The Chosen by Cari Schaeffer is the first book in the Orb Quest series. This is a great start to a series and has me wanting to read more. Gemma is a high school student, who with some of her friends find out they are different from others. This book has something for everyone, mystery, fantasy, action, and friendship. I enjoyed Gemma and her friends. They are normal but special at the same time. They have typical high school problems but also some unusual challenges.
This is a book that I didn’t want to put down and had to finish in one go. I look forward to reading more in this entertaining series soon.

Yearning Young by Deidre Huesmann is the second book in the Burning Britely series. The more I read about Braeden and Jeff the more I fall in love with them.

Braeden is fiercely protective of the people he loves and he shows that time and time again, especially with his siblings. He doesn’t have the type of parents all kids deserve and should expect to have. He’s still trying to get everything figured out, his life, how to take care of his siblings, how to deal with his parents and how to keep Jeff safe.

Jeff is so lucky to have the parents he does. You don’t need money if you have the love and support of your family and that is what Jeff has. His mother made me laugh out loud a few times, his Dad is stoic but you have no doubts on his feelings for his son.

I want more of this series and adorable couple.

Desperately Seeking Sixty-Nine: A Spicy Romantic Comedy About the Afterlife, is the first book in the Green Room Chronicles. It is also the first book I have read by this authors, J.D. Frettier. At first, I was really worried about the book, thinking it would be super kinky, due to the title. (Side note,it wasn’t the 69 I was thinking it meant!) I don’t mind a little spice, and this had the right amount. But most important, it was hilarious! This book made me laugh so much, and it was a super easy, quick read. The plot is funny, and the things that go on in the afterlife are very creative. I love the way it was written, and have already moved on to the 2nd book in the series. I highly recommend this book to anyone that needs a good entertaining story, that will make you laugh!

Age of Saints is the seventh book in the Druid’s Brooch Series from Christy Nicholas, don’t panic if you haven’t read the other six yet, or in order, these novels can be read as standalones. Of course your reading experience will always be enhanced when you become invested in a series from the very beginning. I have had the pleasure of doing so with this one and I am glad that I have been just reading in order etc. This one was not my absolute favorite of the series so far. Nothing to do with the writing or the characters, I just really had a difficult time with getting into this books flow. However, this is one of the reasons that I do love the series… these are all rich in historical detail and combines that with the fantasy world to bring to life these fantastical stories that have made up the Druid’s Brooch Series. I think for me however, this set of time was just one I was not as ‘interested’ in so to say and that may have been my catch. Otherwise the characters were fantastic, and the world-building amazing as always! I felt as if I was right there at times. I’m looking forward to the next book in the series!

The Chosen: Book One: The Orb Quest Series by Cari Shaeffer

Four Stars

The weight of the world is on four teenagers shoulders. Chosen to find the orbs and save the world. Can you imagine at 17 having to fight a battle you were predestined to fight? The amount of growth it took these kids to put away childish things and become heroes. The author did a great job keeping them kids while they faced this evil journey. Though they matured they still had teenager moments. Allie had to be my favorite at moments she was real and predictable. Gemma was harder to figure out. I’m still holding out judgment for the guys. In the story the author gives you a taste of what this series could evolve into. The possibilities are endless. I’m excited to see where the author leads us on this mystical adventure.

This is the first book that i have read by this author and i thought it was a good start. It was a fun story that kept my interest throughout and i felt like even though it was a short read, everything was wrapped up nicely. The characters were enjoyable and i liked the emotions that were brought out in this story. I am looking forward to reading more by this author and i would recommend this to someone looking for a fun and quick read.

Claimed Royalty: (Crowned and Claimed Series, Book 1) By Betty Shreffler. From Page one I knew I was in for quite the ride. This story may not be for everyone but I’d still recommend it to anyone if you want a story to sink into. With wonderful characters and a storyline that keeps you on the edge your seat, you won’t be disappointed in this story. When you have no choice but to live a certain way life can be very limited and hard to deal with but times change and people grow. The author does a wonderful job of writing characters that readers fall and root for. The attention to details is amazing and I’m so glad I picked up this book. I’m giving this book a four star review and recommend it.

Back In the Ring is the fourth book in The Predator Series by Brooke May. It is a wonderful second chance romance, with lots of emotion, new beginnings, a little drama, superb characters, and lots of sizzle. It is the fourth book in a series of standalones- but having said that there are recurring characters who have had their own book/s previously, who also make appearances in this book (and each others). They really are worth getting to know, too. You don’t need to have read the other three books before starting this one, but they are great stories in their own right and do help to build a bigger picture for you.
Bijou Augustine is a widow who lives in a small town with her 12 year old daughter. With the downturn of the economy she has been struggling to keep her youth centre afloat. It was her late husband’s dream, and his legacy- so she’s determined to do everything she can to keep it running. She begins a fundraising campaign to find donations that will help keep the doors open. The centre desperately needs some repairs and is at the top of her list of priorities. When her best friend’s new neighbour turns out to be a handyman, things start to get interesting.
Noah Stone lost his wife a year earlier, leaving him a single father to his two and a half year old son. He is a broken man, with secrets that will soon come into play. He is a great father, and a caring man. But he has pushed people away and taken a step back from the world. So, is he really ready to move on? What happens when secrets are revealed? Will it bring them closer or drive them apart for good?
I really enjoyed this story. The characters are really well developed, interesting, and endearing- Claire and Holder were a great addition to the story. They helped to bring a realism and believability to the story- as well as some cuteness. And everyone needs a friend like Mara- she was hilarious.
Looking forward to seeing what Ms. May does next.

In this short novel, J.D. Frettier introduces us to Bonnie and Peter who met in 1969 at Woodstock. Their lives were filled with free love and a great sex life. When Bonnie dies unexpectedly, she finds herself somewhere between Heaven and Hell called The Green Room. Bonnie is desperate to find a way to contact her grieving husband before their adult children begin going through her personal items. Although their son would not be phased, their up-tight daughter would be horrified if she found Bonnie and Peter’s stash of sex toys. Can she figure out how to contact Peter in time, and if she learns how to communicate with him, what else can she do?

This was a light hearted and quick read that made me chuckle out loud. I’ll admit that I am not normally a huge fan of short novels like this, but J.D. Frettier grabbed my attention and left me anxious to read more. I cannot wait to sit down with book 2!

The Protector: MAC (Cover Six Security, Book 1) by Lisa B. Kamps is a stunning military romantic suspense. The author immediately starts the story with action and drama. There is a mystery waiting to be unfolded and as the pieces begin to fall away, the story gets more and more interesting. This is an excellent start to the Cover Six Security series. Lisa B. Kamps laid out additional supporting in the series that are each uniquely entertaining and appealing in their own ways. Following along with Mac and TR, the story provides with unmitigated chemistry that is about to blow it’s lid straight off. I loved the characters, the story line and I’m already anxiously awaiting the next books in the series.

There is no limit to the amount of laughter each of these stories will generate for you as you read. In Dick Slip, Rafe – a television personality and Andy – CEO in the industry start off the collection. Attraction and steaming chemistry are present whenever these two cross paths within the story. However, can these two survive the media and the aftermath of the slip? In Nip Slip, the sides switch with Riley – a stunning model and Tate – a magazine owner are now in the limelight on how to remedy the situation that one little slip has unleashed. The Protector: MAC (Cover Six Security) by Lisa B. Kamps was a pretty okay fast pace read, that kept me on my toes.

My first read from this author, I didn’t know what to expect. After a little bit of an exciting opening, and me being a little too critical, I settled in quite nicely, and I could not put this book down.

Okay you’re probably wondering why I was critical, I teach cold water survival so I may have been sitting there going like.. he should be doing this, not that, what the hell don’t take her clothes off… and so on.. and then I was like, okay panic has set in, he’s not thinking right, and once I got that into my head, and calmed down I fell into the easy writing, the steamy flow and the dangerous mystery.

I have to say, though this was the sixth book in the series, it did read easy like a standalone. Though were somethings that I didn’t quite get, but all in all, I loved the plot, the danger and the hotness that was Mac, and all the boys, I mean men, were all hot. I loved all the different personalities, and the strong team work.

Overall this book was worth the chance, and I will be checking out the rest of the books in this series. So please take my super high recommendation and my stamp of approval, that you will fall deep into this action pack, steamy read.

An Appointment (Summer in New York Book 4) by Lindsay Marie Miller is a contemporary romance. The opening chapters of this story start off in such a way that draw your attention and pique curiosity. Two characters who may not believe in happily ever after noting past events that have shaped their present. Events have Savannah and Preston crossing paths in multiple ways, as if fate is throwing up a flag to get their attention. Lindsay Marie Miller has captivated me with this story, from the past to the present, to where this story could possibly go. These characters were more that one-dimensional with strong family ties that have influenced their expectations from life. A great story from an author that can deliver time and time again.

Anytime that I have a chance to read something by Lindsay Marie Miller, I jump at it, Her writing style, charaters, and stories are alwas so well thought out. Highly structured and incredibly detailed. That being said, An Appointment is no different. I try not to hold some of my favorite authors on a pedestal because even (in my opinon) the greats can fall, or have an off book, but Lindsay Marie Miller has yet to have one.

Savannah and Preston are two characters whose fire you can feel from the pages. Savannah is quick-witted, independently motivated, and hard headed. She is recovering from heartache and divorce when Preston stolls into her life and boy, does he ever stoll.

Preston is a tall glass of water. LIke Savannah, he has sworn off new relationships, but he soon realizes that is a very loney road. When he meets Savannah, he feels a kinship in his soul that he simply cannot ignore.

This Contempary Romance will set fire to your kindle and light your heart with passion and pull at those tender heart stings. a 5 star read all around and a high recommendation from me!

Desperately Seeking Sixty-Nine is the first book in the Green Chronicles series written by J.D. Frettier this is a short novel with great characters that are well developed and a great plot.

Bonnie McMillan and Peter Hampton meet at Woodstock and begin their free-spirited love-filled journey with each other.

We fast forward forty-seven years. Bonnie unexpectedly passes after a night of hot sex and is whisked up to Purgatory, ‘The Green Room’ as they call it. Bonnie’s best friend meets her at the pearly green gates and the fun begins, from body sculpting to channeling.
We get to follow Bonnie on her erotically incorrect quest to re-connect with the love of her life. Or at the very least, make sure the sex toys are hidden before the kids start sorting through her things!
This is a great short read and I can’t wait until book two in this series comes out… I highly recommend this book.

Lights, Camera, Action ( Paranormal Talent Agency Book 1) by Heather Silvio. This is a great, short Paranormal mystery. Its the story of Catherine Rodham who moves across the country to open the West Coast branch of Peterson Talent Agency in Las Vegas. Shortly after a client if found murdered and Catherine is stumped as to what to do. Alex Moore is a Las Vegas Actor with a secret that he wants Catherine and her agency to help with. They are immediately drawn to each other, the chemistry is on fire but Catherine knows she has to help Alex first. He’s been accused of murder and they need to work together to solve these murders before Catherine losses her heart and Alex losses his freedom. This is a short fun read. I can’t wait to read the next book.

IF THE SHOE FITS is the 3rd in “The Liberty Lawrence” and I strongly recommend reading them in order; if for no other reason than to understand who Liberty is as a human being. She truly is laugh out loud funny even though she doesn’t mean it…

““I notice from your resume, you don’t have any experience in the fashion industry.” “Not exactly on paper… But I do LIKE fashion. In fact, I love it. I wear fashionable clothes all the time and I always like to keep up with the latest looks.”…I lift the Gucci bag a little higher in my lap to give her a better view.”

As with the other stories in this series, this book has mystery and drama (lighthearted of course) and Liberty certainly keeps others on their toes.

This is not a heavy read. It’s the perfect light read for a sunny day. While Liberty is a strongly established character, the author has a way of weaving secondary characters into very important roles. The dialogue is witty, the scenes all move the story in a forward motion and I stayed entertained from beginning to end.

I would recommend this series to book clubs and knitting circles alike.

Desperately Seeking Sixty Nine: A Spicy Romantic Comedy about the Afterlife ( The Green Room Chronicles Book 1) by J D Frettier. This is the best book. I laughed, I cried and I couldn’t put it down. Its the story of 1969, Woodstock where Bonnie & Peter meet and begin their life long quest for love. They think “What happens at Woodstock, Stays at Woodstock” not so much! 47 years later Bonnie dies unexpectedly after a passionate night & whisked to Purgatory. She meets her best friend Dee at the Green Pearly Gates and her quest to reconnect with her soul mate begins. 69 is brought up several times in the book and it has special meaning to it. This is such a fun book and I loved every minute of it. I don’t want to say much more as not to spoil it for you all. Its the best story and I can’t wait to read the next one.

I loved reading this book, it is filled with so much detail and fantasy that it drew me in from the beginning and kept me entertained throughout. This story follows Conall and his sister Liann, he is very loyal and protective of her. Conall made a promise to his dying father and he wants to make everything ok for her. In this wonderful journey we are taken on we encounter danger from more on than one person, wonderful animals and we get to enjoy their strong unbreakable bond. The books in this series can be read as a standalone, but it is my suggestion that you read the entire series because they are all detail rich stories that you won’t want to miss out on. They will take you on a magical journey. The author does an exceptional job making you feel like you are in the story with her wonderful storytelling. I highly recommend this book.

This sci-fi romance read is my first read from Gaia B. Amman, and I’m so glad that I got to experience this read! I didn’t expect to enjoy this read as much as I did, I was captivated right from the start, it was engaging and a refreshing read. Politics isn’t something I normally read about, but everything else that happened in this read balanced it out and I found my self utterly drawn to this book, and its characters. It had many twists and turns, but the one thing I wanted more of was action, every time there was action it was over within a second and I wanted it to build but nonetheless, it was a vividly mentally visual read.

I loved the concept of each of these characters and their nicknames and the real meanings behind them.
I loved Naira’s character she is determined and confident and knows what she wants but she is made even better when Lethal comes into the picture. These two share something so powerful, special, intimate and intense, but boy oh boy is amazing to read! There are so many feelings in this book that are raw and emotional to the reader let alone the characters them self, I’m just so glad that in the end some understanding and love was brought between the two.
I loved everything about this book, and hope after that ending that this isn’t the last we see of these characters and their story.
I highly recommend this read!

Yearning Young is the second book in the Burning Britely series and I became completely obsessed with it! Its such a beautiful coming of age story that gives you all the feels and then some!

This book is written in Braeden’s POV. He has so much going on in his life and it’s completely weighing him down. Jeff is his anchor. Their connection strengthens throughout the book but the challenges that Braeden faces make him question a lot of things. His home life is rough to say the least and Jeff’s friends questions his feelings towards Jeff. You can’t help but fall head over heals for Braeden and find yourself rooting for him and the issues he faces.

This is one of the most beautiful and poignant series I have read in a long time. This should definitely be on everyone’s must read list!

I loved the concept of this book: The fact that there was a green room where you could meet up with loved ones in the afterlife and rekindle your love. It was a perky, positive book with a different outlook to the traditional Heaven/ Hell ideas that we are sold. I liked the main character of Bonnie and her sidekick Dee. I also liked the fact that her husband Peter was able to feel her presence while he was alive and she was in the green room and that they would be able to meet up later to relive the early days of their love. The love scenes were hot but tasteful and plentiful.
It was a short book but the good news is there are more to come from this author. I will soon be delving into the next book…once I’ve brought my temperature back down!

Who doesn’t love a good Rocker Book, and let me tell you, Default Distraction series. Brody is book one by A.S. Roberts and she does NOT disappoint AT ALL!

Default Distraction is the leading band in the US and they all can have anything and everything money can buy them. Brody who is the lead singer in the band loves his band and loves his lie but he is craving something so much more than just fame. He and his bandmates decide to remodel a hotel in a quaint village and one day while running, she sees a beautiful women and right away he feels drawn to her. Amy lives with her Nan and works in her shop. Brody comes into her shop one day and she notices that his accent is English, and when she finally she’s knows she has never seen someone as handsome as him or someone whose voice awakens something inside her. Amy has been hurt in the past and Brody has never wanted someone to see him for him as he does with Amy. Follow these two on a path that will not disappoint.

I highly recommend this book, there is never a dull moment and the sparks with Amy and Brody will leave you speechless. Roberts has given us a rocker romance like no other have read. Her words simply drag you into the story and don’t let you go. The other character introduced show me we are in store for even more amazing reads!!!! This is a five star read that everyone can just dive into!!

Desperately Seeking Sixty-Nine is the first book in the original series titled The Green Room Chronicles by J.D. Frettier. This erotica read is simply one of a kind. It’s captivating, addicting, funny and very entertaining. I was hooked from the first chapter! These characters have left a memorable impression, I look forward to reading more about them in the future!

I dislike parents that don’t know when to let their children go. To let them live and make their own mistakes. Tell them about the dangers in the world but let them choose the path. This story was really long winded. I say that because it took a lot of words to get the point and message across. Orlagh was a brat. I can’t believe she was “in love” after so little time. Then to do what she did to her grandfather! OMG! She made my brain hurt. But I do give her props for sticking to her faith that it was love and that she finding herself. It’s hard to put yourself into the mind of any person in the time that this book was set. To think that you only have so many choices of what you can do or become. Overall I enjoyed the magical and mystical parts of this story the most. I’ve always felt that there is more around us than we can see.

Yearning Young is the second book in the Burning Britely series. You really need to read the first book in order to understand the history of the characters. Yearning Young wraps things up so the story could end here, but I seriously hope there is another one because there could definitely be more.

OMG! I know in my review of the first book I said I wanted to know what happens in their future, but I was not expecting this book. When I read the synopsis, part of me wanted to walk away from reading this story because there were so many ways it could have gone and I wanted to maintain my illusion from the ending of the first book. (If there is another book, I’m just going to get it and not even read the synopsis, lol). But I had to satisfy my curiosity so I spent my day thoroughly lost in the world of Jeff and Braeden. I laughed. I cried. Basically, I had all the feels in a very short period of time. This book tore my heart to pieces and then put it back together. So, so good!!!!

Then there’s a new favorite by this author…I loved the the first Miss Apple Pants but let me say, I love this one even more. When I say I could not put this book down I mean I couldn’t put it down. I wish I had the words to explain what it is about this authors books that keep me racing back for more, for one it is her characters and the way this author writes their interactions…They just seem so so real. Another is the family and the friendships that she writes about. Then there’s the storylines that keep me from doing what a real life wife should be doing, like cooking and cleaning and conversing with anyone around me lol

I don’t even know where to begin with this review as far as the story itself. Let me just say that it just flowed and every word was needed to fulfill what was happening…No fluff added to make the story longer. There were very subtle little twists and turns throughout the story, those you see coming and just can’t wait to see them happen and then those you don’t really see coming but aren’t earth shattering throw your kindle kind of twists and the characters OMG, I am so so so in love with Ella’s family, they made me laugh so many times throughout the story and the addition of Mrs Rock and her story just added the cherry on top of this whole book.

I absolutely love this author, she is on my list of favorites and I completely and sincerely recommend everything she writes and I suppose you could read this as a standalone, but don’t do that…Grab the first and read them both for the full enjoyment of this story.

Can not wait to she what she writes next!
