Sons of Sindicato (Sons of Sindicato #0)Sons of Sindicato by Cam Johns
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the first book I have read from these two authors. I love a good mafia romance but they exceeded all my expectations. These two authors did an amazing job with their writing. I could not tell that there were two authors to this book. This is the first book of the sons of Sindicato series and wow what a perfect way to start a series. I could not put this book down until the end. It only took me a few hours to devour this addictive book.

Braelyn Shaw loves being an attorney. She loves when the guilty get justice. Braelyn’s life changes when her boss goes too far one night after work. She now have to cover a murder with her secret boyfriend. Braelyn is falling for a mob boss’s son. She knows it’s not right but she can’t help it. Braelyn knows the murder was self defense but it went too far. She knows that Seth’s dad will not like her due to the color of her skin but she doesn’t care. Braelyn and Seth are in this together but what happens when the enemy comes after them?

THE DEVOTED FAN (21ST Century Courtesan Book 5) by Pamela DuMond writing as P. S. DuMond – Review by Sheri Schrader

THE DEVOTED FANTHE DEVOTED FAN by Pamela DuMond
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Devoted Fan by Pamela DuMond writing as P.S. DuMond is the fifth book in the 21st Century Courtesan book series. I will start by recommending that you should read the books in order. The series builds throughout the books and with this being the last book you need the context. The story helps conclude the series that includes twists, turns, suspense, and romance. I have enjoyed seeing the character Evie has evolved throughout the series. There is a lot going on but I am not going to spoil the story for you. Just know that if you doubt that karma exists you will not after reading this book. I have enjoyed this series and will be looking for other books by this author to read soon.

It was almost ironic to read a book about a world during a deadly virus outbreak whilst we are currently in the grip of a global pandemic due to a deadly virus outbreak. When a water borne virus begins to kill people in the thousands all across the world, Cam is one of 300 hundred people chosen to live in a dome covered colony on an island in the hope to preserve human life on the planet. I saw many similarities in this book such as sustainability, community living. etc that are buzzwords at the moment of how we can have a more secure future on earth. I found this book interesting and the premise is good. The characters were well thought out. However, I did find the lengthy descriptions hard to keep up with at times and almost got a bit lost with the actual plot.

Blue Summer Part One by Everly Taylor is a fast paced story and exciting. I found it to be a pretty quick read because I got straight into it. I read it all in one sitting because I had to know what was going to happen.
I enjoyed the overall storyline of the book. The idea was good and well thought out. The characters really added to this – especially Lillie. I found her to be engaging and likeable right from the start.
This book does end on a cliffhanger so I will definitely be looking to read book two. But it is well worth your time and thoroughly enjoyable.

Delilah is a demon, running a bar and hunting at night. Life in the city gets too much for her so she decides to book a cabin in the woods and treat herself to a vacation. That is until three witches summon her to do their bidding to avenge their long gone ancestors. Then on top of that there’s a handsome Sheriff in the mix who also happens to be in a poly amorous relationship with a Nix.
This novel was fun and whimsical, Delilah is kick ass and funny and easily likable. I really enjoyed this book and found it easy to follow. I would definitely read more in the series.

Life’s a Witch (New Orleans Nocturnes Book 3) AUDIO BOOK by Carrie Pulkinen – Review by Bobbi Wagner

I enjoyed listening to this audio.  The narrator’s voice made the story easy to listen too.  They brought life to the story and I could easily see the characters.   I enjoyed them, I found myself easily connecting to them. In this story Crimson’s spells always go bad. When the high priestess threatens to bind her powers, her reaction is to challenge her to a battle that she doesn’t have a chance to win. What will happen when a demon named Mike makes a deal that could change everything for Crimson?  The characters had great chemistry and I enjoyed them.  I highly recommend this audio, it is worth the listen too.

This is a great novella to start this mafia romance series, I am so excited to read the rest. This is about a powerful family and they’re attorney Braelynne Shaw. Seth Girodano fell madly in love with her when she represented him in a case, but they have to keep their relationship secret as no one will be happy with their choice. You see if she can still make partner whilst keeping the love of her life but it seems like his family are not the only problem they run into.

Blue Summer Part One- Everly Taylor

5-stars

Blue Summer was the first book I’ve read by this author but it certainly won’t be my last! I had no idea what to expect when I dove into this one but this storyline far exceeded anything I could have hoped for. It’s so detailed, entertaining, intense and oh so steamy! I was captivated right from the get go and ended up reading this book in one sitting as I couldn’t bring myself to stop reading.

This author took me on such a beautifully described journey, one that I wouldn’t mind living in. The story is written with so much detail that I could easily picture everything playing out in my mind, which kept me highly entertained. I cannot wait to continue reading this storyline with Part Two.

If you are looking for a one of a kind read look no futher, this is the book for you!

What a rollercoster ride of an ending. I just could not put this book down as it is the fifth book in this series I have read. Man I just love how the author was able to mix the drama and story. I sure was on the edge of my seat to see how it would all end.

I definitely was not disappointed and I felt as though I was right in the thick of the drama. I like how the plot twisted. I could definitely feel the main character’s emotions and was sad to see that this is the last. I would definitely read more from this author.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I’ve never read Danielle Jacks until this book and I feel like have been missing out. I am a fan of my brother’s best friend tropes. This one though it was slightly different with the brother and best friend on the outs and their relationship started out as revenge for Damien and a cover for Zoe. The chemistry between the two is *insert me doing a chef’s kiss* perfection. How will everything play out you ask? You will need to grab your own copy of this book.

Blue Summer Part OneBlue Summer Part One by Everly Taylor
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Blue men with no women of their kind. Mushroom houses. An evil sorcerer.
Meeting the Zayed changes Lillie’s life forever. An accidental encounter causes her to be kidnapped by the evil sorcerer. He thinks she knows more than she does. I love Lillie, she is a strong, independent woman who knows how to take care of herself. She isn’t a woman that needs to be rescued. Where does she fit in with the Zayed community? Why does she feel as if she belongs when she hasn’t felt as if she belonged anywhere her entire life.
I really enjoyed the characters and the relationships she developed. The book is during a 48 hour period so everything happens very quickly. Heath, Clay, Brian, and Chief are very well developed and I felt connected. The book ends on a total cliffhanger, but I was totally engrossed. I had to know what happened and immediately bought book two and finished it right after book one.

This was a great read and I’m excited to continue reading the next book in the Deadly Isles Special Ops series by Amy McKinley. The characters were likable and I appreciated the back story the author gave to both. It added to the sense of mystery and kept the book even more entertaining and interesting. It was full of romance and suspense that had me trying to figure out the intertwining storylines and who was the ultimate villain in the book. Easy writing style that alternated viewpoints between the main characters kept me engaged as well. Great book!

THE DEVOTED FAN (21ST Century Courtesan Book 5) by Pamela DuMond writing as P. S. DuMond – Review by Jenni Bishop

THE DEVOTED FANTHE DEVOTED FAN by Pamela DuMond
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

THE DEVOTED FAN (21st Century Courtesan Book 5) by P.S. DuMond is the end of the series and I have been waiting with bated breath for it to come out. As Pamela says each of the stories are a blend of dark romance, psychological suspense, and domestic thriller. Reading the books in order is a must to get the full effect of the characters and what is going on plus each book ends with a cliff hanger.

Pamela has woven even more multi-layers in story line with lots of emotions and complexities, and it all comes to a tumultuous head. You never know where Pamela will take you with her wonderful story telling. I have said it before, but it is as true for this book as the others. It is as dangerous as it is mysterious, and as it is sexy as it is suspenseful. It is dramatic, and it is captivating in its uniqueness. It is also hot and full of lust and love, and loyalty but it is also full of danger and an unknown threat.

Evie’s tragic childhood has shaped her life. She is an empath who uses it to help others and is much sought after for her specific talents.

Chased (A Cambridge Men of Honour Novel Book One): A Dark Mafia Bad Boy Romance (Cambridge Men of Honour—Dark Mafia Romances 1) by Felicity Brandon – Review by Danielle Thompson

ChasedChased by Felicity Brandon
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Chased (A Cambridge Men of Honor Book One): A Dark Mafia Bad Boy Romance by Felicity Brandon has all the trimmings of what one could hope for in a dark romance. It’s a first-person read told from the point of view of our two leading characters. Alegra is a lawyer with a strong personality and do-good moral compass who finds herself enthralled with a villainous male, Chase. Opposites attract indeed; he is the leader of the largest crime organization in Britain (albeit with the world at his fingertips). I actually appreciate that in sticking with the theme his character is true to what one would expect of someone involved in organized crime without all sugar-coating the character for the sake of making them more likable. Honestly in that position of power being a softy would make you weak and a target. So if you have any interest in organized crime historically you might appreciate that. The story is a page-turner and recommended for adults who enjoy a true “bad boy” type fictional character.

This was another new author for me. The story was interesting. It has several things that I enjoy, vampires and wolves mixed with mythology. Livvie is a “wolf-less” daughter to a pack alpha and never felt truly at home there and then there is Darius, the son of Ra—The Egyptian Sun God and an ancient vampire. Their chemistry is undeniable between the two and you can’t help but root for them as a couple. If you like mythology with a touch of supernatural this book is for you.

Blue Summer Part OneBlue Summer Part One by Everly Taylor
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Blue Summer Part One by Everly Taylor is a story full of paranormal and romance. There is so much romance and drama that is ready to be unfolded. The paranormal is a nice bonus in this love story.

They spoke about Zayed, the blue-skinned man. They warned us that we should be afraid of them. Fear, on the other hand, was formed of ignorance, and I recognized how wrong they were all. I had no idea that my first meeting with The Zayed would forever affect not just my perspective, but also my life. Kidnapped for what the sorcerer felt she could provide him, only to be rescued and given exactly what he was looking for. Now she had to figure out her part in all of this in order to save not just herself, but the whole Zayed Community as well.

I loved every page of it. Every chapter was lovely. I can’t wait to read more books from this author.

AntipodesAntipodes by T.S. Simons
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Antipodes by T.S. Simons is an amazing book with romance. It has a thriller and even a form of dystopian. Many different kind of people can enjoy this book

Antipodes is a one-of-a-kind piece of fiction set in post-apocalyptic Australia today. Antipodes focuses on the qualities contemporary society lacks sustainability, inclusivity, community, and friendship and is aimed at young adults who are disillusioned with our world and worried for our planet’s ecological destiny. Cam Mackintosh is in his last year of a science degree at Melbourne University when he is offered a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to help construct a fully sustainable society on an island off the coast of Australia after a devastating epidemic. The community is given a blank slate, a brand-new eco-village, shielded from the outer world yet equipped with much of today’s knowledge and technology. August Island’s community thrives and is built on current principles such as gender equality and cultural acceptance.

I loved every page of it. Every chapter was thrilling. I can’t wait to read more books from this author. Readers who appreciate Margaret Atwood’s environmental fiction, such as Oryx and Crake, or work by Piers Torday, Frank Cottrell Boyce, and Sarah Crossan’s Breathe, will love this book.

Another trip into the Broderick coven and I again was hooked from page one. I really like how the author is able to draw in the reader and keep you interested. I can feel all the emotions as though I was right there in the midst of the action. I also like how well balanced the book is with romance and drama.

The chemistry between Max and Claudia is just amazing. I really like how this book is really outlining how both are really finding themselves. Max cause magic is new to him and Claudia cause of the bad experiences she has had all her life. I really like how the author is able to keep the paranormal realistic with each person really personified and down to earth. I like how all the stories really do relate to the last and how it is left open to continue the series. I look forward to reading more from this author and this series.
