Always Mine (St. Fleur #2) by A.J. Renee – Review by Jana Teppih

Always Mine (St. Fleur #2)Always Mine by A.J. Renee
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Always Mine is the second book in A. J. Renee’s St Fleur series that takes place in a small town not far from New Orleans. I loved the first book and I assume you could possibly read the second book as a standalone but I would definitely NOT recommend it!
Always Mine is the story of Lindsay and Marc. We already saw in the first book that there were undeniably sparks flying when they were in the same space and I could not wait for their book. Luckily their book was already out by the time I had read the first book so no hangover!
Lindsay and Marc’s story is a story of second chances, it is full of passion and heat and doubts and flashbacks into the past and internal struggle and … oh my goodness, what a ride! On top of the romance there is the whole stalker creepiness going on and that added another layer of mystery to the whole story, well done A.J.!
I loved the way Marc and Lindsay interacted, they were really endearing and they simply seemed to work … On top of that, there are quite a few other characters that we already fell in curiosity or love with in the first book and we get a bit more insight into their lives in this book, cannot wait for the next one! I love our St. Fleur family!
If you want to spend couple of hours in Louisiana surrounded by romance and heat, I tell you, you need to read the St. Fleur series! Enjoy it! And have a glass of wine while doing it!

Ascenders by C.L. Gaber – Review by Carrie Reed

High School for the Recently Departed (Ascenders #1)High School for the Recently Departed by C.L. Gaber
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Ascenders by C.L. Gaber is PERFECT!!!! I love d everything about this book. I could not put it down and when I finally got to the end, I was so mad and needed the second book ASAP!

Walker is a 17 year old high school girl who has just passed away. After dying she is in this sort of middle world. This new place isn’t heaven or hell, it is sort of a waiting place for teenagers and kids alike. They haven’t grown completely, so they all must attend school while living in this new “realm”. There are coffee shops, a movie theater, a supermarket and all kinds of places that make this space look like a normal everyday town you would find anywhere. The best thing about this new place is that she no longer feels pain. Internal pain, as in matters of the heart, yes, she can feel this but not physical pain. She also can’t die, because she’s already dead. In one class Walker meets Daniel and she immediately falls for him but he comes off as a jerk.

Daniel has been in the afterlife for a couple of years by now. He lives in a house with his 2 younger sisters and his brother. There is only one problem in Daniel’s life and it is the fact that his youngest brother Bobby is not with them. He is stuck the real world as a ghost like person, waiting for his big brother Danny to take him to their new home. The only problem is Daniel doesn’t know how to reach the portal to reach Bobby. Adding another distraction to his life is the beautiful Walker. He has no time for her, but is as drawn to her as she is to him. When she pushes her way in on the plan to retrieve his brother, he can’t do anything to stop her, but he will try to protect her at all costs.

The only important rule at Academy High School is to never try to go back to the real world, and to just forget everything about your past life. Will these two teenagers be able to cross the portal and get back safely? Will they be thrown into ITT, a school for teenage murderers and rapists? Will all survive?

I want to basically spell out every single thing that happens in this book, but I won’t so that I don’t ruin it for anyone. I loved this book so much. The story was something I haven’t read before, and the concept was awesome! The characters were so nicely developed and watching the relationships between all of the characters build was fantastic. I loved how each of the main characters, we got a back story on how they died and why they were now at the Academy High School. I have nothing but good things to say about this book and can not wait to read the second installment. This book is complete 5 stars from me!

Frost Bitten (The Portal Prophecies, #3) by C.A. King – Review by Sheri Schrader

Frost Bitten (The Portal Prophecies, #3)Frost Bitten by C.A. King
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Portal Prophecies: Frost Bitten is written by C.A. King. This is the third book in the series. These books are best read in order because I do not see them as standalone or out of order type of books. The story picks up where book two left off in the adventures of Willow and her friends. This time Willow and gang are up for a new challenge and learning more about themselves. The call has come and they are needing to help. This story is a Christmas/Winter theme. I enjoy how each new story is a new challenge and process for Willow and her gang. Also, that each story has a different season or theme involved.
Everyone is turning against Willow and her friends. Can they help Lance and survive King Cornelius’ wrath all at once? As their world and experiences are expanding so are their obligations and chances for conflict. I enjoyed this story and am getting pulled in deeper to the world that C.A. King has created for Willow and all the different characters. Willow is fun, strong, and adventurous. She has grown since the first book and so have her friends. They are learning quickly but are also challenged at every turn. I enjoy that they have some tough decisions and must weigh the consequences of their actions.
This is not a series for people who want a simple, boring story. Each book takes the reader on a different adventure. I am glad that there are more books in this series and look forward to reading them.

Once inside Seth finds that there is more to this club than meets the eye. Where one private show gets you far more than you bargained for and is only the beginning to everyone’s worst nightmare.
Where do people go when they disappear? Just what is
going on in the private rooms of Decadence? Will they escape what the owners have in mind for them? Will they be strong enough to face their horrors and fears? Can life ever be normal again?

This book will take you on a journey into the most horrible, despicable and humiliating inducing experience any person should never, ever have to go through. Lynnette keeps you engaged with many twists and turns and through many, many raw emotions. This book is a suspense thriller with lots of sex and a little romance, that will leave you on the edge of your seat and make wonder how there is any way there could possibly be a good outcome. Some people may be uncomfortable with the content of this book but if you find your way through it you will enjoy this change of pace story. It is well written and is still a good read.

Always Mine (St. Fleur #2)Always Mine by A.J. Renee
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the second book in the St, Fleur series and I have been waiting to read this book since I finished the first, Widows Aura. Whilst it can be read as a stand alone I strongly suggest you read them in order to get the full effect and understanding of the characters. Widows Aura left off with Sofia & Noah getting engaged and their story continues in this book.

Lindsey is the sexy librarian who is dating Derek, a sweet man but she can’t shake the unknown feelings and familiarity of Marc the sexy friend of her neighbour, Noah. There is some great chemistry between the two but they have a love hate relationship and they seem to antagonise the hell out of each other without even trying. Lindsey finds herself smack dab in the middle of a love triangle without even trying. Add a stalker to the mix and you have one scared, confused and a once strong woman now fighting to keep her independence and possibly her life.

Marc’s desire for Lindsey is unexplainable yet familiar and once they make the connection he knows why. He has never forgotten the girl from his past his first love. Once he knows the truth he decides he has to have her and will stop at nothing to have her. Marc is ever the perfect man and loves unconditionally all those he cares about. He will also go out of his way to ensure all he loves is kept out of harm’s way. Whilst trying to solve the mystery surrounding the stalker Noah’s past comes crashing back in a way he never saw coming which could leave his relationship with Lindsey in trouble.

Once again AJ has written a story that that pulls you into the lives of each and every character and making you feel like you are with them every step of the way. The story is weaved nicely together with lots of suspense, suspects around the corner, tears, fears, love, laughter and great friendship with lots of hot and steamy romance. I look forward to reading more from AJ in the future and sharing the stories of those to come.

Deadly Perceptions (The Portal Prophecies #5) by C.A. King – Review by Jenni Bishop

Deadly Perceptions (The Portal Prophecies #5)Deadly Perceptions by C.A. King
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is the fourth installment of The Portal Prophecies, Deadly Perceptions. Each book has revealed a little more to the mysteries that surround Willow and her friends and foes and the truly enchanting world she lives in. Through the many trials and tribulations she has had to endure we see Willow becoming stronger and surer of herself in a way that she never has before. C.A has shown that she has a unique knack for writing multiple story lines, whilst at the same time managing to keep you on your toes every step of the way. You are so wrapped up in the story that before you know it, it has come to an end.

At the end of book three we see Willow separated from her friends and those closest to her. Book four picks right up and we see a young girl becoming a young woman whose growth both personal and magical is amazing everyone. Willow is still in the world of the elves and discovers that you can not judge a book by it’s cover. Somethings so beautiful could mean death. Some things lost may become found. Some things thought myths maybe real. Foes could be friends and friends could be foes. It seems that King Cornelius is still up to his tricks but has upped the anti and he is not the only evil threatening to destroy and rule the worlds.

Whilst Willow is stuck on the world of elves we discover, through the help of her friends left behind that there is more behind the goings on and that Willow is and has always been smack bang in the centre of things, time after time. Will Willow be able to finish her journey? Will she discover things once thought lost? Will she be able to find the helps she needs? Will a right choice be the wrong choice?

There are many interesting twists and turns in this fast paced gripping story that has you spellbound. It is one jammed packed fantasy and folklore abound book that you will not want the story to end. I am hanging for the next installment.

I really liked this book as far as the writing and the way it flowed. It definitely didn’t end the way I thought it would or hoped it would but the ending was satisfying for me. The whole story definitely tugged at the heart strings and felt so real as far as the feelings portrayed. This is my first read by this author and I will be checking out what else she has.

Queen of My Heart (Life Won’t Wait, #1) by Nikki Lynn Barrett – Review by Jenni Bishop

Queen of My Heart (Life Won't Wait, #1)Queen of My Heart by Nikki Lynn Barrett
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Queen of my heart is the first book in the Life Won’t Wait series and it is everything you expect in a love story well almost everything!. This is the first book I’ve read from this author and I really enjoyed it. It will take you on an emotional journey with these characters that you won’t want to put it down.

Quinn Winters has been modeling and acting since a very young age and now she is so tired of being an actress and wants to try her hand at something new. Something that will take her away from her past and give her a fresh start. Quinn now finds herself in Nashville and about to audition for a record label to pursue a singing career. It should be easy, right?

Tucker McGinnis is labelled as the next King of Country, a country music star. He too wanted to leave is past behind with a fresh start and got his wish after winning a reality singing competition. Life should be good but events from the past still leave him hurting and it is affecting his career. But could that be about to change? When he hears the most beautiful voice, it was love at first sound. When this angel literally runs into him, he offers to take her under his wing to help her achieve her dreams. What he soon realises is that she is exactly what he needs to get his career back on track. Little did Tucker know that he would find her and she would become his life, his love, his everything.

But is everything enough when demons will not die? Is everything enough when you need to put yourself first? Is everything enough when you need to discover who you are? Is everything enough when you are exposed to the world?

This book deals with a lot of different issues and is not your average romance. My heart was aching for what our main characters, Tucker and Quinn had to go through and put up with in the lives. But even though they had experienced so much it made them stronger together. You can’t help but fall in love with each and every single one of them.

Not Enough (Parker Siblings, #1) by Leigh Ann Lunsford – Review by Jenni Bishop

Not Enough (Parker Siblings, #1)Not Enough by Leigh Ann Lunsford
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Leigh Ann Lunsford has written a hit with Not Enough which is the first book in the Parker Siblings Series. There is so much depth and emotions in each of the characters and within this story and the world in which Leigh as woven. In particular the feelings and emotions behind Brielle, the one person who has never felt enough.

I loved Brielle from the very beginning, she is smart, sassy, loving, funny and gorgeous but that is not how she sees herself. It is not how everyone else sees her. All she sees is the girl who is never enough. Not enough for anyone to ever truly love and accept who she is. Not even her parents chose her. Brielle and her siblings were raised by their grandparents because of something that happened in Brielle’s past. Nobody knows her secret except for her best friend Cooper who helped her escape that terrible night. Brielle hides her secrets well enough that her family doesn’t see. That is until one man catches her eye. With him she can’t hide anything and decides that he just might be the man to save her. But in the end will he be the one to truly break her, giving credence to the fact she is not enough?

Colby James needed a change and decided to come to town to start a business with his cousin, Tyler. Since he being in town Colby has been spending time with the Parker siblings, as Tyler is dating Addy. When Colby sets eyes on Brielle he finds himself attracted to her, from just one look he finds himself instantly wanting to protect her, to find out everything about this girl. Colby just melts your heart when she shows Brielle that she is enough, enough for him. But heartache finds it’s way to them and Brielle’s heart is ripped from her and torn to shreds.

This is crazy, funny and loving family that are there for one another no matter what and their antics will keep you wanting more. There is also overwhelming heartache and sadness that will have you sobbing right along with them which made me want to slap the hell out of Colby and hang on to Brielle and never let her go..

Terrence: A Short Story (UNDER GROUND #0.9) by Alice Rachel – Review by Bobbi Wagner

Terrence: A Short Story (UNDER GROUND #0.9)Terrence: A Short Story by Alice Rachel
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Terrance: A Short Story (Under Ground #.8) by Alice Rachel is part of the the Under Ground series. I would recommend reading the previous books in this series so that you have some background knowledge of some of the characters. This story is about Terrance which we seen a little bit of in Aiko story. One thing that I enjoy about this author is that we get to see some of the characters from the other books in this series. She also have great character development and her attention to details makes you feel like you are right there. The other thing that I enjoy the most with this authors book is her ability to pull me into the story from the first word. You will enjoy the connect these characters have and they are true to life. Find out what Terrance’s story is.

Terrance Young is no stranger to being bullied, the teasing and harassment is a constant in his life. His family is less understanding of him. They think he choose to become gay just to complicate their lives. The sting is deep from the little rejections that they show him. Just when he thought things couldn’t get worse for him, they passed the Deviance Law. He could be put to death with just one little touch, kiss, or a mere look. He tries to hide his orientation until one night when things seemed to change everything for him. This is when he meets him. He is strong, gorgeous, kind hearted and Terrance feels and instant attraction to him.

Chase Martinez is a rebel from the Under Ground. He is kind hearted and gorgeous. Terrance knows that loving Chase is dangerous but is he worth the chance? He is done hiding and letting people tell him what to do. He wants to be the one to dictate his own life not someone else. He is tired of living in fear. Will he be able to stop himself from falling for Chase?

Terrance is a strong character that has been through so much. The loss of a mother he never knew, having to hide who he really is as a person. I give him a lot of credit for just deciding that he has had enough and starts to fight back. Chase is just as strong but honestly, he just wants to protect what is his even though he won’t acknowledge Terrance as anything. He has his own demons that he is hiding and trying to control. Together these two really make the story flow and the secondary characters just add to the story. You never know which characters you will see in the next book. Find out what will happen between these two, are they meant to be together or will fate have other ideas for them.

I enjoy each and every book in this series by Alice Rachel. I can’t wait to see what comes next. Alice loves spending time with her husband and guinea pigs. When she is not writing, she teaches French, reading and drawing. Once again, this author has created a story that you will totally lose yourself in. You will lose track of time and things going on around you. It is a fast story that you will not want to put down until you see the end. This story will keep you engaged until the end and you won’t want to miss the end! I highly recommend this story and all the rest of this series. You need to see what happens with all these characters!

Holding Lenny by JoRae Andrews – Review by Jenni Bishop

Holding LennyHolding Lenny by JoRae Andrews
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is a sweet romance story where the main characters have strong feelings for each other but feel that they can’t act on anything due to the tragic loss of someone special to both of them and how their family and friends may react to them having a relationship.

Josh loves his life as a firefighter and would do anything for anyone and will always go out of his way to save one of his own. He is every woman’s dream. Josh has always loved Lenny but like the good guy he is he took a back seat for his friend. Josh promised his friend he would always protect and care for Lenny. Josh finally decides he can no longer hide his feelings and sit in the background, he wants to be more than the one who hugs her when she is down. These two have some sizzling hot chemistry and everything Josh does for Lenny just makes you fall in love with him a little more. If Josh could just get her to see him in the same light.

Lenny has suffered tragic loss and been through more than anyone her age should have ever had to go through. Lenny loves her job as an EMT and the firehouse she works at where she is surrounded by guys who are her family. Lenny is trying to get on with her life but feelings she is trying to keep in check come rushing back when one of their own is put in harm’s way. Along with that she is confused about the feelings she is having for her best friend Josh.

Will Josh break down Lenny’s walls? Will Lenny decide it’s time to move on? Can Lenny risk their friendship? Will they finally give in and take the next step?

I enjoyed this sweet love story and I always love reading about the camaraderie of everyone that works at the firehouse and the bonds they have with each other. They really are a family that would watch each others backs and would do anything for each other.

Moments of Pain (Moments to Remember #2) by Ysa Arcangel – Review by Jenni Bishop

Moments of Pain (Moments to Remember #2)Moments of Pain by Ysa Arcangel
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Moments of Pain picks up right where Moments of Joy ended and is every bit as compelling and heart wrenching if not more than the first. Moments of Pain continues to share the strong love between Ivo and Brandy and the lengths that someone is prepared to go for the one they love.

Brandy’s illness is progressing at an alarming rate and Ivo, even with all his medical training, is having to sit by helplessly, and witness it all happening before his eyes whilst being powerless to stop it. But he is right there by her side. Brandy is getting less memory lucid and very frustrated and without involving and letting Ivo know she decides to try the medical experimental testing to cure try to find a cure for her Alzheimer’s. She is willing to do all she can so she can have the life, love and family with the man she loves.

When Brandy awakes everyone finds that the treatment has wiped her memory and she has no memory of the man she loves or things that have happened for a number of years. Ivo’s heart is breaking as he realises the woman he loves doesn’t even recognise him. She doesn’t know who is is or what they shared together, so he does the only thing he can do and that is give her the time and space she needs and is he has to he is prepared to let her go..

Whilst Brandy is feeling alone and terrified and struggling and my heart went out to her, I found it incredibly hard to watch/read the struggles Ivo was going through. It was incredibly sad and the emotions I felt for him were overwhelmingly strong. Ysa is such a powerful writer that she can evoke such strong emotions in someone with just one story. It is a brutally honest and raw look into how this disease can destroy lives. It is a beautiful yet heartbreaking story that is full of so much emotional pain, love and passion, fear and ups and downs. You will most certainly need a box of tissues and a stiff drink just to get through it.

Moments of Joy (Moments to Remember #1) by Ysa Arcangel – Review by Jenni Bishop

Moments of Joy (Moments to Remember #1)Moments of Joy by Ysa Arcangel
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Wow this is probably one of the most hardest emotionally wise book that I have read. Ysa has written a beautiful heart wrenching story of love that truly stands the test of and the meaning of “in love an in sickness”. Moments of Joy is the first book in the Moments to Remember series which brings together Brandy Curtis and Ivo Ferrero.

Brandy has lived with a history of Alzheimer’s affecting the women in her family and has always played it safe when it comes to relationships. She has always had hookups, no strings attached and has been truly afraid to live her life with any real emotional bonding. If only she could open herself up to more but she can’t because of this horrible disease that is lurking in the background threatening to take her away. The fear is robbing her of a fulfilling life.

What starts as a holiday fling, a one night stand with a hot and extremely sexy doctor could turn into something more. Ivo Ferrero has never meet anyone like the beautiful woman who wandered onto his life and one night is not enough for him. As hard as she is trying to push him away, he pushes back and the feelings between the two is growing stronger and stronger. She is it for him if only he could break down her walls.

This story will make you laugh and definitely cry. It shows that love can overcome many things if you are willing to open yourself up to more. It also give you a look at how Alzheimer’s affects people’s lives. I like the way we saw the story through both points of view and the beautiful way things developed. This is one powerful story that will keep you on the edge of your seat from start to finish and makes you want to take the characters into your arms and take it all away.

Waiting to Fall (The Waiting Duet: Book 2) by Alyson Reynolds – Review by Jenni Bishop

Waiting to Fall (The Waiting Duet: Book 2)Waiting to Fall by Alyson Reynolds
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Waiting to Fall follows on from Waiting to Breathe and Olivia and Nate’s story continues in the background of this book. They are still very much in love and going strong which brings a smile to my face whenever Finn sees or hears anything remotely about their sex life.

Finn and Cora are our main characters in this story. As much as they give it to each other and there is always tension between the two, they are best friends. I loved the way they were with each other and could not wait to see what happens between them. Finn is a great friend and brother who is caring, loving, sweet and smart. Oh and did I mention sexy? Finn would do anything for those he cares about. Definitely a boy you would want to take home to mum.

Cora is also a caring, loving, sweet and funny woman who is also there for the ones she loves but she doesn’t see herself that way. What she sees someone who is broken, insecure and damaged. She doesn’t do relationships and when the quiet gets too much she turns to Finn. Finn knows the horrors she endured and has always been there for her.

After Finn and Cora hook up confusion is the name of the game. Taking things just that one step further leaves them both reeling with unsure emotions. Finn is Cora’s best friend, Olivia’s twin brother should they embark on a relationship and things go south where would that leave things? They are both afraid of ruining their friendship and Cora has issues she needs to deal with. Both are stubborn but when they are faced with life and death will they both realise what is important in life? Both are worried how Olivia will take their relationship and don’t want to hurt her but doing so may be enough to keep them apart.

This book is set at the same pace as Waiting to Breathe. It is a great story that will have you holding your breath and breaking your heart but at the same time laughing and enjoying the great connection you have found with these characters.

Controlling Darkness (Control #4) by Anna Edwards – Review by Bobbi Wagner

Controlling Darkness (Control #4)Controlling Darkness by Anna Edwards
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Controlling Darkness (The Control Series Book 4) by Anna Edwards is the fourth book in her series, The Control. This is the first book I have read of hers and in this series and I can’t wait to go back and read the others. This story can be read as a standalone but if the others are as great as this one then I recommend reading the entire series. This story is about two people who has painful pasts but that pain can become love. This story is full of action, suspense and of course, hot, steamy romance. One of the things I love about this author is her attention to detail and her development of these characters. These characters will take you on a roller coaster ride of various emotions that will keep you engaged until the end. This story will pull you in from the first word and keep you wanting more from these characters. Find out what happens to these two people as they learn trust and let themselves heal.

Sonia Anderson has just taken a new job as a bodyguard and one that will change her life forever. She is assigned to the role of guarding Amy North, girlfriend of a billionaire, James North. The psychological evaluations don’t show anything about the secrets she holds when she was growing up. Her scars represent a world that is out of her control.

Matthew Carter is sharp, a master at his trade and long time standing bodyguard for James North. His past involves being responsible for the death of a colleague, not just any colleague, his wife. The revelations of the misguided control are explored here in Controlling Darkness.

Sonia and Matthew’s relationship is one that I believe there was attraction from the beginning. They both have pasts that have left scars and demons that need to be dealt with. Will they heal one another? Will they learn to forgive? When they are faced with danger, what will happen to them? Together these two are sweet and strong. She is independent and stubborn. She is strong and can be a little feisty at times. He is strong and dominant. He just wants to keep her safe and help her gain self confidence back that she lost as a child. You will love them together and they really do make this story flow. They complement each other and have a way of pushing the other to deal with things they don’t think they are ready for. The secondary characters are just as awesome. I hope we get to see more from them in the future. They complete the story and help keep it engaging. Find out what happens to this couple as they are faced with their demons, are they safe? Will they find their HEA or will fate have other things in store for them?

This is my first story by Anna Edwards and I know it will not be the last. I can’t wait to go back and read the rest of this series and can’t wait to see what the next installment of this series will bring. Anna lives with her husband, two children and two cats. She spends most of her time writing although she still does some accounting which she has done in the past. She enjoys making and eat cake and taking photographs. You will love how this story just pulls you into their world. You will find yourself getting lost in their world and hoping for them to get their HEA. You will find yourself getting mad at certain times but also needing ice water to cool off in other parts. This story is fast paced and I couldn’t put it down until the end. There are some twists and turns that you won’t want to miss or see coming. I highly recommend this story as I know you will love this story as much as I do.

When Leaves Fall (A Different Point of View Story Book 1) by C.A. King

He wakes up realizing he is laying on dirt. Where is he? Why is he here? Who is he? As memories flood his mind he thinks he remembers better times, but everything is hazy. He tries to leave the small shed he wakes up in and realizes he is trapped by something too tight around his neck, as he cries out he is all of a sudden hit by something, many times, it’s raining, he is soaked and wet and in pain. He hears a name, Ralph, yes this must be his name. What is going on, he hears voices but it seems they can’t hear him, what crime has he committed that has him deserving to be a prisoner like this. Hungry and in pain, it’s getting worse and his flashbacks have him wondering if they are just dreams. If he had a family wouldn’t they be saving him or looking for him?

This is a heart wrenching story, making me feel all kinds of emotions during it and at the end. Written in a way that will stay with me forever when I come across certain situations especially. This is my first book by this author and it has definitely left me wondering about her other work. This was written very well and I can’t wait to check out everything else she has written.

Widower’s Aura (St. Fleur #1) by A.J. Renee – Review by Jenni Bishop

Widower's Aura (St. Fleur #1)Widower’s Aura by A.J. Renee
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Sofia has gifts one that allows her to read other people’s aura’s which has helped her on more than one occasion. She left behind a job that was not healthy for her any longer and decided to start a new in a place called St Fleur. Sofia decides to open her own photography business which after two years is doing quite well. Sofia is a loving soul who draws people to her and she is one of the most loved people in her town. With her besties by her side she is content with her lot. Her Besties have her back and she has theirs. Together they are funny and my type of friends that will have you laughing out loud. One night she looks into the face of a stranger, one too hot to trot man she can’t take her eyes off of. Turns out to hot to trot is the one Lindsey one of her besties has been telling her about, the new hot neighbour.

Noah is hot and so oblivious to the affect he has on woman. He finds himself mesmerized by the beautiful woman he first laid eyes on not long after getting to his new hometown and is determined to stay away. But staying away is much harder than he thought when his daughter Lexi throws a spanner into the works.

I loved the alpha men in this story, so possessive and protective of what they perceive as theirs that had me laughing at them and the woman trying to put them in their place. This book was engaging and had me captivated from the start until the finish. It is a lighthearted love story that has a little mystery, suspense and some drama. I loved all the characters but I just loved Lindsey and Mark’s interaction, that always left me with a smile on my face. With the steam coming of Noah and Sofia it was sizzling, the chemistry was just off the charts. There are also times when you find yourself breaking for some of these characters that you want to wrap them in cotton wool. I am certainly hoping to enjoy the second book as much as I have this one. AJ has written a good book and you should certainly be adding it to your book list.

Intoxication (Blue Line, #3) by Brandy Ayers – Review by Sheri Schrader

Intoxication (Blue Line, #3)Intoxication by Brandy Ayers
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Intoxication by Brandy Ayers is the third book in the Blue Line Series. This is a standalone book but in my opinion, is better enjoyed if the rest of the series is read. The story is about Police Chief Jon Gallo and Camille Artiga. Chief Gallo has dedicated his life to serving and protecting Middleburg. Now he is combating an ever-growing drug ring that has made its way into his town. Upon meeting Camille Artiga, Gallo realizes his life is going to change. She has been pulled into a life of crime and drugs and forced to give up her dream of medical school. Gallo helps her when she is left for dead. Can the two overcome all the odds against them?
I have enjoyed this series and certainly was happy to see a book about Chief Gallo. He is kind, compassionate but knows how to take care of business. He cares about his family, his officers, and the town he protects. Has he finally found his someone special? Camille is tough and innocent all at the same time. She has been used by those she has trusted and finds it hard to trust. Somehow she feels a security with Gallo that she hasn’t felt in a long time.
This has a HEA but is well worth it. I always enjoy Ayers books and this one as well. She has great characters and good story lines. The books are fun to read and are a nice break away from some of the seriousness of the world. We all need more happy endings.

Catching Caroline (Silver Falls Book 1) by Megan Nugen Isbell – Review by Jana Teppih

Catching Caroline (Silver Falls Book 1)Catching Caroline by Megan Nugen Isbell
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Catching Caroline is the first book in Megan Nugen Isbell’s new series Silver Falls. It is the first book I have read by this writer and I was really curious about the book when I read the synopsis.
The story of Caroline Hale and Adam DeLain takes place in a small town in Vermont. I love what the American small towns stand for and the writer successfully conveyed it to all of us! Kudos!
Caroline is Adam’s best friend’s Saywer’s little sister who waitresses at her grandparents diner while going to college. She is a sweet sweet girl who has been in her one and only relationship since she was 16. She does not really understand her own allure. Adam is a small town boy who has made it to the professional baseball league and plays for Red Sox in Boston. He has left the small town behind and is so different from the boy that Caroline used to know and idolize.
The story is about going back to your roots and finding out that a lot has changed but the true essence has not – Caroline is still the sweetest shy girl that makes Adam’s heart beat in overtime and makes him to see her as a grown up woman and not just the little girl that used to follow him around. Caroline needs to dig deep and find out if she can trust Adam as she has seen him parading all those supermodel beauties on his arm since he made it up the ranks to the Red Sox.
It was a well written story that pulls at your heart strings, I got frustrated with Caroline often and I have to admit that I also got frustrated with the writer and actually had hard time to finish the book though I liked the story line! She threw into tailspin with using words that I could not relate to and that jarred me while reading … but that might totally be just my thing… I still think it is a great story and I am looking forward to the next book … I wonder whose it is, there is Erica the sassy cousin and I am sure the older brother Saywer could also have a story and …

A Way Back Into Love (Love, #1) by Veronica Thatcher – Review by Jana Teppih

A Way Back Into Love (Love, #1)A Way Back Into Love by Veronica Thatcher
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A Way Back Into Love is Veronica Thatcher’s debut and the first book in her Love series. It was a great story and great writing for the first book! Who would not love a story of best friends turned lovers even if there is a lot of heartbreak involved … isn’t that what makes the story?!
The story is about Emily Stevens and Derek Thorpe who have been best friends since they first met (since Emily saved Derek’s “bacon”) when they were six years old on their first day of kindergarten. They have been inseparable for fifteen years!
This story is of unspoken feelings and misunderstandings and running away and relationships between parents and their children and … you just name it! It is also about growing up and facing your past and returning home … There is a lot of wreckage to get over, a lot of people impacted by the renewed relationship and I am telling you, it was in no way an easy ride! Be prepared for bowling your eyes out and screaming in frustration and walking away from the book and then coming back and hoping for the best and …
I loved how Veronica used the flashback writing style – it made the story a bit crazy to follow at times BUT at the same time it kept you on your toes and keeping your fingers crossed and every time there was a flashback you went ‘aha, that is what it is …’ I invite you to the lives of Emily and Derek and you will not regret being part of their journey!

Moments of Pain (Moments to Remember Book 2) by Ysa Arcangel – Review by Debi Kircher

Moments of Pain (Moments to Remember #2)Moments of Pain by Ysa Arcangel
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Moments of Pain (Moments to Remember Book 2) by Ysa Arcangel

5 Stars

Oh my goodness, this book..this series!! What an amazing story so far. I’m trying to find words to write this review to give this story the amazing justice it deserves. I’ll start with you must read the first book in this series first or you won’t completely appreciate what is happening in this story.

Brandy Curtis is being pulled down little by little by Alzheimer’s disease, slowly taking everything and everybody she knows and loves from her. In a moment of clarity she makes a decision to submit to an experiment that might just cure her. She doesn’t want to keep putting her husband Ivo through having to watch her suffer from this awful disease, she wants to be happy and build a future for them and have his children and she knows she can’t do this the way she is going. With her brother’s help she is whisked away to the UK without Ivo’s knowledge to begin the process.

Ivo Ferrero is watching his wife disappear right before his eyes, every day it’s getting a little worse, he loves her with every ounce of his being and will stand by her no matter what. When he realizes that she is missing and finds out what she has done and where she has gone and why he is devastated but finds a journal entry from her moment of clarity and realizes she is doing it all for him and their life together.

As Ivo arrives in the UK he finds the experiment has already begun and the tests are showing progress but all they can do is wait for her to wake up. As she does Ivo has realized his worst fears..she has no memory of him at all. 11 years of her memory have been erased and Brandy must now try to figure out who she is and deal with dreams of this man that she can’t remember but knows she feels safe when he is near.

This story is heart wrenching yet hopeful, I held my breath through a lot of this book. It takes the test of love to a whole new level. You almost forget while reading these books that there is another story at play here and watching that play out is messing with my head. I don’t think I have ever needed the last book of a series like I do this one. Thankfully my wait is not too long. This story will stay with me forever, this author has done an amazing job and I will be reading anything she has to offer from this point forward. Read these books, seriously you won’t be sorry.

Catching Caroline (Silver Falls Book 1) by Megan Nugen Isbell – Review by Jenni Bishop

Catching Caroline (Silver Falls Book 1)Catching Caroline by Megan Nugen Isbell
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Caroline has led a sheltered life living in her small town Silver Falls, Vermont. When her boyfriend of many years comes back home after not seeing him for six months, her heart is broken. I definitely wanted to punch him… But it is when an unexpected friend of her brothers, Adam DeLain a Boston Red Sox baseball player, returns to Silver Falls and onto their farm for the summer, that Caroline discovers more than she ever thought possible. At first Adam is his annoying self, the annoying friend of her brothers that she followed around as a little girl and the boy that she has known all her life but after some time she discovers that he is so much more and that he is now one sexy man. Similarly Adam realises that Caroline is no longer the little sister of his best friend, she is no longer a little girl, she is now a sweet and gorgeous woman and enough for him to love. But can he make her realise that?

I enjoyed the story that Megan has weaved and certainly the characters. Catching Caroline is the first book in the series and is a sweet romance story where the main character Caroline Hale has yet to discover the world but also to believe in herself and that she is enough. She has been torn down and thrown away by someone she thought loved her. The sad fact that people can be so cruel is a part of life but having it thrown at you all the time wears away your confidence and lets the self doubt in. I just wanted to take away Caroline’s pain but at times I wanted to slap her for letting others making her feel this way. Her ever present cousin and best friend is there to help pick up the pieces every step of the way and often making you laugh with her antics, out there ways and comments. I think she added just the right amount of comic relief the story needed with her sassy, honest and direct ways. I definitely can not wait for the next installment to this series.
