BELOVED (21st Century Courtesan, #3)BELOVED by Pamela DuMond
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I have been waiting for the release of this book so I was really excited to finally read it and it was absolutely worth the wait! I have absolutely LOVED this series so far and the author blew me away with the third book BELOVED!! It was everything I wanted and more! I was hooked from beginning to end and I couldn’t put it down. I love the darker side of romance and this book definitely fulfilled that for me! The characters were great; I loved Evie and her potential suitors! Even I didn’t know which one I wanted for her! There were some great twists; some great romance and some even better steamy scenes!!
I absolutely cannot wait for the next book in this series! I have a feeling it’s going to be a good one! I 100% recommend BELOVED and the 21st Century Courtesan series! The books are dark and gritty and absolutely fantastic reads!!

Journeys Through SpaceTime (Journeys Through Book 1) by James Talisman – Review by Katie Matthews

Journeys Through SpaceTimeJourneys Through SpaceTime by James Talisman
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Journeys Through Spacetime was such a fantastic read! I was instantly pulled into the story through the author’s imaginative ad creative writing style. This is the author’s debut novel and I am really looking forward to seeing where he takes this series. The storyline is complex but I really found that I was able to become fully absorbed into what I was reading. I’m not usually a fan of sci-fi stories but I did actually really enjoy this one and I am definitely looking forward to reading more!
The characters in the story were really interesting to read about, and being told form multiple points of view enabled me to begin to understand the role each of them played in the story. The story as whole was beautifully detailed and I could definitely tell how much work the author had out into the story.
As I said earlier I am really looking forward to the next book in the series and I would absolutely recommend this book to other readers!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This was an awesome read! I was hooked from beginning to end! It was full of action and everything I’ve come to love from this author! It was really well written and I think probably my favourite from this series to date! I loved reading along with the Raven Group to see just if they could work out what had happened – I was left guessing on many occasions and I loved that the author was able to put in so many twists and turns! I liked that the story was told from multiple points of view. I loved seeing the characters from previous stories back again and I guess this could be read as a standalone I 100% recommend reading the whole series! Its jam packed full of action with fantastic characters!

Jake Wolfe Series Bundle Box Set (Jake Wolfe #1-3)Jake Wolfe Series Bundle Box Set by Mark Nolan
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is a fantastic collection of stories – I love Jake I think he is an awesome lead character, he is a determined person and very meticulous in what he does. I love his ‘relationship’ with Cody! I love the way people form such close bonds with their dogs. The author has created such a multi-dimensional story that I just couldn’t put it down; he kept me guessing the whole way through with his rich detailed writing full of twists and turns. The multiple points of view in the story give for a full rounded read and the characters, as expected, were well developed.
Each of the books in this box set see’s Jake (and not forgetting Cody) tackle some interesting cases! They are all definitely worth a read!

Set it Free (Fallen Eagles MC Book 3)Set it Free by T. Birmingham
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book was amazing!!!! I love this author and everything of hers that I have read so far – I was really excited to get my hands on this, the third book in the Fallen Eagles MC series. I will say that unlike the others in the series this book took a little longer to get into, the author definitely made me work for it but I LOVED that about it and it was definitely a little more emotional than I was anticipating – I shed a few tears along the way! I was so deeply connected with the characters, especially Spring, that I was living the story along with them. I laughed with them and I 100% cried with them! I desperately wanted Spring to see how much Callum/Casper wanted to be there for her!
This series, I think, has to be one of my favourite MC series and I would definitely recommend it to readers who love this genre! You won’t be disappointed if you one click this book and series today!

Second Chance (The Flowers in December Trilogy, book 3) by Jane Suen – Review by Katie Matthews

Second Chance (Flowers in December #3)Second Chance by Jane Suen
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

After reading the other books in this trilogy I have been waiting to get my hands on the final instalment and I wasn’t disappointed at all! I absolutely love the characters and have enjoyed following their lives. I think this has to be my favourite from the set; I love Connor and everything that he has been through. He is genuinely a lovely character and I definitely wouldn’t complain if I had a Connor in my life! As with the other books this might be a short story but it’s definitely not short on the detail! I was engaged form beginning to end and I 100% recommend it! I love Ms Suen’s writing style, she always engages me and I find her books a pleasure to read.
Second Chance could be read as a standalone but I would highly recommend reading them in order – you won’t be disappointed! I look forward to reading more from Ms Suen again in the future!

The Fat Girl's Guide to Loving Your BodyThe Fat Girl’s Guide to Loving Your Body by K.L. Montgomery
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book was a joy to read, I absolutely loved it! I love Ms Montgomery anyway she is one of my favourite authors and I have read many of her books but this one was different in that it was like delving into someone else’s life who you have never met personally and thinking about how much you actually have in common. There were things in this book that I have probably said and felt on a daily basis. I loved the way the authors amazing writing style came across even in something that is so different to her normal books – I am so glad I chose to start my 2020 reading journey with this one! There were definitely some great inspirational quotes in this book that I will use from now on!
I 100% recommend this book – it really is a brilliant read and definitely not one you will be disappointed with!

The Ash Park Series Boxed Set (Books 1-3) by Meghan O’Flynn – Review by Katie Matthews

The Ash Park Series Box Set (Books 1-3): Famished, Conviction, and RepressedThe Ash Park Series Box Set (Books 1-3): Famished, Conviction, and Repressed by Meghan O’Flynn
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

4 stars

This box set includes the first 3 books in the wonderfully dark and twisted Ash Park series and what a collection of books it is! I really enjoyed all three of the books in this set; they were all exciting, dark and gripping reads! I am certainly looking forward to the next books to come!
I loved Meghan O’Flynn’s writing style; she had me on the edge of my seat on more than one occasion!
The three books in this box set are Famished, Conviction and Repressed.

Famished

This was such an intriguing read, a little out of my usual comfort zone but I found myself captivated about what was going on and trying to guess what was going to happen. I really have to applaud the author for her eerie writing, the hairs stood up on my arms a few times whilst I was reading. Not being my usual kind of read mean that I hadn’t quite guessed the ending but I don’t think I would have anyway – the ending was brilliant and totally unexpected. The author did a great job of keeping everything hidden until the right time. It did take me a little bit of time to get used to who was speaking during the story as it is written from different ones however it is well worth staying with it.

Conviction
The story was well written and full of excitement and action. I love that the storyline is both complex but easy to follow and the characters are compelling and captivating. I liked Shannon I thought she was a very strong female lead.

Repressed
Wow, what a read! I think I am still trying to process most of the book – I’m definitely glad I read it in the day!! It was dark, gritty and whilst I don’t condone the things that happen in the story it is after all a story, and one that was very well written. The book honestly left me on the edge of my seat on more than one occasion and I did have to put it down a few times to gather my thoughts! The characters were complex, Morrison and Petrosky worked well together.
I thought that the story was well paced and it was extremely well written. It’s definitely not for the faint-hearted but the author has done an amazing job with telling such a twisted story that absolutely captivated me from beginning to end. The action never stops and I couldn’t turn the pages quick enough so I could see what was going to happen.

A fantastic box set and one that I highly recommend!

Somebody in the Neighborhood by Judy Moore – Review by Katie Matthews

Somebody in the NeighborhoodSomebody in the Neighborhood by Judy Moore
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I have read a few books by this author now and I know that I am going to be in for an intriguing read and Somebody in the Neighbourhood was no exception. I was engaged form the very beginning until the end. There was a great level of suspense that ran through the book and I loved guessing what was going to happen. Ms Moore always manages to keep me guessing throughout her stories with some great twists and turns. I really liked Dawn – the main character in the story – she was determined to find out what had happened to her aunt. Alongside Dawn were some great secondary characters that I felt really added something to the story – they were all really well developed.
I would highly recommend Somebody in the Neighbourhood to anyone who loves a good crime story – I definitely don’t think you will be disappointed!

Singles and Other Singularities (The woman Scientist Trilogy 2 – The Italian Saga Book 8) by Gaia B Amman – Review by Katie Matthews

Singles...And Other SingularitiesSingles…And Other Singularities by Gaia B. Amman
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I really enjoy reading stories by this author; she never fails to pull me into whatever I am reading. She has a really nice, relaxed writing style. I think because the subject of the story was so close to my heart I found I was really invested in what I was reading. I loved the humour side to the story it sliced through some of the more serious parts and really lifted what I was reading and made it more entertaining. I really like Leda so I was really looking forward to reading more about her, I admire her drive to succeed in her career but I also deep down really want her to find love and have a good work/life balance – I think she is genuinely a lovely person.
An entertaining story that I really enjoyed! As always I look forward to reading more from this author again in the future.

Misplaced: Joined: Book TwoMisplaced: Joined: Book Two by Mara Gan
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Misplaced is the second book in this series and again another enjoyable read from Mara Gan. As soon as I started this book I again was captivated by the authors writing, her imaginative writing style transported me into the story and the loves of the characters. I was really engaged in what I was reading from beginning to end. I love Meda’s character, there is just something about her that draws me to her, she is strong and stubborn yet to the people she cares about she is willing to do anything. I loved the twists and turns this story took – I definitely wasn’t expecting some of them and I was glued to the pages hoping that it would end how I wanted it to!
I would definitely recommend reading this series in order. I am looking forward to reading more from this author again in the future.

Naughty & NiceNaughty & Nice by Phoebe Alexander
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Naughty & Nice is the fourth book in the Spicetopia series and what a wonderful addition it was! I have loved this series so I was really looking forward to reading this instalment and I wasn’t disappointed at all! Micah and Natalie’s story was a fantastic read; it had everything in it that i’ve come to expect from this author, wonderful characters with a side order of spice! It was great to see characters for the previous three stories again and whilst this book can be read as a standalone I would highly recommend reading them in order, you definitely won’t be disappointed with them! I really loved seeing the connection between Micha and Natalie deepen over the story and as I’ve experienced with this author in the past there’s always things that the characters go through or have been through that make you think about things and this story was no different.
Another wonderful read from one of my favourite authors – as always I look forward to more from Ms Alexander again in the future!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I was really excited to read this novella after reading and loving Joe Football and it didn’t disappoint at all. I loved seeing the characters back again and reading about their summer! Autumn Sand is absolutely one of my favourite authors so whilst this book is only a novella because of the type of author she is, it was really well written and there was just enough detail in it to keep me interested. There were also a few small unexpected twists in the story which I loved! It could be read as a standalone but I think to fully understand the characters and their background I would definitely recommend reading Joe Football first.
Summer Break was another wonderful ready from Autumn Sand and one that I highly recommend!

What a wonderful collection of winter time stories! There is definitely something for everybody in this anthology – from paranormal to sweet romance.
One of the stories I particularly enjoyed was Poinsettias for Carly by Michele Sims. I enjoy second chance romances so this one was always going to be a great story for me and throw in Christmas time and it ticks every box! Although this was a short story it wasn’t lacking in anything at all – it was well written with characters that were developed nicely. I loved Carly! I thought that she was a great character. She’s been through some tough times but she absolutely stands up for what she believes in! Even if that means standing up to the man who she shares a past with! This really was a lovely story and well worth a read from this anthology!

If ever there was a book I could ask to be written it would be this one because not only is it co-written by one of my favourite authors but it is also a holiday time story – my all-time favourite time of year! I was so excited to get my hands on this story and I wasn’t disappointed at all! I loved every second of it! Ok so maybe the story was a little predictable but I didn’t care at all!!! I loved the setting for the story and I loved the characters. In my opinion this is the perfect Christmas read that gives you all the feels! The writing as I expected was brilliant and it was hard to tell that it was written by two authors, their writing styles blended together seamlessly.
I 100% recommend the Holiday Terminal was a wonderful romantic and heart-warming read for this holiday season!

This series just continues to get better and better, I thought I loved book 1 (which I did by the way) and then book 2 came along, I thought that was my favourite and then along comes book 3 and Ms Alexander has just taken the series to another level! I was hooked from beginning to end – I loved every single thing about it. I loved the mystery that the author threw into this one alongside the ever present steaminess between the characters! I LOVED Neve and Enya! They definitely loved to hate each other! They had a great relationship going on between them even if it wasn’t always plain sailing between them! I loved guessing what was going to happen in this story when the grand opening of Spicetopia is seemingly being sabotaged!
I am so excited to read the next book in the series – I cannot wait to get my hands on it! Fire & Ice is a 100% one click recommendation from me!!!

From the Ashes is the third and final book in the Ashes to Ashes series and was an amazing read! The action begins right from the get go and it definitely doesn’t stop until the very end. I would absolutely recommend reading this series in order to fully appreciate it. I love this authors writing, she is able to drag me into her stories straight away – she has a thrilling writing style that keeps my interest throughout. I have to say, I think this book may be my favourite from the series, I loved the first two but Ms Holloway definitely took this thrilling read to the next level. There were some great twists and turns in the story and I loved that I was kept guessing from beginning to end. I have loved reading about Charlotte in this series, she is a fantastic character!

My Life Series: Prequel to The Brothers of Camelot by Necie Navone – Review by Katie Matthews

My Life Series: Box Set: Prequel to Brothers of CamelotMy Life Series: Box Set: Prequel to Brothers of Camelot by Necie Navone
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A fantastic 5 star box set that I highly recommend! The three stories included are My Hidden Life, My Tragic Life and My Free Life!

My Hidden Life
This really was a beautifully written story. This is the second book that I have read by this author but this first in this prequel series to the Brothers of Camelot. I really enjoyed reading Alessandro’s story even it was emotional at times. I enjoyed reading her journey of how she became the woman I read about in The Only One. The author’s detailed writing enabled me to be fully invested in the story. I am really looking forward to the next one in the series to find out more about these great characters!

My Tragic Life
! I was so happy that the book did not disappoint! I really, really enjoyed it and again the author dragged me into the story straight away. This book should definitely be read after book 1 as it is a continuation and begins around 9 months after the incredible ending that the author left us with.
Again I was captivated be Alessandra’s story and it is hard to remember sometimes, because of the life she’s lived and is still living, that she is still only a teenager. The story is a great mix of coming of age situation interspersed with violence – there certainly are twists and turns on every page which kept me riveted from the beginning to the end.
Alessandra is a fantastic character and I am really enjoying her story and seeing her grow up – she is mature far beyond her years and I think as she gets older she really will be a force to be reckoned with! I cannot wait to see what will happen in the next book!!

My Free Life
And so we have the final book in the trilogy of the prequel series to The Brothers of Camelot series and what a final book it is! I have loved this trilogy – I’ve never read a prequel trilogy before and I thought it was such a fantastic idea by the author. Not only do I feel like I know the characters inside out but I am totally ready to carry on with the next part! I love this author’s writing style; she has totally captured my attention with her beautiful writing. Her characters are well thought out and progress so well over the story – especially Aless, I feel like I have grown up with her from the very beginning. I have seen her progress from a child to an almost warrior princess! She is a fantastic character and I love her!
The story is full of action and turn the pages fast enough! I highly recommend this book and the series needs to be read in order!!

I am absolutely loving this series and have been really looking forward to reading the third instalment and I wasn’t disappointed at all! Becca really was a wonderful character to read about and I loved getting to know her and I’m not sure she was what I was expecting but she definitely surpassed the things I thought about her at the beginning of the story! I loved Zack and the two of them together were just adorable! I loved the connection that they had and it was clear that even an extended period apart didn’t dampen down the genuine connection that was there between them. There was a lot of emotion in the story and I definitely was there right with the characters at times! This definitely was a great addition to the Fisher Men series and one that I highly recommend!

San Diego Dead was an action packed story from beginning to end and whilst this isn’t my usual genre to read I have to say I have really enjoyed this series and would highly recommend it to others. The action begins straight away and I find that I am completely hooked on what I am reading. The multiple points of view in the story mean that as a reader I feel like I am truly absorbed by the story. I have to say Cody is just adorable! I love that he is included in the story so much – makes it fun to read amongst the drama and action of Jack’s life! Jack is still as great as always – there is just something about him that draws me to him, I think it’s his dedication to his job and his protectiveness of the people he cares about (not forgetting Cody of course!!)

Amazing!!!! I have really been enjoying this series and getting to know all of the horsemen so I was looking forward to Uriel’s story and I was absolutely blown away by it and I have to say this is definitely my favourite so far! The author really did an amazing job with this new instalment – I really was hooked from beginning to end. There were some extremely unexpected twists and even now I keep thinking back and how I honestly just did not see some of the things coming at all! The book is very cleverly written! I loved Uriel, I don’t think he was what I was quite expecting to be honest and Bekka was a surprise also! I loved getting to know their characters.
I am so, so excited to see where Ms King is going to take book 4 in the series – I cannot wait! Her writing is so vividly detailed that her books are a real pleasure to read at all times! I 100% recommend this book and the series as a whole!

Devil's Dilemma (Satan's Devils MC Colorado Chapter #4)Devil’s Dilemma by Manda Mellett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Yet again another 5 star read from this amazingly talented author! I am absolutely loving this series so far and Devil’s Dilemma was a fantastic addition to it. As always I was completely hooked into what I was reading from beginning to end. I adored Melissa! She was totally a character I could relate too – I thought she was so genuine and real that I really did feel a connection with her and when things were hard for her I felt every single emotion that she did. I loved Pyro! He was such a lovely character! He had a genuine personality and connection it Melissa – he really wanted to be there for her and help her. I really liked the slower pace to this story as I felt like I suited the characters more, especially for Melissa’s character – she was unsure of herself and had low self-confidence so rushing into certain situations really wouldn’t have worked for her.
As always I look forward to more from this author again in the future!

Oh how I loved this story! I was completely hooked from the very beginning and it definitely gave me all the feels whilst I was reading. I have read a few books by this author now and I definitely think that this one was my absolute favourite so far! The characters were just so well thought out and so realistic, I could honestly imagine what was happening whilst I was reading. I felt really involved in their lives as a reader and because of that I felt this deeper connection with them. I loved Rachel and I really did feel for her and the dilemma she faced – what she wanted and her reality really were two different things. I loved Ian – he was so dreamy but his past had me in tears at times! Although Rachel was with Josh I was 100% behind her and Ian being together – I thought they would make THE perfect couple!!
I cannot recommend this story enough – especially if you are looking for one that will give you all the feels and bring out your emotions whilst reading! I can’t wait to read more from this author again in the future!

Elemental Fae Academy: Book Two (Elemental Fae Academy #2)Elemental Fae Academy: Book Two by Lexi C. Foss
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Ever since reading the first book in the series I couldn’t wait to get my hands on the next book (especially after the authors left us on one mighty cliff-hanger) and wow it was totally worth the wait! The authors absolutely took it up a level with the continuation of this series – I was glued to the book from beginning to end. The book begins right where book 1 left off and we are thrown right back in to the action of who had kidnapped Exos! I am trying to decide whether I have the right to be jealous of Claire in this book – I mean she is in a fairly dangerous kind of situation but oh my gosh look who she has protecting her!! Just one of them protecting you would be enough but 5 of them!! And they are all HOT!!! I just love the relationship between them all I find it really interesting! I loved that in this book we got to see more of the secondary characters from book 1 – and they are certainly worth getting to know!
Although this book didn’t end on the cliff-hanger book 1 did I am so excited to read book 3! I cannot wait to see what happens!
Again the writing in this book was seamless you do completely forget that it is two authors writing together – their writing style complement each other perfectly! This is definitely a series that shouldn’t be missed!

A Dark Sparrow Box Set - Books 1-3A Dark Sparrow Box Set – Books 1-3 by India Kells
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This was an AMAZING box set!! I absolutely loved everything about it! The authors writing was phenomenal and each story was a 5 star read for me! The box set included Lost Bastard, Cold Bastard and Wild Bastard – these are the first three books in the Dark Sparrow series and are well worth a read! The series features 6 brothers and if the first three are anything to go by I cannot wait to meet the next three! It’s difficult to choose a favourite book from this box set as each brother has their own story to tell but if I really had to choose one then I think probably Cold Bastard – there was just something about this story which really pulled me in – it was a little more complex than the other two so I think I was really invested in what was happening and had to work a little harder to fully get to know the characters!
This really is an amazing box set that I 100% recommend! I am really looking forward to more to come from this series!

The Complete Fenris SeriesThe Complete Fenris Series by Samantha MacLeod
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The Complete Fenris series is made up of a fantastic collection of stories – each of them were really enjoyable reads! The stories weren’t overly long which I liked and it was great to go straight on to the next without waiting. I actually read the whole series over a couple of days. I really enjoyed the mythology side to the stories mixed in with some romance. The characters were well thought out and detailed. I think out of the stories in the collection my favourite was probably book 1 in the series – The Monsters Lover. It definitely set the scene well for the rest of the series. I loved Sol and Fenris – the connection they had was just so genuine and could really feel it.
I have read other books from this author and I really do enjoy her writing – the stories are easy to read, full of imagination and creativity. I would absolutely recommend this series and I look forward to more from Ms MacLeod in the future.

Friend (What Happens on Campus Series Book 3) by M L Sparrow – Review by Katie Matthews

FriendFriend by M.L. Sparrow
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Friend is the third book in the What Happens on Campus series and was a great addition to what has been a fantastic to read series! The books do however need to be read in order in my opinion. Terri’s story was a really emotional read – she was always so sure of herself until the attack that she encounters. Although this made her feel vulnerable I thought she still had this strength about her that I admired and this clearly attracted Jet to her even though he has always maintained that he wanted nothing more than friendship. I really liked this pairing – it just felt right in my opinion. I think he genuinely did want to help re-build her confidence in light of what happened and this just opened his eyes to maybe wanting more from than just friendship.
As always, with this author, I was fully invested in what I was reading from beginning to end and I am really looking forward to more from M.L. Sparrow in the future!

Battling Beckett: A Contemporary Step Brother Romance by T. Christensen – Review by Katie Matthews

Battling Beckett: A Contemporary Step Brother RomanceBattling Beckett: A Contemporary Step Brother Romance by T. Christensen
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I do like the forbidden romance genre so I was really looking forward to reading Battling Beckett and I was not disappointed at all. I really enjoyed the story – I thought that it was well written, had a good pace and flow and I really liked the characters. The story was maybe a little predictable but I honestly didn’t mind because I was fully invested in Greer and Beckett’s story especially the deeper into the book I got. The author had worked really hard to make the characters relatable and this really helped me as a reader to understand their feelings towards each other.
I would definitely recommend this story to others especially if you ate a fan of step-brother romances – it was definitely one of my favourites in this genre! I have read stories by this author previously and I shall look forward to reading more in the future.

I have read a few books by this author now so when I read the blurb for this book I had no hesitation in jumping straight in and overall I wasn’t disappointed! It had the author’s great writing style which I enjoy and some great characters who I found quite easy to connect with. It might not be my favourite book but her but I would still 100% recommend it!
I loved the setting for the story and thought the author did a great job of really bringing Paris to life through her descriptive writing. I could completely imagine some of the scenes that she was setting. I think the twin switching was probably a little predictable but it was still an enjoyable read. I liked Abby she was the kind of character who is a little naive and actually switching places with her sister did force her out of her comfort zone in some respects. Hudson was what I kind of expected from a sexy, billionaire alpha male character but I still couldn’t help but fall for him! He was definitely a guilty pleasure!
Overall a really nice read, I read it quite quickly as I was completely invested in what I was reading. As mentioned earlier I would definitely recommend this book to other readers!

Darcy's Caution (Pride & Prejudice & Racecars Book 3)Darcy’s Caution by Zoe Burton
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I am a huge motorsport fan so as soon as I saw this book I knew I had to read it and I wasn’t disappointed at all! I was hooked from the very beginning until the very last word! I was completely swept up Will and Liz’s story – I thought they were such a sweet couple perfect for each other so when their relationship was threatened by Will’s stalker I was on the edge of my seat waiting to find out what was going to happen! I loved the suspense that ran through the story – it definitely kept me guessing the whole way through. Although this is the third book in the series it can be read as a standalone however I absolutely want to go and read the others now – I definitely have the taste for this series! Darcy’s Caution is the first book that I have read by Ms Burton and I really enjoyed her writing style – the story was easy to read with a great flow and pace and it had wonderful characters! I can’t wait to read more from her again in the future!
