Tomb For An Eagle by Lexie Conyngham is the first book in the Orkneyinga Murders series. I found this book to be full of mystery and intrigued and was kept guessing all the way to the end. This book focuses on Scottish and Norse history and weaves a tale so imaginative that at times it was so easy to imagine you were there. The author effortlessly captures your attention. For me I knew I had to read this book from the second I read the blurb and was already trying to figure out what could be going on. The characters in this book were perfectly written for the story they were in. It felt like they added to the story rather than were happenstance of what was going on. This book was full of details and it really takes you on a journey. Never at any point was it obvious as to who the killer would be or dull as we were taken on the investigate journey. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. I loved the level of detail in it and I loved how it felt like it was true to the time it was set in. I am looking forward to reading whatever comes next in this series.

I love to read all types of romance books. Paranormal, Erotica, Contemporary but I will admit that I have not fully dipped into the sports drama genre yet. So, I didn’t know what to expect from this story. But I will happily say that I was surprised and happy to have picked up this gem. Alexa Summers delivers a solid TOUCHDOWN (get the play on words, lol) with this book.
Lexi Driver loves being a sportscaster. I mean to hear Lexi tell it who wouldn’t? You get to be in the locker room with hot guys in all their glory. But being on top isn’t easy. Sportscasters have generally been men and making sure she stays on top Lexi does whatever it takes. Even if that means using a clip of backup quarterback Brett Brock accidental towel drop. Now Brett is asking for an apology. Too bad Lexi doesn’t feel like giving one!
Brett Brock can’t believe what happened! What slip and now the whole world has seen him in all his glory. Mistakes happen and the only thing that Brett wants is an apology from the stubborn reporter. But she doesn’t feel she should apologize. Can Brett show her the error of her ways? Or will Lexi’s stubbornness and drive sink both their careers?
Touchdown checked off a lot of boxes for this romance reader. I enjoyed the chemistry and romance buildup between the main characters. I enjoyed the quirkiness and sometimes comic relief provided by the secondary characters. Although the book seemed a little predictive, Ms. Summers was able to add enough meat in the book to keep it interesting and enjoyable. Highly entertaining interspersed with moments of drama, suspense and of course the steamy scenes make this a good read. I will be on the lookout for the next book in this series.

Lexie Conyngham’s Tomb for an Eagle is the first book in the Orkneyinga Murders series. This is a tale rife of mystery and suspense. Set in the past, it is eloquently written to align with the historical times. The author uses their creative writing talent to engage the reader in the story and maintain their interest page after page until finally you come to the final pages. I felt that the characters were flawless in their portrayal and fell within the story effortless creating a seamless experience in reading. Normally I may not have read a book within this genre, but something about it drew me in and I don’t regret it. I look forward to reading future books in this series by Lexie Conyngham.

This book was good. Finding true love is hard especially when it’s something expected of your family. This love ends up being like no other love and it can break, but can it be fixed is the question. I found my self skimming at parts that seemed a little slow for me. The book was well written and the plot was great. You could see the writers passion for romance. It something you will want to read more about the characters after the book ends. It’s a good book. The good romance you want in your life that’s in these pages.

Healing Danger, by Maddie Wade, is the first novel in the Fortis Security series. This romantic suspense is full of mystery, attraction/chemistry, and an amazing cast of lead and supporting characters. This author has created characters that each strongly stand apart from another without clashing within the story. Dane’s intensity in this story is the epitome of the alpha male. How he works to protect and support Lauren was superb. Not only was the romance in this book amazing, but the story sequence/plot was well thought out, put together and shared with the reader. It doesn’t feel thrown together, at all. Maddie Wade is a talented author that shines in this genre.
Jesse (Glass City Hearts Book 3) by Desiree Lafawn 4 Stars
I love this series and with each additional book, it just keeps getting better. The storylines are interesting and the characters are lovable. Each character has found a place in my heart. This installment is Jesse’s story. It has been drilled into his head since he was a little boy that family always comes first. When his mother dies, Jesse returns home to take care of his alcoholic father even though the man was never there for him. Two years later and Jesse is at his wits end trying to run his father’s bar. A bathroom accident in the back alley of the bar changed his life forever. Harlow came into his life when he least expected it.
Harlow has struggled her whole life. She wants one break so she can give her son a better life. She knows her interview with Glass City Guard is it but her son’s bladder has other plans. A chance meeting with Jesse in a back alley has turned her life around. She has everything she could ever want within her grasp, she just has to protect her son and get through one of the scariest nights of her life.
I loved Harlow and Jesse but fell in love with JJ as did all the other characters. This little boy was adorable. It was nice to see the reappearance of characters ie: Jolene and Gerta. Rosalina cracked me up especially towards the last few scenes. I was dying of laughter! I think this is a winning book by this author. I’m looking forward to more books in this series.

Tomb for an Eagle (Orkneyinga Murders Book 1) by Lexie Conyngham is an original and engaging historical murder mystery story. The tale is as mysterious as it is suspenseful, with a whose done it type theme. Lexi kept switching it up so you were unable to pinpoint who committed the crimes. Just when you thought you were on the right track, boom you were thrown off track. The writing is engaging, detailed and descriptive and makes you feel like you are a part of the mystery. The story is set in my favourite place in the world, Scotland but in a time where Vikings reined.

Touchdown: A Steamy Football Romance is Book 1 in The Big Apple Series From author Alexa Summers. This is my first read from this author and I can’t wait to see what else she brings to this series and what other reads she has. Alexa Summers has created a read that is entertaining, funny, sexy, steamy & just an amazing read from the get-go.
Lexi has a job all women probably wished they had, interviewing sports stars from the Locker rooms, which means catching some of the stars just off the pitch! But what she never expects in one of her usual interviews is for a wardrobe malfunction to happen to backup quarterback Brett Brock live on T.V which then causes her and Brett into the limelight. To read Lexi and Brett’s journey through this book was so enjoyable, there was quite a few things about this read that had me laughing out loud, but there was also times that this book made me frustrated just by the actions from Brett. But none of the less, I really do think Brett & Lexi have a great relationship they had banter with each other but I don’t think they were actually aware of how great they could be with each other even with their love/hate relationship but the build up of it caused a steamy release for the both of them!
This was a brilliant read from start to finish and one that shouldn’t be missed! I can’t wait to see what else is to come to this series, until then this one shouldn’t be missed!

Healing Danger is the first book in the series A Fortis Security Novel by Maddie Wade and this book is a great read. Maddie has written a fast paced action love story with lots of mystery and intrigue, action and twists and turns you never see coming as well as a creepy factor. Maddie has woven plots that keep you on your toes as you follow these great men who fight to keep those they love safe. The story also has another element that adds another level to the story. Healing Danger will keep you glued to page after page as the story unfolds and the suspense will have you on the edge of your seat. Maddie has started the series with a bang and I can’t wait to read the next one.
This book was such a pleasant surprise since it’s nothing like the cliche romance novels we normally see on the market. This is the first time I’ve read anything from this author and I have to say I’m hooked.
The characters really did it for me with this story. They had so much depth to them. We meet Lexi who is a sports writer and unfortunately or fortunately catches Brett in kind of an uncomfortable situation. The attraction blew off the page with the witty banter that ensued. As their story continued I fell more and more in love with them and Miss Summer’s writing.
This book gave me all the feels along the way. It was fast pace, witty, and heartfelt all at the same time. I’m so excited to see what more is in store for this author and this series.

The story Healing Danger: A Fortis Security Novel Book 1 (Fortis Security Series) by Maddie Wade is a romantic suspense book. It is a story that hooked me in from the very beginning and I didn’t want to put it down until I had read the final page. It is a book with action, mystery, and danger. It is a page-turner that at times had me on the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen next. I loved reading about the characters of Dane Bennett and Lauren Cassidy. Lauren is a woman who is strong, intelligent, and independent. She also has found herself a current target by someone who is unknown. Who is targeting Lauren? How much danger is she in and who will protect her? Dane is the team leader at Fortis. His job includes protecting others. When Lauren becomes a target, he steps up in order to keep her safe and protected. These two were once very good friends before another man came into her life. Will these two find themselves with a second chance at a relationship? Dane is an alpha male who at times doesn’t communicate well. This causes friction and hurt feelings. Will Dane be able to keep Lauren safe and mend the hurt that he has caused? Both Dane and Lauren find they have a passion between them. There is a chemistry that can’t be denied. Will they find happiness together? Will they get an HEA? Will Dane and the Fortis team find the one who is after Lauren and stop any evil plans that may be in the works? Read this story to find out. I enjoyed reading about the additional characters that are introduced in the book. Both the way that they interacted with each other and also with Dane and Lauren. This is an amazing story with wonderful characters. Highly recommended reading.
After finishing book 1 in this series I couldn’t wait to get my hands on the second and get stuck in! I was so happy that the book did not disappoint! I really, really enjoyed it and again the author dragged me into the story straight away. This book should definitely be read after book 1 as it is a continuation and begins around 9 months after the incredible ending that the author left us with. Again I was captivated be Alessandra’s story and it is hard to remember sometimes, because of the life she’s lived and is still living, that she is still only a teenager. The story is a great mix of coming of age situation interspersed with violence – there certainly are twists and turns on every page which kept me riveted from the beginning to the end. Alessandra is a fantastic character and I am really enjoying her story and seeing her grow up – she is mature far beyond her years and I think as she gets older she really will be a force to be reckoned with! I cannot wait to see what will happen in the next book!!

Touchdown is book one in the Big Apple series by Alexa Summers. My first time read from this author and it was a good one.
Lexi is a sports reporter, a job i absolutely envy, and she owns that. She catches Brett in an embarrassing situation and he wants a sorry. The back and forth banter was excellent, the sexual chemistry was explosive, their strong and battle ready personalities clashed spectacularly. It made for extremely entertaining reading. The whole storyline was fast paced, exciting and always full of drama and underhanding activities. Of the thrilling kind. Their coming together was steamy and raised the heart rate for sure.
I really liked Touchdown and am eager for more of this enticing series. 4 stars.

I really loved this book. It didn’t start off like any other book ive read before and I was sucked right in. I loved all the characters and the getting to know them throughout the book. And it taught a good message of not judging someone when you first meet them. Also that you cant let people get you down. I can’t say enough about this book its a must read to get the whole story. I love this author and her writing. I felt like I was in the story with them.

Tomb for an Eagle (Orkneyinga Murders Book 1) By Lexie Conyngham. While I wasn’t immediately drawn in I still found myself really enjoying this story. It had a bit of a slow start for me but once it picked up a bit I definitely couldn’t put it down. There’s so many twists and turns that readers are kept on their toes and in suspense. Each character brings something different to the story and the author has a way with attention to every detail. This was my first book by this author but it definitely won’t be the last. The author wrote a story that had me guessing until the very end and I’m a sucker for a good story that I can’t figure out right away. It’s well written and paced nicely never feeling rushed. I’m giving this book a four star review and highly recommend it to anyone looking for something a little different.

Tomb for an Eagle is the first book in Lexie Conyngham’s Orkneyinga Murders series. The book is a historical work of fiction, set in the Viking era, that is a tale of murder and suspense. Sigrid’s day can’t get any worse when she stumbles upon a dead body, that appears to be a messenger for Thorfinn. Thrown into an intense game of ‘who did it’ Sigrid and her best friend Ketil, must solve the murder before it’s too late. This was my first ever historical read that focused on Scottish and Norse history. I found the plot very captivating, as I tried to guess who the killer was. The story was full of twists and turns, that had me second guessing every character until the very end. I really liked Sigrid as the main character; she was incredibly loyal to Ketil, and fiercely independent. I really loved the way the story was wrote, it beautifully captivated the setting of the Scottish Isles, as well as the time era it was set in. I thought the research that went in to this story was incredible, as all the small details really added to the story and the experience of reading it. I really enjoyed this first book by Lexie Conyngham and gave it a 4/5-star rating

Never Let Me Fall (Fatal Dreams #3) By Abbie Roads Rated 4 stars
Thomas’ story drew me in when I first heard about it. A guy who sees black/white and has for years then once he sees a woman…all the colors come to life. Heck yeah! I wanted to read that! Because I know he will want her. She not only adds color but also fills those empty holes he had inside him. Win-win!
I had high hopes for this book. I read the last two books in the series and ab-so-lutely loved them. I am not sure why but this book was a struggle for me. At first I couldn’t connect with the characters. At times the story seemed disjointed and I had to reread pages thinking I had missed something. But it all seemed to flow much better the further Into the story I got. I started to feel the connection and actually “feel” the MC’s bond grow. There is quite a bit of movement in the last half of the book which makes some things come together. It was nice to briefly see Lathan and Evanee as they helped out a bit.
As stated above I loved the others in this series. Heck I am a one clicker of Abbie Roads. But I am sorry. I wanted to love Thomas’ story but it is an okay to good read for me.

Mad about Matt (Red Maple Falls #1) By Theresa Paolo Rated 5 stars
This book started off wonderfully! It is so smooth I felt right at home with these main characters. I love the chemistry between Matt and Shay. The have that spark as well as the cute banter. Just lovely! The secondary characters are a fun bunch. From Matt’s brothers and sisters to his parents and grandparents. The crazy drunk tractor driver and the best friend fire chief. There is always something going in and some or all of these people are involved. The banter between Shay, Kate (BFF and Matt’s sister) and Louise (employee) is snappy and fun.
I like how we were taken deeper into Matt’s family. It was a joy to spend time and get to know them. His parents and grandparents. Hadley working the farm, Mason being a home brewer and Kate glass blower those are cool and different jobs. I look forward to learning more from them.
This is a highly entertaining book. I chuckle and smiled while reading. The town and the characters were all lovely. This is a first time author for me and I look forward to getting to know the Hayes clan even more.

Caught in Make-Believe by Sharleen Scott is the third book in her The Caught series. This book can be read as a standalone although I feel as a reader you would benefit from starting at the beginning of the series to get the full background and character build up. However it is not necessary and does not take away from the story. This was a new author for me and I loved how intrigued she kept me throughout the story. I couldn’t wait to find out who was behind the threat to Jace and Samantha. I couldn’t wait to see if they would find a way to make their relationship work. The chemistry and attraction between them was obvious and believable right from the word go. The way in which this story was built up help to build the interest and keep you hooked all the way through. The story and characters were well developed and created a depth to the story that made it even better. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I will definitely be going back to read the whole series.

Must Love Fashion is the first book in Deborah Garland series Darling Cove. I happened to read the second book first so I said to myself I will go and read the first book now as I really liked her writing and the way she spins a good story! Must Love Fashion takes place … surprise surprise… in the fashion world! We meet Andrew Morgan, a former male model turned brand manager and Gwendolyn Mallory, a small town PR specialist AND the fireworks go off, the chemistry is off the charts! Never Let Me Fall by Abbie Roads is an excellent book. The whole Fatal Dreams series is an excellent group of books that you will like to read. This book can be a standalone story but would be beneficial to read the other stories. The tone of the story is a suspense, action, mystery which allows the story to move along more quickly. I was nail biting through parts of the story and wanting to close my eyes at other parts (which is hard to do when you are reading the story). This story is about Thomas and Helena. This is an interesting story as Thomas can only see in black and white, but Thomas can see the human soul (in my opinion an awesome gift). Helena has been in prison for the last 10 years being convicted of murdering her boyfriend. Now Helena has said from the beginning that she was innocent of that crime. Now the paths of Helena and Thomas have been cross and there will be answers to the questions, but will they be able to trust each other is another question that needs to be answered. Will their relationship keep going strong or will fail? You will find that answer when you read this book.

HEALING DANGER is the first book in the Fortis Security Series and because I am reading this series out of order, it was cool to go back to the beginning.
This is a suspense story with friendship, murder, mayhem, romance, secondary characters who are totally alpha (I’m glad they get stories in the future) and a few other things thrown in. There are twists and turns throughout and there is an element which I really wasn’t expecting even though I’ve read other books in the series.
It took me a little bit to get “into” the story but because I have enjoyed the author’s writing in the past, I was able to move ahead and get to a place of comfort in the book.

Caught in Make-Believe is the third book in The Caught Series by Sharleen Scott. This is my first read from Ms. Scott, and even though this book could be read as a standalone, there were characters and references to past events, that I felt I should have known about. It didn’t detract from this story, but it did pique my curiosity to read the other books and find out what happens in them, too. This is a romantic suspense, with mystery, suspense, second chances, some action, drama, and so much more. The story is quite intriguing, and I found myself throwing around various scenarios in my mind, trying to put all the pieces together and work out what was going on. The mystery and suspense were done really well done and kept the momentum of the story going. Samantha Dylan is the manager at “Sweet Stuff” bakery, she is an outgoing, likeable, and optimistic person who hasn’t had much luck in the relationship department, having just broken up with her cheating fiancé (ex). At 35 she feels her biological clock ticking and has begun to worry that she may never get her chance to experience motherhood, especially since she wasn’t getting any younger. When a grumpy, prickly man enters the bakery for a cup of coffee and something to eat, little did she know just how much her world would be turned upside down. Jace Colton is a writer, a former investigative reporter who has just made his way ‘home’ after 5 long years travelling. He is haunted by a tragedy that forced him to flee- he had delved too deeply into a story and got too close to some very dangerous information which painted a target on his back. He’s been living off the grid, always on the move, never staying anywhere for any length of time- with only his dog Martin for company. But now he’s been drawn home- because he thinks he has what he needs to finally lay his past to rest, once and for all.

The last thing he expected was to meet someone who made him feel ‘alive’ again for the first time in 5 years. But, with a target on his back, anyone who associated with him could also be in danger. What happens when the danger he’s been running from finally catches up with him? This was a very interesting story that is wonderfully detailed and descriptive. It’s told from several points of view which gives the reader a real immersive reading experience. The tension, suspense and drama were crafted really well and kept me flipping the pages to keep up with what was happening and piecing the puzzle together. I’m off to explore the other two books now!

I do believe that I am still rolling with laughter from this book. Just sitting here reminiscing my time with the characters as I type this review has me laughing all over again. I loved this rom-com from Amabel Daniels. I have read books from her before, but I have to say this is a strong point for her!
From the get-go things are off to a funny start for Lexi Regan. After a viral and not so pretty breakup she finds herself in another awkward situation when she ends up in an art class with her bestie. She thought it was supposed to be a sip wine and paint a pic by number type thing. She had no idea it was a live model in a stuffy art room situation. She really didn’t expect it to be a handsome guy that had eyes for her either. The big twist comes when the two are thrust together for a weekend at her cousins wedding. Just imagine all the shenanigans! Strap in for one hilarious story.

I read Elegantly Denim: An Elegant Prelude (Elegant Series- Prequel) before reading the series and perhaps I should have read it AFTER I read the series. I will come back and update this review after I read the full series.
This prelude was a bit confusing. There are many characters introduced, but there is no explanation why everyone is running around all willy nilly. I THINK I understand where the author was going with some of the characters, I assume they are introduced in depth in the series, but it was just confusing as to where they went. There was a lot of detail about them and then *poof* nothing. It has definitely peeked my interest though and I will be checking out the series.
I can’t tell if the protagonist is a good guy or a bad guy. What are his motivations? What’s with his whining brother? What’s with that random gal calling out of the blue? Why is his mother the way she is? I have questions…

Wow! I have not read anything from Megan Mitcham before, and I am kind of kicking myself for it now. Big time! I loved this novel, and for so many different reasons. This happens to be very good, because I will mostly be rambling about them, for the better part of this review. I would hate to spoil any of this fantastic multi-layer mystery and suspense novel that what I could say about its storyline is quite limited.
I think I must start with the gorgeous cover. I was drawn in right away with its striking appearance. I honestly didn’t even read the blurb, and jumped right into the novel, no questions asked. I was ready for an adventure.
This story promises to keep you enthralled every single second. I was constantly wondering WHO. Which really not only made the title very fitting, but was a really great reading experience. I love a great suspenseful story that will keep me engaged and going, “I didn’t see that coming.” out loud to myself several times throughout. I very much so caught myself doing this.
I absolutely adored that a woman, Larkin Ashford, was a main character and the billionaire. More power to strong women represented. She is one kicka** character and I loved her. She knew what she wanted and she took it. No games. Sometimes it is nice to just get a no mess story. This had the hint of romance but it was a focus and I liked that. It was a balance to the suspense rather than a focus. Mostly we see that Larkin is a strong person and I really loved that.
I would have to say finally, that I am most excited that this is just book one is a series. That means there is more to come! Bonus to being late to the game of discovering Megan Mitcham is while I am waiting I can go check out her other works! Thanks for a great read Ms. Mitcham!
Across From You is a hilarious romantic comedy from Amabel Daniels. This book had me laughing from the very first page all the way to the last. Amabel Daniels is a new author to me and after reading this book, I’ll be sure to read more of her work. Manager of a stuffed toy store, Lexi Regan has sworn off men having just been dumped very publicly on Facebook. Her very public dumping has gone viral and she’s feeling humiliated. Add to this her bridezilla cousin Bev’s upcoming wedding, she’s having a rubbish time. Having been dragged by her friend to an art class, she can’t stop fantasizing about the nude male model they had to draw. Jack O’Connell, work partner of Bev, had lost a bet at Bev’s fiance’s stag night and as a result had to do a stint as a nude model at an art class. While modelling he couldn’t keep his eye off the gorgeous brunette who was drawing him. It’s a small world as Lexi and Jack find out as he’s the groomsman who is partnering bridesmaid Lexi at the wedding. This is a story that proves that first impressions can often be very far from the truth. We find this out in a hilarious way as Jack and Lexi stumble from one mishap to another. I loved both of these characters. Lexi is hilarious. You can’t help but be intrigued as to what is going to come out of her mouth next. Jack is an absolute sweetheart and nothing like the player that Bev has made him out to be. So if you are looking for a great rom com, I’d definitely recommend that you give ‘Across From You’ a go.

I will start this by saying that I’m completely OBSESSED with this series! There aren’t many swinger books out there, or at least one that has a complete story behind it and it isn’t all about the sex. It’s about the emotions and the up and downs of any relationship. Miss Alexander blew this one out of the park. Her writing is superb and the story hooks you from page one.
We meet Casey in California where she is undergoing cancer treatments. Paisley and Leah come for a visit but both have issues that are clouding their minds. Casey steps in and tells them her own story with Gabriel and Joshua. What started off on just getting her “needs” met turned into the most epic love story I’ve read this year. It’s a story that will keep you on pins and needles until the very end when you can finally breathe.
Miss Alexander most definitely outdid herself on this book! Not only do I HIGHLY suggest that this book should be on everyone’s must-read list but the whole series as well!

This is a romance-mystery-suspense book that I enjoyed from the beginning, along with the twists and turns. Jace is an investigative writer that has come home after five years. Samantha has decided no more project men for her but then she meets Jace. What will happen when Jace’s past catches up to him? Will it put them both in danger? I enjoyed both of these characters and their chemistry. I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens to them.

This is the first book in this series, it is full of action and romance. Dane is tasked with keeping Lauren safe but is having some troubles with that as it seems that he could be falling in love with her. I loved both of these characters and their chemistry. I also enjoyed the banter that happens between the two that make them great for each other. There are some twists and turns that I didn’t see coming but it certainly kept me turning pages. I highly recommend reading this book.
