen Eagles MC series. This book is not a lighthearted book and the warnings are fairly accurate. However this book is also entirely worth the dark path it takes you down.
This story is designed to utterly suck you body and soul into this story. You can clearly see the vivid pictures the author paints with their words. Kit is haunted by the work she once loved, the country she used to serve. And when that past comes face to face with her present it will be a fight not to get dragged down with it.
This is a new author for me and I was blown away by how easily this story draws you in. Although it is a shorter story you cannot tell. Kit is so haunted by everything that has happened that is has completely changed. You can feel her pain and emotions from this but you can also feel Lee’s pain in him trying o help her get back to the person she once was. This was a brilliant book and one that I can not recommend enough. I am looking forward to the rest of the series.

A Terrible Beauty is the first book in T, Birmingham’s Fallen Eagles MC series that leaves you breathless and teary eyed and waiting for the next story in the series! I have already read the second book and I guess one could say you could read them as standalones but I disagree … you would lose so so much by ignoring the order. It is not my first read by this writer but I was very surprised when I realized that it is a completely different genre that I had expected and I promise you, it was a great surprise!
A Terrible Beauty is a military romance mixed with romance and suspense. We have the Fallen Eagles MC in the suburbs of Philadelphia and it is fully made up of veterans. Their goal is to help other veterans and their families. Despite of the horrors they have lived and survived, they still give their all to help the other veterans … It is the WAR that is a TERRIBLE BEAUTY and the writer has given us a terribly beautiful story of the demons that Kit Markham has been fighting to overcome for years, the PTSD that is holding her hostage, the pain she is causing to others when she thinks she is actually keeping them safe … and then there is Lee Deveraux, her high school sweetheart and another vet and the only one who is able to offer her peace and refuge … is she ready to embrace it when the demons are coming out to play and will not stop until they have been paid in blood!
I absolutely love the Fallen Eagles MC series and I hope that the writer will keep gracing us with the stories that are as unforgettable as this one … A Terrible Beauty …

The story Written in the Stars (Fallen Eagles MC Series Book 2) by T. Birmingham is a book with both suspense and romance. I loved reading it just as much as I did the first one. It is a story that draws you in and I found myself lost in the book until I had finished. There are page-turning moments which had me wondering what was going to happen next. There is a mystery that must be solved which will keep you guessing. This is also a story about romance and a connection that is felt by two of the characters. I loved reading about the characters of Davis “Eagle” Landon and Winter Markham. Eagle is a businessman. He is also the President of the Fallen Eagles MC. He gives a lot back to the community, especially veterans. He also is very attracted to Winter. Winter is a woman who owns her own business and has wonderful friends and family. Winter can feel lonely and like she is separate/apart. She also feels an attraction to Eagle. What does the future hold for Eagle and Winter? Will the sparks fly, and a serious relationship start? The Fallen Eagles have taken on a case involving a serial murderer. Those that are being murdered fit Winter’s description. How much danger is she in? Read this book to find out. I enjoyed reading about the additional characters that are in this story. Many of them were introduced in the first book in the series. There are plenty of interactions and bantering that goes on. I like the feeling of family and home that the story gives you as well as the close friendships that you read about. My emotions went up and down along with the characters and I found myself caring about what happens to them. This is a wonderful second book in the series and I look forward to reading the next one.

And their small town and the Philadelphia area aren’t afraid to call on the varied skills of this rough and ready crew to help out on a case or two.

Summer brought us blackmail.
Winter will bring us murder.

With a Philly-based serial murderer on the loose, and the most recent victim a member of their small town, the Fallen Eagles MC will deal with one of the hardest cases they’ve ever encountered.

Davis “Eagle” Landon has given a lot for his country—an eye, a leg, time with his kids. He’s retired now and as the owner of several small businesses and the founder and President of the Fallen Eagles MC, this former Texan has his roots firmly planted. He’s ready to settle down again, and only one woman will do.

Winter is different. A bit of a loner. Quiet. Sarcastic. She’s also the owner of the one and only full-service salon in Golden Trail and has an amazingly supportive family and a close-knit group of friends who love her for the odd woman she’s molded herself into. She still feels like there’s something missing, though. As the youngest Markham, she’s seen the many struggles her older sisters have endured, and as much as the prospect scares her, she wants a love that is all her own. The problem? Nosy sisters, a murderer killing women who fit her description, and the guy she loves is a good twelve years older and way out of her league.

Eagle and Winter have a tough road ahead, but what these two are about to realize is that not even death can separate two souls who are written in the stars.

I like the fact that the Fallen Eagles MC is made up of veterans and that they help other veterans and their families. I liked reading about the characters of Kit Markham and Lee Devereaux. Kit is a woman who has served her country. She is tough, passionate, and fiery. She also is a woman who has come back from her time in the service feeling broken and has built walls around her heart and soul. One of those who knows just how much she has changed is Lee Devereaux. While he always tries to be there for her, he can’t help but wish that she wouldn’t keep things from him. Threats are being received by veterans and their families. Now Lee knows about Kit’s shocking history. Will this change the way that Lee sees and thinks about Kit? Before she left they were in love. What does the future hold for Kit and Lee? Read this story to find out. This book is one the had my emotions going up and down the entire time I was reading it. I could feel the pain that the characters go through and you can’t help but empathize and also feel heartbroken with what they are dealing with. This is the first book in a series and I thought that it makes a good start in introducing the members of the club and also family members. I look forward to upcoming books and learning more about the club and the work that they do to help others.

In the small town of Golden Trail, PA, the Fallen Eagles MC isn’t just any group of veterans. They’re patrons of the community, the protectors of veterans and towns folk alike, and a motley group of world military-trained men and women. And their small town and the Philadelphia area aren’t afraid to call on the varied skills of this rough and ready crew to help out on a case or two.

Ten years ago, Kit Markham left her high school sweetheart, Lee Devereaux, behind to serve her country. The woman who returns is just a shadow of her former self. She might be the kickass Second of the Fallen Eagles MC, but she’s also damaged—and it’s an unbearable struggle at times, just to make it through the day. The only things that help are her veteran MC, the Fallen Eagles, her family, and long, quiet rides on the back of Lee’s bike.

Lee has his own share of war wounds, but none worse than the burden he’s taken on to see that the Kit he once knew finds herself again.

It’s been over two years since she returned home, and Lee still can’t find the girl he once loved in the woman who’s become so lost. He’s had it with being kept in the dark. He’s demanding answers—but he’s not the only one who’s interested in Kit’s past.

When local soldiers, veterans, and their families start getting threats from a team of blackmailers, Kit’s shocking history is revealed. A twist that has Lee reeling and wondering if what they once had is even salvageable.

Rage Against The Devil (Wild Beasts Series Book 3) by T. Birmingham – Review by Debi Kircher

Rage Against the Devil (Wild Beasts Series Book 3)Rage Against the Devil by T. Birmingham

Rage Against The Devil (Wild Beasts Series Book 3) by T. Birmingham

This is way more than a 5 star read!!

Eire Donovan, an Others enforcer, has been assigned to to investigate a string of Others murders. She’s tough, showing no emotion and has been more than once called a cold hearted b**** and she has no problem with that, she’s actually quite happy with that. Her childhood was awful and although close to them once, she doesn’t even keep in touch with her brothers. Her investigation takes her to the town of Montville, New York, the location of the latest murder, where she finds she will have to work with a group of what she considers misfits.

Nicholas Arviso, a lone wolf, that is completely happy living alone and away from everyone. Trying with all he has to escape his past sins. He comes across a murder that has occurred in his own back yard. As he gathers his forces to begin an investigation an unknown shows up claiming to be an enforcer for the Others.

Another war rages on in Montville, and all the participants whether Other or Clan, light or dark will all be required in order to solve it and get the answers they need to solve the case. This story revolves a lot around Eire and Nicholas, and what it takes to be able to accept who they are as they are forced to learn more about themselves and each other, and in the process try to deal with feelings for each other that could possibly destroy them in the end.

This series is so hard to review, there is so much involved in this story that it would normally be hard to follow, but this author describes everything in a way that you have no problems connecting all the dots and just like book one, I’ve never read any books where the epilogues are as jaw dropping as these. I would highly recommend reading these books in order to be able to understand everything going on and getting to know all the characters because each one is important. That’s something else that I love about this series…each person in these books are front and center at one point or another all the way through. I’m not a reader of Paranormal normally, but from here on it doesn’t matter what this author writes I will be one of the first in line to one click!! I can not wait for the next book, and the best part is I will get to read the first ones again when the next comes out so that I don’t forget any one of the amazing details.

Rage Against the Devil (Wild Beasts Series Book 3)Rage Against the Devil by T. Birmingham
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Nicholas Arviso is a cop but he is not your ordinary cop. He is a wolf, but he is not your ordinary wolf. He has spent his life hiding and trying to forget the past. A past that he can never forget. A past he can not forgive himself for. A past that continues to haunt him to this day. A past that has kept him partially secluded from the world. A past he tries to run from literally. Whilst running from his past he finds a gruesome discovery, a crime scene near his home, in his backyard. A crime scene that is so brutal that without his sense of smell there would be no discovering the truth. A truth that will change his life forever. A discovery that will cause him to look inward to find the ugly truth. Secrets that changes the way he thinks and all he has known.

Eire Donovan has lived a hard life forsaking family and friends. Things she has had to see and endure have made her dark, cold as stone, a hard bitch with her gifts make her both dangerous and deadly. She is a thing that most fear even evil itself therefore making her good at her job as an enforcer. Now in Montville, New York, she is chasing after a series of deaths Eire finds that a past she thought dead and buried is back to haunt her. Facing family has made her even colder and sharper than she thought she would become. Eire is darkness, she is an Other but despite all that she has known she must finally face the truth about herself. A truth she does not want to know, a truth she has pushed aside and buried deep within. The truth of who she really is.

Will Nick finally let go of the past? Will he finally accept who he is? Will he be able to save on the one thing that would kill him and who could save him? Will the Light and Dark find even ground to defeat the enemy? Will they find that the differences between them is to much? Will they sacrifice themselves to destroy the evil? Will they find the truth to themselves in time to save themselves?

This book is a Paranormal Romance that is complex and the chemistry is hot but it is also heartbreaking, enlightening and awakening. The world created in this story will draw you in! The characters are well written you will want to just keep reading.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Devil’s Pride (Wild Beasts Series Book 1) by T. Birmingham

5 Stars only because that’s max, this is an off the star chart read.

Sad I’m done with this book, but happy because I can go right back to page 1 and read it again 🙂

I normally start a review talking about the characters of the book and leave my feelings to the end, but I am putting my feelings first for this one so everyone that doesn’t hit the see more will still see them. I do not normally read paranormal romances or paranormal stories of any kind but this one for some reason caught my attention. I was scared because they normally don’t hold my interest and I then don’t finish the book, which I hate which is why I don’t read them. THIS BOOK!!!! I don’t even have words to tell you how good this book was written, it had me from page 1 and refused to let go till I was finished, and I don’t feel like I took a breath throughout the entire story. This author is AMAZING, and I can not wait to pull up her website and grab anything there that’s part of this series…I want more, and I’m sure you will too. So if you are anything like me and don’t read this book because it’s a paranormal story trust me and give it a shot..you will LOVE it!!

Alexia Maria Garda-Martinez has always known she was different, and if she didn’t know it most everyone let her know by calling her a demon and showing fear when they looked at her. With her red eyes, blood red colored hair, and pale skin. She’s lived for years in foster care and state homes, usually ending badly and forcing her on to the next, she thought she had a home until tragedy struck and she was without a home yet again, until the Martinez’s. Where she now has a family that she loves and that loves her. She has a great career, a full life and a wonderful best friend/roommate Mindy. Along with some very vivid dreams that she can not explain or forget about involving a dark, mysterious man she has named Midnight.

Devon Waters was forced to leave Montville, New York, and his twin brother Cam fifteen years ago. Now he is back trying to reconnect with his brother, who is a detective working on a case, a brutal family murder with unexplainable clues.

There are forces at work in this small town, a war between good and evil. All of the characters in this story are drawn into this war in one way or the other. The story focuses a lot on Devon and Alexia, but there are other characters as well that are just as important.

I can’t even explain anymore of this book, because I could go on for days telling this story, all I will say is that it was outstanding and I do highly recommend it and the epilogue….ugh!!

The Devil's Pride (Wild Beasts Series Book 1)The Devil’s Pride by T. Birmingham
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Alexia Maria Garda-Martinez has always felt different, has always been different. That difference being pale skin, red hair and red eyes because of this she has always been looked at differently, especially because of the eyes. Alexia spent years in the foster system never knowing who her parents were or where she came from. She was given a home with a nice loving family, she has a job and is studying something she loves and has the best friend she could ever hope to have, that is like her sister, Mindy. All she needed was someone to love.

Devon Waters and his twin brother, Cam did not have the best childhood which caused Devon to flee from his home in Montville, New York. He was found by people he now calls family who helped him find his true self. Devon decides that it’s time for him to make amends with his brother and heads back to Montville. After being discovered at a gruesome murder scene he is reunited with his brother, who is a detective in the local police department. Cam is having trouble reconciling his feelings for a brother who left him behind but Devon doesn’t plan on leaving any time soon.

Alexia, Mindy and Cam find themselves in the middle of strange occurrences, murder and mayhem. They all have secrets that will leave them questioning just who and what they are. With Devon’s help they begin to understand just what they are up against. They discover there are many things in the world that good and evil, light and dark, friend and foe. The worst they discover is the Skrom who live by drinking blood, they became dark souls, Shadows. They have no respect for life, they take what they want, they are Death. They discover the Shadows now in their town and this leads to a battle that needs them to join forces to stop the evil taking over and destroying what they have come to love.

But who can they trust? Who is friend and who is foe? Will they be able to deal with who they are in time to fight this battle? Will love be enough to hold them together or will the darkness inside be too much to bear?

I enjoyed this story of murder, mystery and mayhem. Fantasy and paranormal in abundance. If you like paranormal romance then this is the book for you.
