Tortured Skye (Hawke Family Novels) is the second book in the series by Gwyn McNamee and is an erotic contemporary romance that will set you on fire. I love anything Gwyn writes and the Hawke Family series is fast becoming one of my favourites. The emotions that Gwyn instills in her stories has the ability to grab you from the very first page and keeps you titillated right until the very last word.
Skye Hawke has lost one half of herself and is still trying to comes to terms with it by hiding her pain behind her stubborn and hot headedness and down right rudeness. She also has a secret, a secret she has had since she was sixteen years old.
Gabe Anderson doesn’t do commitment, but now that he has noticed his best friends little sister is no longer little, he has more to lose which ever way he turns. Love the woman and lose the best friend or keep the best friend and lose the woman.
Gwyn McNamee is a must on everyone’s to READ list. I can’t wait to demolish her next book.

Building Storm: (A Hawke Family Novel) (The Hawke Family Book 4) Gwyn McNamee just blew me out of the water. I thought Stone was my favourite and now Building Storm has surpassed my expectations. Gwyn is an amazing writer and and I always know I am in safe hands when I read one of her books. This story I devoured in one sitting, even though I had to get up for work the next day I absolutely could not set it aside. I was so wrapped up in the story time was gone before I even came up for air. Gwyn knows just the right ingredients to weave together to give you an experience you will not forget. Your heart will be pumping and jumping out of your chest and your emotions running all over the place. I felt as though I was the one in the story as I felt it all. I laughed, I cried and sobbed, my sorrow and love was real, my heart broke and at times I could not breathe. It is as beautiful as it is dark, it is as wonderful as it is sad and it is raw and powerful. The complexity of the characters and their lives and the plot is a work of art.
There will be no spoilers on this review as the story speaks for itself. There are a multiple of other books I can see from some of the other characters in this series and I really, really can not wait to see where Gwyn may take us.
This is the most amazing story that no one should miss. It is brilliant.

Full Glasses and Burju Shoes by Blake Blessing is a romance like no other. This is only the second book I have read by Blake but it is one that I really, really enjoyed. The story is engaging and enthralling and is so full of emotions that it really stirred me up and made my heartache. Having gone through PTSD I felt everything Emil and his war buddies were going through. There is a lot of turmoil that put me on edge and had my heart racing and I could not put it down. I read it all in one sitting. The characters are so raw and real and hurting and loving and scared. There was no way I could put it aside, I had to know now what was happening and felt like I needed to be there for the characters and I wanted to wrap them up in big hugs.
Emil has recently returned from being deployed overseas and is desperate to have a normal life but what is normal when you come home from war.
Perrin has known loss but she has never had to deal with anything like the god-like man who has gotten her offside from the get go.
OMG, there were many tears and some laughter but the lows felt like they kept on coming and it was one twist after the other. Blake has really impressed me with this story. I can not recommend this book enough!
A Christmas Wish (A Manhattan Dream) by Engy Neville is the second book in the series and is an interesting read. It is a Christmas romance story that had all the right ingredients but I felt like there could be more. The story is sweet and entertaining but I struggled with Amy. At first I liked her but as the story went on, I thought she was a bit too self involved and I felt really frustrated with her, but she seemed to redeem herself towards the end. Likewise with the relationship between Amy and Richie, at times it didn’t seem like there was a true connection between them and I felt the romance was often missing. Overall I get where the author was going but it didn’t quite hit the mark for me, some things were overstated and others understated. I did however like the ending when a nemesis becomes a friend and love does find a way.
Tapped (The Night Moves Series) by Tarrah Anders is the third book in the series and is just as fabulous as the first two. I get excited when I see Tarrah’s name, it means I have another book that I know I will love. She is great at what she does, and that is writing contemporary romance stories and characters that you fall in love with. Not only are the stories sexy, smoking hot and sizzling between the sheets. They are also fun and sweet and have me laughing out loud at the banter and wit.
Janae loves her friends, her job, but when an unexpected face turns up in her happy place, she gets the shock of her life.
Kai just wants a place to call home. So when he turns up to start his new job, he comes face to face with the one that got away.
Tapped is a quick and delightful second chance read, that had me enjoying each and every page as I know it will you. I can’t wait to see where Tarrah takes us to next.

Bad Things Happen: Gripping Psychological Suspense (Ashes to Ashes Book 1) by Rowena Holloway is full of dark secrets and fraught with danger. This psychological thriller will have you on the edge of your seat while the suspense keeps you on your toes. The story often goes back in time but does so little by little just giving you a hint of a little bit more until the whole truth is revealed and boy does it have some twists.
Charlotte Ashe is a weather girl working in London. When a hint of a story is thrown her way, little did she know that it would come with deadly consequences, secrets and lies, painful truths and so many cover ups that she would never be the same. With so many players uncovering the truth from the lies, before it’s too late may just be her undoing.
Shadow’s Keep: A Novel by Meghan O’Flynn is a twisted and dark tale that Meghan is so good at writing. Shocking and chilling, thrilling and crazy town have a name and that it Meghan and her imagination. The vividness that is written is compelling and nightmare inducing but you can not stop this crazy ride, page after page is turned to find out what happens. Meghan cleverly infuses clues in her twists and turns that you don’t see until the explosive and shocking end, in fact you can never guess where the story is going so it certainly keeps you on your toes..
I recommend you read this book if you love a thriller that is dark and oh so twisted.
The Way You Are (Carolina Connections Book 5) by Sylvie Stewart is another remarkable story that is fun and captivating. It is a quick read that is an enthralling page turner and is told in several POV’s, which I love. It is a little quirky in its telling as is Sylvie’s way and her characters will find their way into your heart. The main characters are wonderfully cute as they dance around one another.
Brett is a gentleman who is sweet and adorable and every woman’s dream. Liv is a bad arse and far from shy, she loves what she does and those she is loyal to. Together they are hilarious and so so sexy mexy and hot, hot, hot, if only they can get on the same page.
This is an easy, light and fun read that absolutely needs to be on your read list.

PLAYER (21st Century Courtesan Book 1) by Pamela DuMond is bittersweet and an original story that is multi layered in its telling. There is lots of emotions, highs and lows and is complex and mysterious, as it is sexy and as suspenseful, as it is dramatic, and it is definitely captivating in its uniqueness.
Evies life has been plagued with mental health issues. Everything she has done is so she can take care of her family and that is why she is where she is today. She has a unique ability, that makes her highly sort after by the rich and famous but who is able to help her?
It is as beautiful as it is bittersweet. I am a definite Pamela DuMond fan after this read and there is so much more story to tell and I can not wait for the next book in the series.

The Memory of Us by Lisa Sorbe is a contemporary adult romance story that is raw and takes you on a bit of an emotional rollercoaster. It is a story of love and loss, heartache and second chances. Of memories and what if’s, of looking for something that could only be found deep inside yourself. The characters are well developed and their lives will hit you right in the heart and have you falling in love with them. There are flashbacks to explain the back stories and how they got to where they are now. Lisa’s description of the town and its people is so vivid you can imagine it.
Elena is a successful lawyer and a killer in the courtroom and always keeps her emotions at bay. So when she returns home, years after she left, she is at a crossroad and struggling and until she really lets herself feel and work through her emotions and memories can she truly begin to live again.
It is a beautiful and bittersweet story that is a great read

Written in the Stars (Fallen Eagles MC Book 2) by T. Birmingham is a second chance romance story about a MC that is made up of veterans. It is the second book in the series and I advise that you read the first book Terrible Beauty so you get a better understanding of the characters and their world. This book is focused on the President of the MC and his second chance at love but there is also something much darker and sinister going on in the small town that sees time running out for them before things get much worse. There is so much going on and a lot of players that you are never bored.
This story will leave you with your emotions on a roller coaster ride, there is heartache and sorrow but it is also heart warming and yes there will be tears but there is also laughter. The story had me engrossed to the very end. T. Birmingham is a great storyteller and the characters are easily lovable with their flaws, their quirks and all their insecurities that you can not help but fall in love with them. Bring on the next story

A Terrible Beauty (Fallen Eagles MC Book 1) by T. Birmingham is a second chance romance that is not pretty and not your normal MC story, it is a story of a MC that is a family of veterans. It is a story of the horrors of war that has affected the lives of so many. It shows how vile some people can be.
Whilst no longer part of the war but still a victim, Kit is broken and is forced to finally face her past face to face. A past that has haunted her for years. A past that has destroyed lives.
It is a fast paced story that is hard to read some of the scenes but I thoroughly enjoyed it and I devoured it easily in one sitting. This story will leave you with a heartache but also a warm heart but beware there will be tears. The story is so powerful it had me engrossed to the very end. T. Birmingham is a great storyteller and her characters are easily enchanting with their quirks and all, and your emotions match theirs as we journey along this tough and sh*tty road with them.

Alive (Sundown Series Book 3) by Courtney Konstantin is a thrilling sci fi, post apocalyptic, suspense story that had me on the edge of my seat, all the way through. I am not normally a zombie lover, but this story is unique and different in it’s telling and the plot and whilst it has walking dead, it’s focus is on how it came about and the people and their fight for survival.
This tale is definitely intense and will have your heart pumping and your fight or flight instincts kicking in and I had to remind myself to breathe, as I traversed my way around the action and danger, drama and twists and turns. Courtney’s story is an original twist and is so engrossing. Her vivid writing style, is so descriptive that it truly feels like you are the one fighting and trying to survive. I had to read it all in one go, I had to keep turning the pages because I had to know, I needed to know, I had to witness it first hand. Trust me when I say you will continue to think about it long after you have turned the last page and long after darkness has set, when you are looking in the shadows.
Rafe and Charlie have gone from normal to chaos and fighting to survive, but it’s not just the walking dead they have to worry about. Will they be able to survive the true evil that is after them?
I have not read anything by Courtney before, now I have to go back and read the first two books and scout around to see what else she has written because her word smithing is superb. This is definitely my favourite read so far for the new year.
If you love a thrilling, gory tale that is gruesome, is disturbing, is disgusting and intensely gripping, then this is one that should be on your reading list.

Awakening Of A Soul Keeper: Prequel To The Soul Keeper Series by Brienne Dubh is a paranormal romance and a nice change from the normal vampire stories. This is the first book I have read by this author and it certainly did not disappoint. It is an easy fast paced read that I thoroughly enjoyed and only wished it was a longer story. I devoured this book in one sitting. The story is powerful and intriguing and enticing and had me enthralled to the very end. Brienne is a great storyteller and her character building is spot on even with their quirks and all, I loved them.
Theodora went from a normal life, to suddenly being thrust into a world of violence and danger, lies and secrets and unimaginable beings that are powerful beyond her comprehension. As if that was not enough of a bad day she also finds out she is not what she thought she was. One touch and her life is forever changed. Her world as she knew it is no longer the same.
I look forward to reading more of this series and more from this author. Well done Brienne.

Paladin’s Hell: Satan’s Devils MC (Colorado Chapter) #1 by Manda Mellett is one story that I have been waiting for. I love the characters that Manda has written for her MC. The men are fierce and loyal and love deeply and quickly and their women our wonderful ladies that won’t take their sh*t. Paladin’s Hell is a spin off of the original Satan’s Devils series which you really need to read before you read this book because then you get to know all the players and their backstories. There are some dark themes in these books but they are done well and make the books and the characters who they are. These people feel like family and in my eyes do what they do so well. It gave us a great opening show of the characters in this new series and I look forward to getting to know them better.
Well done Manda, I am looking forward to read more of these amazing people.

Wish Upon a Bollywood Star by Pamela Q. Fernandes is one surprising read. I wasn’t too keen to take up this book but once I started I must admit I really enjoyed it. It is a very original story that is interesting and engaging and did make me laugh but I did want to smack both the main characters at times, because if they both just sat down and talked so much could be avoided but hey that’s why stories are written. The story is fast paced and drama filled but kept you glued to the pages to find out how it all ends.

Surviving Jordan (Surviving Series Book 3) by Virginia Wine is one incredible storyline that I loved. With romance and mystery, thrills and spills, danger and suspense, action and intrigue, it has it all and let’s not forget evil. It is an amazing journey and the wonderful characters from the other books in this series star right along with them. The chemistry sizzles and is sweet and sexy that heats up the pages. It is a definite page turner.
Ben has been in love with her since the day he first saw her but what he learns turns his life upside down. It can’t be true, can it? Now he has to know or lose her forever.
Jordan doesn’t know what changed but her heart is being ripped in two. Why now? What made it change? When someone new walked into her life she believed she could move on. But even that was thrown away from her.
Steel had to walk away and in walking away he finally believed he had met his match.
I thoroughly enjoyed this series and I so hope that we get to read more of Steel. He is my man.

Hope’s Defeat (The Fated Book 3) by Angela McPherson is another amazing paranormal fantasy book in this series. Angela has certainly written a series that is great and one that everyone should read and is one of my all time favourites. The characters are wonderful and some of my favourites of any series. With Gods, Demi gods, based on Greek mythology with a twist and combined with paranormal, it is a winner. This book takes up where the last one left off and is just as fantastic as the others if not better. In this book the fight for light and dark, good and evil continues but is the biggest fight to date with twists and turns you don’t always see coming. Angela has woven another magical, mystical, mysterious masterpiece that is original take on Pandora’s box. This tale will keep you glued to your seat as you journey along and help fight the evil invading their world.

The Progeny Assassin: A Tarnished Lands Story (Forgotten Woods Book 2) by P.A. Wikoff is the second book in the series which follows on from the Harrowed Half-Breed. It can be read as a standalone but it will give you more background if you read the first one. P.A’s easy writing paints vivid pictures of the world in which this story is told and of the characters who have not lead an easy life. The eeriness and darkness of the story keeps you intrigued and the pages turning.

The Lies We Tell by Brittany Butler is one storyline that I did not know what to expect. It was told in the past and the present and at times I wasn’t sure which was which but it had me intrigued and I was unable to stop until I had devoured it all. The character Natalie is all over the place but she had me in fits of laughter. I am not sure I wanted to live inside her head. She’s a runner but the one thing she wants is the one thing we all want. Many times she is forced to face her feelings when she doesn’t want to but the ultimate betrayal maybe the best thing to happen to her.
Rising Star by Susannah Nix is a sweet romance book that has a wonderful storyline. It is a romantic tale that is fun, cute and written. I loved the easy relationship and banter between the main characters who I loved loved loved. They both have well imagined backgrounds and strengths and vulnerabilities as well. It is a bit of an emotional read as it hits on a tough subject but Susannah handled it well. Alice is caring and smart and a beautiful soul and on her way to a Ph.D but that doesn’t pay the bills, yet. Griffin is on his way to stardom and offers Alice an answer to her problem. Trust is hard for her but she says yes and that is when things change between the two but he holds all the power to take it all away. That was when I wanted to smack him. Don’t miss out on this sweet romance story.

The Debt Collector is An Underground Bad Boy Romance by India Kells is such an unexpected surprise story, it was awesome. I really like reading India’s stories, they are wonderfully written and this one is no different. There is lots of drama and danger, heartache and intrigue, suspense and pain, demons to be slain and pleasure and romance and boy oh boy does it sizzle. So much so that a cold shower will be on the agenda. I was so devoted to India’s written word that the world flew by as I became a part of the story and walked hand in hand with them. I devoured page after page and before I knew it, it was over and a couple of hours were behind me. These beautiful and complex characters are hopelessly flawed and and made my heart ache and felt their pain down to my soul.
I can’t wait to see what India comes up with for the rest of the series!

Finding Juniper is an amazing addition to the Smoke series by Sadia Ash and is the final installment of Juniper and Kyle’s love story. It is wonderfully written and is told in dual POV. I enjoyed the first book and this one is so much more. Sadia’s writing style was even better for this book.
Kyle is wonderfully flawed and complex and at times I wanted to strangle him. Likewise with Juniper, she forced so much heartache and sorrow that I just wanted to shake some sense into her but this tale of their love story is just epic. So much so I found myself thinking I could just skip to the end to know the outcome. But I didn’t I poured over every word, every emotion, every thought and loved every minute of it. We got to see the characters grow and see more of their background and what made them, them.
This unique and powerful story may frustrate you but it is so worth the read. It is one love story that should not be missed.

The Mother-in-Law by Judy Moore is one heck of a read. All I can say is thank god I do not have a mother-in-law. The book is a suspense with lots of drama and a truly evil and vicious, mother-in-law that is a manipulating, conniving, lying witch. It was a bit slow in the beginning but quickly gained my attention as the story unfolded a few twists and turns along the way. You will either like or hate the characters or have a love/hate relationship with others.
The relationship Brad has with his mother was just weird, almost creepy and I so wanted, no needed, to slap some sense into him. Victoria on the other hand is one brave lady and I admired her will.
The ending was sad but intense and I was a little surprised with some and others I saw coming. All in all it was a quick and interesting read.

For the Love of Laura Beth (A Chicago Christmas Book 4) by Aubrey Wynne maybe a quick red but it is a beautiful and compelling story that packs a punch. It is a bit of an emotional tale of two people madly in love but separated by war. But war isn’t the only fight this couple have to deal with. It is a well written and flows nicely and the characters are wonderfully woven in to real life people.
Laura Beth and Joey face many challenges in their journey both together and alone but the biggest one yet may leave them shattered beyond repair.
This is one beautiful and compelling story that should be on your to read list. Oh and don’t forget some tissues.

Surviving the Storm (Surviving Series Book 2) by Virginia Wine is a contemporary romance and an excellent addition to the series. The story is so easy to get lost in with these amazing characters. This compelling story has all the characters I loved from the first book and it is both sweet as it is terrifying. There is suspense and mystery, love and hate, there is also sorrow and horror, courage and danger that keep the pages turning. I loved the banter between Alex and Madison and their interactions with the other characters.
Alex Storm III has found something that is completely foreign to him. Something that is under his skin after just one night. Something so precious he wants it for himself.
Madison Perry is all over the place. She has just found out she has a brother and is engaged to another. But just one night was all it took . Just one night to get under her skin. Just one night to know what it is like to be truly loved.
The chemistry and the passion steam up the pages. BUT beware there are moments that are as equally heartbreaking as they are heartwarming. I am now eagerly awaiting the next book.

The Only Series Boxed Set by Bree Kraemer is a 5 book set with different romance stories Only By His Touch, Only With Trust, If Only, Only You, Only For Love but based around the same group of friends and finding their soul mates. Each couple had their own trials and tribulations to work through to become one. It is an amazing series and the men in the series will make you all hot and sweaty and these sassy and smart women feel like friends. I am a huge fan of Bree’s writing and the ease in which she comes up with amazing characters and their worlds. I loved that all five books are all together so I could just keep reading without stopping.
The stories will keep you on your toes to see how things go and by the time you have finished each one you will need to cool off.
I highly recommend this box set, you won’t be disappointed. I can’t wait to see what Bree comes up with next.

Souls Collide: Collide Series Book 3 by Kristina Beck is a fantastic and touching story that will hold you captivated and enthralled. It captivated both my heart and soul right from the moment two beautiful souls met and boy did they certainly collide. I was fully invested in these wonderful characters and their stories and loved, loved, loved their witty banter. There is a lot of emotions in this story and I for one felt every one of them right along with them from overwhelming joy to moments of sorrow and horror. There is never a dull moment and there is plenty, plenty of drama. Alexa is strong, sassy and full of charm and loves those close to her passionately. Kent angry and has built solid walls of protection due to loss and a disease that has changed his life. Somehow the charming and beautiful soul, Alexa calls to him and maybe, just maybe she will be the one who can heal him. This story has it all. Passion and drama, humor and suspense, darkness and light, compassion and healing and is a must read!

Surviving Eden (Surviving Series Book 1) by Virginia Wine is a contemporary romance story about love and loss and finding that one person who understands you. It is also about forbidden love in the eyes of others, doctor/patient, age and best friends daughter. But as we know love has no boundaries and it doesn’t discriminate, love is love and not one size fits all. Virgina has once again cleverly woven and written a story that will make your heartache and shows real and raw feelings. It is a story that has drama and passion, loss and love and finding your one but in the midst of loss so great, that you feel deep in your soul. Dr Theodore Grant has been closed off emotionally for years and the only things he lets himself feel are the things that are extreme, fast cars, sex and the one being in control and professional. When he is asked to take on a new patient he finds himself suddenly feeling things he has never felt. He finds himself succumbing and his control slipping whenever she is around. Will he give in to temptation or will all his moral codes to fly out the window? It is a great start to the series and I can’t wait for the rest.
