My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Everyday Enchantments: Musings on Ordinary Magic & Daily Conjurings by Maria F DeBlassie is definitely an interesting read. I am not sure what I expected, but it was not what I thought it could be. It is a collection of thoughts and musings and the insightful view of the world by one woman. It seemed as if a thought popped into her head, then that would be the direction it took off in, and so on.

So lock away the hubby and kids, shut off the phone and find a quiet place for reflection upon the weird and wonderful musings of Maria. It is one read where you need to devote the time, like a meditation almost, as it soothes and calms emotions.

Claimed RoyaltyClaimed Royalty by Betty Shreffler
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Claimed Royalty: (Crowned and Claimed Series, Book 1) by Betty Shreffler is a fantasy romance story that is refreshing and new, exciting and sexy, sweet and tempting and it captures you from the very beginning. What a great start to this series. Betty sets a scene and a world that is easily imaginable and descriptive and in my minds eye, majestic. The characters are imagined as being real and whole. This is an adventure and a journey where I was swept away and often on the edges of my seat. In this new world we see a Princess who is proving she is fit to be the next Queen. Where she must choose a suitor to become her King but will it be the man she loves? Will there be heartache on the horizon? Most of the characters I loved and some I hated with a passion, which goes to show how well written they are.

However, there are several big twists, and the proverbial rug was ripped out from under everything I thought was going to happen. Agggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhh! now I have to wait for the next book in the series to see what happens.

In order to pull himself out of his funk he has decided to leave his old life behind and start a new where he grew up. With old friends and new he celebrates the season of his first christmas without his mother. It is a very quick but emotional read. Jane is a master at never doing what you think should be and always leaves me a little frustrated. Read and enjoy but you need to read the first book Flowers in December first.

What She Lost And FoundWhat She Lost And Found by M.L. Garcia
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

What She Lost and Found by M.L. Garcia is an emotional journey that is both heartbreaking and heartwarming. It is a story where my emotions were all over the place as I meandered along this journey. There are many characters and a lot going on with this story but it is easy to follow along and the story is well written. There are a lot of twist and turns and a lot of mystery as to what is really going on in the lives of these young people. I did find myself frustrated a lot of times with the main character Daniela but at other times I wanted to wrap her up in cotton wool.

Daniela has had to adapt her life just to survive. She has survived one of the most tragic and horrific situations in her life only to find out two days later it only gets worse. She now has a stalker, one who is hell bent on getting her and doesn’t care who gets in their way. When the secrets and lies are finally unraveled she can finally move forward with her life and the one person who has always loved her.

Blade's Edge (Satan's Devils MC #10)Blade’s Edge by Manda Mellett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Blade’s Edge: Satan’s Devils MC #10 by Manda Mellett is another great addition to this series and one that I have come to enjoy reading about. It’s fun to watch these big tough men fall for their women and Manda knows just how to write their stories. Manda’s story telling is on point and she knows how to draw you in with her words, the wonderful characters she writes and the world in which you become easily lost in. It is never smooth sailing for our boys in this motorcycle club and when they fall they fall hard and fast and will stop at nothing to make sure their family is safe, even if it is from one of their own. There is heartache and pain, loss and hurt but there is also love and happiness, joy and friendships and of course hot and sexy alpha men who protect what is theirs.

Blade is the club Enforcer, having to do the tough jobs to ensure the clubs safety. Women are only good for one thing and one thing only. They can’t be trusted, they always let you down. However, when one homeless man needs help finding his friend things in Blade’s life are turned upside down.

Tash is in hiding and homeless, having fled for her life. It’s a scary place but she meets a man that helps change her life. But before she may have a happily ever after she must endure and fight for her life.

This is one series you need to read. Start at the first book and work your way through as each and every book tells a story of each member of the club but all the characters are intertwined in each one. Manda know how to write about clubs and she has never let me down. I look forward to see the rest of the men get their stories.

Lights, Camera, Action (Paranormal Talent Agency, #1)Lights, Camera, Action by Heather Silvio
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Lights, Camera, Action (Paranormal Talent Agency #1) by Heather Silvio is a treasure and a great start to the series. It is an exciting paranormal crime story that is different and enjoyable. This murder mystery is fast paced and a story that keeps the pages turning. I would have loved the story to be a bit longer but it did not take away from the fabulous writing and storyline. Heather has a knack for this type of writing and I love the humour infused within.

Catherine Rodham, is a shrewd talent agent who has just started a new branch in Las Vegas. A series of murder and events lead her to believe there is definitely much more to the residents than meets the eye. Including one dark and mysterious man who has capture her attention in more than one way.

There is twists and turns that kept me guessing to the end. I can’t wait to get stuck in to the other books in this gem of a series.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Broken Sand Dollar (The Sand Dollar Series Book 3) by JD Boudreaux is the final book in The Sand Dollar Series. It is a wonderful conclusion to the story of Alex and his life. It is a must that these books be read in order each book follow on and come together nicely. It is a journey of fate, faith and being and finally finding yourself. The first two books were enjoyable but JD did well in this book to tie everything up nicely but it also felt like the story had matured much like the characters. It is an emotional read but it also brings much happiness. I loved the stupid phrases the main characters sprouted at each other that had me laughing out loud.

Alex has always been a giver a fixer but not so much for himself. The women in his life leaving him in one way or another. After his last turn at love goes wrong, he packs up and returns to the one place that he feels at home, and what he finds when he finally stops is the one thing he never thought he would have. The Devil’s Shadow (Wild Beasts #4) by T. Birmingham is another great addition to this wonderful yet complex series. You could read this as a standalone but I suggest you don’t as the characters intertwine from story to story. It is a paranormal fantasy romance story that has many elements interwoven that makes for one hell of a journey. The suspense and mystery, action and drama had me on the edge of my seat and my heart pumping as I turned page after page just to see where we would end up. I also love the world building and the legends, lore and history behind these wonderful characters and their world where one’s imagination runs wild and free.

Dig Two Graves (Detective Solomon Gray #1)Dig Two Graves by Keith Nixon
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Dig Two Graves (Detective Solomon Gray #1) by Keith Nixon is a raw and dark read but that
is what all the best crime fictions stories are about, right? Add in a cop who has not only
witnessed the worst humanity has to offer but he has had to live through several of the most
tragic and horrific times of his life. Cynical – absolutely. Damaged – you bet ya. Barely
functioning – oh yeah. Keith has woven a magical yet complex thriller where the main
character is complex and broken and everything around him goes from bad to worse and the
intricate plot is a mystery until the very end. The emotions in this book weigh heavily and will
have you all over the place.
The story jumps back and forth from the past to the present as we journey along with the
memories of what was and today as Sol tries to go on with his life. The story is one I couldn’t
put down and had me on the edge of my seat.
Sol is a man who is struggling with a past that will forever haunt him and a job that is a

An Improper Encounter (The Macalisters, #3)An Improper Encounter by Erica Taylor
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

An Improper Encounter (The Macalisters Book 3) by Erica Taylor is an historical romance with with lots of mystery and drama, heartache and suspense, scandal and attempted murder, lies and deceit. As I have mentioned before historical romances are not my thing unless they are done right and trust me Erica has done it right. The characters in this series are family and are in each and every book, given there are so many of them, so I suggest you read the other two books before reading this one, so you know and understand their wonderful background and their stories, which makes the reading experience so much better. Erica has thrown in quite a few twists to this plot and keeps you guessing all the way through.

Sarah survived being ill treated in a horrible marriage but is now a widow. She helped/helps raise her younger siblings after the death of her parents and has always acted like the lady she is expected to be in society, even though she is tired of it. Whilst away, her best friend dares her to put aside propriety and just live.

William Gordon gets the shock of his life, when stopping at an Inn, where he meets the lovely widow. Travelling together brings them closer than they ever could have imagined and promises were made. Unfortunately lies and deceit had other ideas that lead to pain and heartache, sorrow and hate and broken hearts.

I recommend this series to all historical romance lovers and even those who are not and want to take a chance like I did.

Shattered Love: Book one of the “Forever us” series by Nivia Borell is a contemporary romance story that is a very raw and extremely emotional read. This story provoked so many feelings in me and I am not sure how I feel about it. It is a story of young love destroyed by one night. A night that was not at all what it seemed. A night that destroyed two people beyond repair. I was so angry at times and my heart was breaking. The pain is palpable, hearts are shattered, anger is ripe, lies and deceit are finally discovered but is it too late? The story is told from several POVs, which gives an inside look at the emotions and feelings of the characters and makes the story more interesting even though I didn’t quite connect with these characters.

She has broken heart syndrome and has become emotionally shut down and numb. All the players believe they have been brought together to celebrate her birthday but for her it is something entirely different.

Damien will never let love in to his life again. Betrayal runs to deep. The anger he holds keeps feeling anything else at bay but the words he finds can only destroy. When secrets and lies are finally revealed can he finally find the peace he needs to heal the one thing he still loves?

It is a story where by people are forced to look at themselves. It’s a story of people who finally do something for themselves. It is a story of pain and passion of being to fat or too thin. I love Mika’s writing style and her characters are always realistic but this story I loved. It was told in the male POV and I loved the difference it placed on the whole feel of the story. It was fun and delightful and damn was it sexy. The plot is simplistic yet the complexity of the emotions involved show the real and true multiple layers our characters.

Claimed (The Torzial Affair Book 3) by Via Mari is explosive and unfortunately the end of the series. This amazing series just gets better and better. The web of pain and betrayal, lies and deceit is a cleverly woven together plot that Via has masterfully put together. As with the others in the series the storyline is a brilliant complex, multifaceted and multidimensional which has the pages turning and the story ending before I was ready. The journey with these amazing characters has been one hell of a ride. I felt every emotion possible and was on the edge of my seat the whole way.   Jenny is fighting for her freedom. A precious freedom that could all be gone in a fraction of a second. Her life and her experiences will never be the same but it is all for nothing if the one person who counts doesn’t know truth from lies. The one person who knows how to take the pain away. The man she loves.

Brian will stop at nothing and no expense is spared to fight for the one thing he loves most in this world. Yes it is love and who would have thought that. But with so much conflicting information how much of it is truth and how much is lies.

I read one of her stories. She likes to throw you off track by adding a little twists here and a
little turn there, which keeps you guessing. Her main characters are always warm, caring
and loving and the men will stop at nothing to ensure all is right with the world.
In this journey we see Aaron a wounded warrior just returned discovers his is sister is
missing. Whilst trying to finding out more, he accidentally saves a woman who is in danger.
But who is the real danger, where is his sister and what did she get herself into.
This awesome book is not one to be missed. I can’t wait for more to come.

Surviving Grace: Book Five (Surviving Series) by Virginia Wine – Review by Jenni Bishop

Surviving Grace: Book Five ( Surviving Series)Surviving Grace: Book Five by Virginia Wine
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Surviving Grace: Book Five (Surviving Series) by Virginia Wine is another exciting book in
this great series that I love and sadly the last. But we get to catch up with all the wonderful
characters from the other four books in the series and you must read the others before
reading this one. Especially book four as this is where we first get introduced to Grace. This
story is well written and the characters are well developed and multi layered. It is an
emotional read full of danger and intrigue, mystery and action, pain and suffering and most
of all hot, sexy, alpha men who offer protection, love and friendship.
Grace has been tortured and traumatised, and mentally abused. The pain of her past as
destroyed who she is, her soul, her being but she now has people around her who are not
only her friends but also will stop at nothing to protect her. She is learning that she is
someone worth loving. She is someone worth knowing. She is someone who is just worth it.
Now she has to learn to trust, to live again, to find herself, she must learn how to survive but
betrayal runs deep.
I am sorry to see the end of this series but also looking forward to what Virginia gives us
next.

A Suitable Affair (The Macalisters Book 1) by Erica Taylor – Review by Jenni Bishop

A Suitable Affair (The Macalisters, #1)A Suitable Affair by Erica Taylor
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A Suitable Affair (The Macalisters Book 1) by Erica Taylor is an historical romance and an enticing read. I usually don’t like historical romances but I did enjoy this one. Erica’s attention to detail and writing and her multi layered characters and plot made for an interesting read that kept me on my toes. This story is full of mystery and intrigue, romance and secrets and the teasing and witty banter between the main characters had me laughing out loud.

Susanna is a breath of fresh air and definitely a forward thinker who likes to push the boundaries. The strict social rules of her time only apply when she says so. She is sassy and sweet and witty and sarcastic and has found one person who can keep her from a life of boredom. Now she finds herself caught up in intrigue that could end in the worst of ways.

Ian is looking to find the person who stole his sister. The one who is responsible for so much heartache. When he comes face to face with one mysterious woman, he finds himself thinking of things he has no place thinking about. One woman that can help take his pain away but the one thing he should not have and needs to push away only he can not stay away no matter the cost.

I enjoyed Erica’s story telling and look forward to reading more from her.

Bound (The Torzial Affair Book 2) by Via Mari – Review by Jenni Bishop

Bound (The Torzial Affair Book 2)Bound by Via Mari
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Bound (The Torzial Affair Book 2) by Via Mari is amazing. This incredible series just gets better and better. Via has woven a superb web of betrayal and deceit that has more twists and turns than a road in the mountains. This complex and multifaceted and multidimensional story had me spellbound as I turned page after page not knowing where the story would take me. My heart was often in my throat as I followed along with these wonderful characters that have found their way into my heart and soul. It is one sexy, steamy and erotic read that will leave you in need of a cold shower.

Jenny is caught up in something she has no idea about but the repercussions are a matter of life and death, not only to herself but all those around her and the evidence just seems to pile up and up. There is only one person she can trust but it seems even that may be displaced.

Brian is trying to do everything he can to help the woman who has come to mean so much to him. It seems that for every step forward they end up taking several back. Who is behind this trouble and who can he trust? Will he walk away from the one who needs him the most when he is confronted evidence that implicate the worst?

Via is an author not to be missed. I am so excited to read the next book in this brilliant series.
