A Frothy Christmas Kiss is book four in the Christmas Kiss series by Allyson R. Abbott. I really got into this story. I engaged with the characters instantly and was intrigued with how the story would unfold. The author liked to keep the anticipation high and the tension was at an all time high. An intricately woven gem of a romance just perfect to curl up with during the festive holiday.
Kat and Dan had instant chemistry. It melted the pages and cracked with urgency. Misunderstandings and denial were attractive traits, as were the both of them trying to ignore the pull to one another. This story was amusing, light, addictive and alluring. Add a certain little guest into the mix, and you have a quality story to keep you smiling and happy to have read their journey. 5 stars.

Souls Collide by Kristina Beck is book three of the Collide Series. This is the first book I’ve read of the series but I didn’t feel I lost any of the story.
Alexa is so smart but most people over look that given her beauty. She is so friendly and bubbly, most people don’t look below the surface.
Kent won’t get close to anyone. Few people have gotten behind his wall and he plans to keep it that way. Alexa brings brightness to Kent’s world but be ignores it. Until her brightness fades a bit. Kent feels the need to fiercely protect Alexa.
The book has a sudden twist you don’t expect. I couldn’t wait to finish but also wanted to hold on tight to the book the whole way through. I didn’t want it to end. I am going to go back and read the first two books in the series and if they are half as good as this book then I’m truly looking forward to it!
This set of books include the following books: Courtship and Courage by Carrie Dalby, When Time Stood Still by Chelsi Arnold and J D Boudreaux, Hobbes House Noel by CJ. Peterson Talking in Code: A Christmas by E. A. Hale, and Safe Haven by Jolie St. Amant. As a whole group, this anthology was put together well. The individual stories were short and quick, but had sweet romances in each book. I very much enjoyed all of these stories, but I particularly enjoyed Safe Haven. If you looking for a set of quick stories to read in between all the wrapping, this is a great holiday romance set to read!!!!!!
This is a collection of books about men and women who have put themselves on the front line so to speak. They give even when they have very little for themselves. All the stories were well written and had good character development. Sometimes short stories are better because it gives you just enough to satisfy you. There is no mincing words just straight to the point with only a few curves. These stories were a great distraction from my cranky 7 month old. I love anthologies because you get to read a variety of books and sample an author before reading their other stories. Overall I liked this book and will check out more from these authors.
This is one of my favorite series, I highly recommend this book and series. The characters make me laugh and I love Ranger and his guys, Joe isn’t so bad either. This author writes with creativity and sitting on the edge of my seat action. I couldn’t put this book down once I started it. Stephanie brings so much fun and the things she gets herself into. The secondary characters are just as fun and creative, especially Grandma. This is a must read!

Then there is The Deuce and the magic of Christmas.
Allyson R Abbott continues her Christmas Kiss romance stories. This is a quick read. Just right for the holiday reading. I love the characters in this book. They are so cute and loveable. It is so nice to see a strong woman, making it in a man’s world. Even better that she is respected. I know you will love this story as much as I did. Well done Allyson R Abbott!

This is my first read by this author and I am in love..This book touched every emotion and the flow of the words were simply perfection. The only negative I have about this book was that it ended, I could have read this story for so many more pages. So I will absolutely be checking out everything else available. It only took a couple pages for me to fall completely for these characters…My heart broke when he received the letter and can’t imagine how he felt knowing he had to tell his girl, and then I try to imagine how she felt when she found out he was leaving.
I cried more than once while reading this story and just love how this author made me feel like I was living in 1952 and everything just felt so real and I’m sure that this story would hit hard many that lived through and experienced these exact times. I was a complete mess throughout.
I can’t recommend this story enough it’s an awesome story written perfectly!

All of these authors were new to me and I can’t wait to read more from them. All of their stories pulled me right in. They range from historical to present time and paranormal.

Another great thing about this book is that part of the proceeds are donated to the Cajun Navy Relief fund.
For the Love of Laura Beth (A Chicago Christmas Book 4) by Aubrey Wynne maybe a quick red but it is a beautiful and compelling story that packs a punch. It is a bit of an emotional tale of two people madly in love but separated by war. But war isn’t the only fight this couple have to deal with. It is a well written and flows nicely and the characters are wonderfully woven in to real life people.
Laura Beth and Joey face many challenges in their journey both together and alone but the biggest one yet may leave them shattered beyond repair.
This is one beautiful and compelling story that should be on your to read list. Oh and don’t forget some tissues.

Surviving the Storm (Surviving Series Book 2) by Virginia Wine is a contemporary romance and an excellent addition to the series. The story is so easy to get lost in with these amazing characters. This compelling story has all the characters I loved from the first book and it is both sweet as it is terrifying. There is suspense and mystery, love and hate, there is also sorrow and horror, courage and danger that keep the pages turning. I loved the banter between Alex and Madison and their interactions with the other characters.
Alex Storm III has found something that is completely foreign to him. Something that is under his skin after just one night. Something so precious he wants it for himself.
Madison Perry is all over the place. She has just found out she has a brother and is engaged to another. But just one night was all it took . Just one night to get under her skin. Just one night to know what it is like to be truly loved.
The chemistry and the passion steam up the pages. BUT beware there are moments that are as equally heartbreaking as they are heartwarming. I am now eagerly awaiting the next book.

Dan and Kat flirt with each other and then Kat meets Becky who also works at the coffee house. Kat seems to think Dan and Becky are married and tries to stop the attraction she has towards Dan which is unsuccessful.
There is a stray cat named Brian who spends his day at the coffee shop. Only he’s not really a stray after all. Kat follows him one night and morning to see where he goes when he’s not at have bean.
Kat ends up working part time at have bean and becomes friends with Becky and Dan. Will Kat ever find out the truth about Dan and Becky’s relationship? What will happen when she finds out how they know each other so well.

A Frothy Kiss is the fourth book in Allyson R. Abbott’s Christmas Kiss series and I think it is currently the last one and what a last one it was! I absolutely loved the sweet story of Kat and Dan and their cupid Brian aka Bagpuss aka Damned Cat (you got to read the book yourself to know what I mean!). You can read this story as a standalone! Make yourself a cup of good coffee or if you are like Dan and Kat and are into fancy coffee types then make something more daring and enjoy the couple of hours you spend with these two and co! I loved the small town and the quaint coffee shop and how it all came together in one beautiful ‘drink’ that leaves you craving for more! The chemistry, the sweetness, the misunderstandings, the growing up that we all need to do and the benefits we reap if we do so and the beauty of it all! Hometown Heroes: A Christmas Anthology by Various Authors. This was a wonderful collection of romantic Christmas stories ranging from Paranormal, Historical & Contemporary! One of my favorites was When Time Stood Still by Chelsi Arnold & J D Boudreaux is about Jacqueline Jones who needs a change from her East Side Apartment so she moves to the Smokey Mountains in Tennessee. Nick Lapointe once a member of the Cajun Navy says goodbye to Cajun country and heads to the same Smokey Mountains. When they meet sparks fly, literally, they are both attracted to one another but they also want to kill each other. Will love win out? This is a very entertaining read. I also really enjoyed Safe Haven by Jolie St Amcent. Its the story of Haven Cross trying to get over the tragic death of her husband during war. Every year @ Christmas she returns to Chateau Rouge & relives her proposal but the Enchanting Hotel has other plans for her & Chance Montgomery the musician in town. Can Haven let go of the past and have a future with Chance or will she let her fear hold her back? These are all very good Holiday romances and its well worth the read!

This collection of Christmas short stories was a quick and easy read. Each story features a different genre and each featured a hero of some type (hence the title of HOMETOWN HEROES).
Courtship and Courage by Carrie Dalby is a period romance. This is not a genre I read and I kind of rolled my eyes when I realized what it was. I have to say that I enjoyed it. It talks about a time in US history that I am unfamiliar with (shame on me) and I would like to learn more about. It is a sweet romance that takes place between a school teacher and a boat captain. It is well written, quick and to the point.
When Time Stood Still by Chelsi Arnold and J D Boudreaux is a contemporary romance. I have read both of these authors before and loved the fact that the male protagonist is reading one of Chelsi Arnold’s books. This is a story of how opposites attract and features a character with PTSD. My favorite line in the story – actually the entire anthology – “All a girl needs is her dog, caffeine, and a good pair of shoes. Everything else can be winged.” Well plotted with a very clear beginning, middle and end – I would love to read this as a full length novel.
Hobbes House Noel by CJ Petterson – This is a story where we learn that all is not as it appears. I believe that each character in this story is a hero in there own way.
Talking in Code by EA Hale is a full length novel in 13 short chapters. Complex and detailed story about a lost art.
Safe Haven by Jolie St. Amant – This is a short story\novella which is more like a scene from the author’s series “Chateau Rouge”. Paranormal Romance at its best. Makes you wonder what actually is going on around us.
The other thing I realized after writing the review is that there are no sex scenes and I don’t remember any foul language.
I would recommend this anthology to my mother’s book club.
Ohhhhh India Kells this corrupted my mind so good! I absolutely had to one-click this novel like I do with just about every India Kells novels. This one was a tad more steamy than I am used to seeing from her and I loved it, every wanton moment. Now keeping in mind that I have mentioned this is a bit of a steamy read be smart and don’t pick it up if that isn’t your thing, although I do think you would be missing out on quite the read, especially if you are a fan of India Kells of novels.
There is a lot going on in this book, but it is done flawlessly and not too overwhelming, I was able to read it in one sitting. Tessa finds herself in a slave ring. Everyone’s worst nightmare. The man who saves her, Locke has a proposal, one that is something she would never have expected to find herself involved in either. Oh and then there is Locke’s best friend Gage. These three have some intricate personalities that work together a lot like poetry. Which for me is what makes a novel like this work so well. A Frothy Christmas Kiss by Allyson R. Abbott is the fourth book in the Christmas Kiss series. It was a very cute story, my favorite character in this book was the cat. You’ll understand my love of this cat after you’ve read the book.
Kat stumbling on the coffe shop was fate stepping in. She has loved coffee since she was a little girl and this place is heaven on earth for her.
Dan is the owner of this quaint neighborhood coffee shop and is intrigued by Kat as she about him and coffee.
I’m not big on Christmas but did enjoy this book and series. Looking forward to read more by Ms. Abbott.

Such a wonderful compilation of stories. Each contained a wonderful hero or heroine for the reader to fall in love with. My absolute favorite story in this anthology was When Time Stood Still. I really felt the whole book was a great holiday read. The characters were amazing and the storyline in each short tale was easy to follow.

The Confectioner’s Truth is the final book in The Confectioner Chronicles by Claire Luana. It is the final gorgeous cover and the final magical visit that we will get and I am so book depressed. When I first started this series a few months ago I immediately got swept up into this world that Luana had created so vividly and I have been enamored ever since. The way these covers scream magic and adventure the story lives up inside with an incredible world-building. I almost felt as if I was within the novel itself, something I absolutely love.
The magic, action, and adventure continues for Wren a couple weeks after the second book, The Confectioner’s Coup. I would highly recommend that you read these books in order, including the prequel because this is as mentioned a finale to a series. We meet a lot of new characters, get some new romances, unexpected tears, and a conclusion to remember. I can’t wait to see what will come next from Claire Luana! I am sure it will be outstanding.

Leaving Jackson Wolf is a brilliantly YA Coming of Age book by P.A. Kane. Kane is a new author to my list of authors. He has an amazing way of telling a story, He brings you into the story from the very first page until the last page. It seems to me that there are many Coming of Age stories and most of what I had read is about a girl/woman. Now that does not mean there aren’t any about boy/man but I have not found many of them. This story makes you think about things you may know about teenage boy/male struggles. Kane provides this insight and I am thankful he did write this book. This story was breath taking, tearful, and emotional. I would recommend reading this story with a box of tissues because you maybe surprise how a teenage boy sees the world.

I have read a few books from this talented author and she always seems to surprise me. They way she writes her characters make them come to life. I absolutely adore Christmas books. It puts a smile on my face everytime I read them. This author always exceeds my expectations with her writing. This is the fourth book in the Christmas kiss series and I hope she will put more out some day. I absolutely loved this series. I was hooked on the first chapter. It only took me a few hours to devour this incredible story.
Kat loves her coffee. She drinks it everyday and she loves to try different flavors. Kat is in heaven when she finds a little coffee shop that she never knew existed. She was drawn in by the smell but when she meets the owner she is dumbfounded. Kat is instantly attracted to him. She feels something she has never felt before. Kat gets to know Dan really well and he offers her a job of lifetime. She accepts the job but she finds out that there is a lady in Dan’s life. Kat is devastated but is this all a misunderstanding? Kat also is missing her best friend. Will Kat find her happy ever after or will she spend Christmas alone for the first time?
I absolutely loved this book. The storyline has it all romance, humor, and love. This story will get you into the holiday spirit. You can’t help but to fall in love with these characters. Kat is a sweetheart that what to find her own way. She wants to fairytale ending like every girl wants. Dan is a very handsome man with a great heart. He feels this attraction to Kat and he treats her like a princess. This is a fun and uplifting story that will make you feel happy. I hope this talented author will continue this amazing series.

Karina is back and finding herself in the middle of it again. When one of the senators opposes a bill she is lobbying, she wants to know why. While talking to him outside, he literally dies right in front of her. The FBI thinks it was murder and that she could be a suspect. Apparently someone else thinks she may know something as her house is broken into. Not one to ignore her curiosity, Karina decides to find out more about the things that have been happening. Who is behind it? For what purpose? How far does it go?
This is a good political suspense/mystery book. Karina is the main character again, now with her current boyfriend, Mike. She is getting into trouble and needs the help of her friends. It is interesting to see the relationships evolve from book one. Quite a few of them play bigger roles in this book. The story itself involves the political end of things much more than the first one. I didn’t realize that and it took me a little bit to get into it. But the action really speaks for itself and the further you get, the more compelling it is. There are many things that happen that I didn’t see coming.
If you like political suspense/mystery books, I highly recommend this. I don’t think it’s absolutely necessary to read book one first, but you will understand this one better if you do.

The author had a magical way with their words to craft a stunningly written story that strokes upon numerous emotional feels, as well as, relaying how these characters lived during that era. This story held much appeal as it progressed, showcasing Laura Beth’s perseverance. Beyond enchanting, this story captured the rawness of the characters during that time and relayed in a spectacular style.

Angela McPherson’s Hope’s Defeat is the third book of The Fated series. This stunning conclusion brings together what has occurred in the previous two books culminating Trinity’s fate. This story/series has kept me fully engaged throughout leaving nothing to chance. Trinity has been a strong and vibrant character, we continue to see that resolve in this final book. Top of the list in the teen/young adults genre.

Well Angela McPherson sure knows how to write one heck of a finale! This book really just blew me away. I was left wanting more because it was that great, but I was also satisfied with how well it was concluded. Both great signs of a wonderful ending to a wonderful series. I really must reiterate what I have been saying along with my other reviews for The Fated books. Angela Mcpherson’s strong suit is here. I had read some of her other novels prior to picking up these and they were good, but not near as shiny great as these have been. Now as I am mentioning this book is a conclusion to a series so please don’t pick it up before devouring the first two novels and in order or you will be lost as all get out. Besides its worth every second of your reading time. I am not going to go into details and ruin this amazing end for you, I just can’t bare to do it. This book is a sweet , romantic Christmas story that you won’t want to miss. The cat (Brian) (Bagpuss) (Damned cat) is one smart animal. The author did an awesome job making me feel like I was in the coffee shop with them experiencing the smells and tastes with her attention to detail. There are great characters in this story that make it that much more interesting. Let’s not forget all the flirting and chemistry between Dan and Kat. I really enjoyed reading this story with some unexpected twists. I recommend this book, it is a fun, sweet read with a hint of mystery.

This book was a heck of a ride. I will warn you now there is no fairy tales here, no reminiscing over happy childhoods and not fond memories to be had really. One thing I can be sure of is P.A. Kane sure can write one emotive coming of age novel sure to well remembered by me for a long time to come.
There are some difficult situations dealt with in the novel, from abuse to alcoholic parents, which also leads to emotional abuse which in my opinion is just as bad as physical abuse. As much as I hate attaching a warning label to a novel (I really think everyone should go into books with an open mind it could be exactly what you need.) I am going to say this even had some moments where I was struck in the feels and things touched some chords. Just keep in mind if you have some lurking substance abuse in your family history this could be a bit of a touchy novel for you to read.
This is the coming of age story about Jackson Wolf. His life is far from easy, actually it’s a nightmare and I was crying for this boy more often than not while reading this. We follow him and his new friend James McDougal as they attempt to steer through a world that makes very little sense and they are doing it the best they know how considering the role models that they have had. I really enjoyed each of their personalities and the way they managed to get through things, even when they are not very good. This is definitely not one you want to miss, especially if you love coming of age and emotional reads. I can’t wait to check out more of P.A. Kane’s work.

A Frothy Christmas Kiss by Allyson R. Abbott is a five star novel. Even though this is the fourth book in the series, it is a standalone. The series only is a series because they are short, happy Christmas stories. This series has been a lot of fun to read and really helped to put me in the Christmas spirit. When the season starts, not all of us are ready, not all of us are happy for it to be here and not all of us enjoy the season as much as others. When trials happen in our lives, it is sometimes difficult to put that on the back burner and still be able to find the joy of Christmas. I feel this series tries to show that in a tangible way. When Kay moves away from home, she finds herself lonely and without her best friend. She finds a hole in the wall coffee shop and quickly finds her place there but because of a misunderstanding is having a difficult time being content. As the book progresses, we find out more about each of the characters and helps to bring them all together. Brian’s story was my favorite part of the whole book!

Fatal Legislation was the second book in Ellen Butler’s Karina Cardinal Mystery series. I got hooked on KC, which is what she is fondly referred to in the books as, with the first in the series, Isabella’s Painting. You will want to read the that one prior to reading Fatal Legislation as this one is a continuation of sorts.
This was not my favorite of the two so far, but was still good. KC is a headstrong woman and she knows how to trust her gut and get the job done, but this was a bit thick with the political law thriller for me. I just get bored or tired with the details with these books and they are not usually the first type I will pick up. This would be my reasoning behind the four stars instead of five. Clearly a personal opinion and nothing to do with the quality of the writing that Ellen Butler displays once again in this one. Like I mentioned above KC gets herself caught up this time in a political mystery that will keep you on your toes trying to figure it out right along with her. I do hope that we will get some more of KC and her mystery solving quirky self in the near future. Thanks for the great read Ms. Butler.

Hometown Heroes has a good mix of stories centered around Christmas, heroes, and love. It has a little somethin for everyone. Courtship and courage is a historical romance with a sassy girl and a determined boat captain, centered around Christmas. I like how he’s making all his choices to be ready for a future with her, it’s sweet. When time stood still is sort of an opposites attract situation. These two were meant to meet, it was fate. Though they definitely butted heads for sure. Safe Haven takes place at this hotel I’ve read about before. All sorts of paranormal things going on, but falling in love is what it’s all about. Such a fun and sweet story.

Hometown Heroes is a great anthology! These following authors provided me with so much Christmas entertainment: Carrie Dalby, Chelsi Arnold, J D Boudreaux, CJ Peterson, E.A. Hale and Jolie St Amant. Some of these authors are new to me, while others I’ve read before. I absolutely loved reading these novellas by some of my favorite authors and being introduced to some great new authors.
Each novella captured my attention and had me hoping for a happy ending! This anthology is one I would recommend to anyone looking for their next Christmas read!
