The Fat Girl’s Guide to Loving Your Body by K.L. Montgomery – Review by Lisa Helmick

The Fat Girl's Guide to Loving Your BodyThe Fat Girl’s Guide to Loving Your Body by K.L. Montgomery
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is a book that can be used over and over. I like the journaling and daily affirmations she has included. Its much more of a work-book to be a better me. I feel this is not just a book for fat people. It’s really for anyone with body shaming issues. Yes it leans toward helping overweight people but much of this is really for anyone.

I like the honesty written in this book. If ever I was wondering if what a certain body part was doing what it was supposed to….I found out in here. Or if I was the only one thinking this negative thought…I found out in here I am not alone. The author shares her personal stories and journey with the readers as well as tidbits and helpful links.

The words flow very nicely making this easy and fun to read. I think a lot of people will benefit from this book. As I was reading I was making a mental list myself of people I could gift it too.

5 out of 5 stars

This is a book that I enjoyed reading. I loved the author’s wit and how she tackles the issues that are faced by those who are not happy with their body. This is a book that made me take a hard look at how I see and think about myself. The author gives advice and tackles many issues regarding how you see your body and how to love yourself. I loved that the author used her own personal experiences. I have struggled with my weight since childhood, so this book had me thinking back over the years and how I found that others shaped how I thought of my body. Many of my experiences have been negative. I found this book to be uplifting and a guide in choosing to be happy with my body. It is a book I would highly recommend to anyone who wants to learn to love their body. Highly recommended.

I have loved everyone of this author’s books, this one is no different. I was able to relate to the author as I too have struggled with weight. Sometimes it feels good to hear that you are not alone with this struggle and I loved reading about this author’s struggles and experiences. This is a book of hope and that is it okay to be who you are. If you need a boost in self acceptance this is an awesome book for that and more. There are no words for what I took from this book but trust me this is a must read.

The Fat Girl’s Guide to Loving Your Body by KL Montgomery is everything we know but most don’t put into practice. This is a very different book than what she normally writes but it is written honestly and with humour. It is a book that is aimed at self-love and to be comfortable in the skin in which you wear every day. Let’s face it many of us don’t like what we see in ourselves, but we live with it anyway.

This book is designed to help you become that if you want without being to serious. Give it ago you never know.

The Fat Girl’s Guide To Loving Your Body by K.L. Montgomery. I have read almost every single book by this author and let me tell you, I needed this book…. It was great to actually learn more about the author and hear her stories.
I have been overweight since I was around 11 and went through being bullied for being the fat girl. I still as an adult, with 4 sons, being in an absolutely wonderful relationship, where by boyfriend loves me and my weight, I am still not happy with myself and I say it out loud a lot!!! This book made me take a deeper look inside myself and realize that I am amazing…. I still have to train myself to believe those words but this book has me definitely on the right track. Thank you so much for this book!!!!! I loved it and I absolutely love you!!!!

Romance on the Rig by Kara Liane is a story in Risking Everything: A Steamy Anthology of First Responders. Once I started reading this story in the anthology, I couldn’t stop.

Murf has not had luck in the love department but he thinks he’s met his one. Unfortunately, there is a misunderstanding between Murf and Lana that prevents them from being together. Will Murf be able to make it right so they can be together?

This author is new to me but It was such a good story to read, I may have to read more! There are many other great stories in this book i highly recommended giving it a try!

This collection of stories about romance with first responders starts off with an EMT that is quick to jump to conclusions in “Romance on the Rig” by Kara Liane. Murf falls for Lana at first sighting, but he makes some assumptions based on observations. Rather than asking questions to verify anything, he continues acting on false assumptions and hating his own attraction to someone that he considers to be “out of bounds” for him. When they do get together, they’re fun and interesting in how they date. The author does a wonderful job of giving a lot of information that makes the characters real without bogging down the story. Murf continues to assume the worst and almost loses the girl until he learns to truly open up. This is a great story and touches some real issues of how hard it is to communicate sometimes.

“IN UNITY, THERE IS STRENGTH”

RISKING EVERYTHING is an anthology of stories featuring first responders. Some are super sexy and some are super sweet. There are stories filled with angst, romance and friendship.

Each story can be read as a stand-alone, and some have threads that come from a series that I will be adding to my “want to read” list.

Reconstructed Heart by K.L. Montgomery was one of my favorites. Often times in life, things happen that have a domino effect and we don’t know why until we can look back. That is what this story is about and it was heartbreaking and fantastic all at the same time.

Risking Everything was an amazing steamy and romantic collection of stories. The stories were well written and entertaining with excellently developed characters. I had a hard time picking which one was my favorite. I did find it easier to relate to female lead character Penelope Justice in “Always Kind Of Love” by author Amanda Seigrest. This story was a second chance Romance featuring a hunky Fireman name Ethan. It was a fun read. I really enjoyed all of the stories present in this collection and I highly recommend it. It is definitely something a varied group of romance readers would enjoy.

This anthology features ten stories by ten authors who bring us stories revolving around the love lives of first responders. Each story features a couple that deals with the drama of everyday life on top of the requirements of their jobs. Each story was well written, and I found myself falling in love with the characters throughout the book. Two of my favorite stories were Reconstructed Heart by K.L. Montgomery and Romance on the Rig by Kaira Lane.

Reconstructed Heart tells the story of Trey Prince, a member of the Collision Reconstruction Unit, called to scene of an accident where he finds himself personally invested in figuring out what happens. Jenna Labato is an officer that responds to the initial scene and tries to help Trey heal as he deals with the aftermath of the accident. Jenna is a strong character that balances Trey as he is falling apart. This story shows the human side of officers that deal with horrific situations on a daily basis. I found myself fully invested in their story and rooting for them.

Romance on the Rig focuses on Lana Royce and Sean “Murf” Murphy. Lana lives with her sister and helps take care of her niece and nephew. Murf is an EMT that has been burned in the past when it comes to his love life. From the beginning, there are misconceived notions and misunderstandings between Lana and Murf that may derail this relationship before it ever starts. Lana is so giving to those around here and Murf wants to be the guy to give her everything she needs, if he could just get out of his own way.

I enjoyed reading each of the stories in this anthology and will be looking forward to reading future books from each of the authors.

One hot steaming hero coming up. In this Anthology!

My review is on
Walk The Line
By Harlow Layne

Gage Walker is one of the men in blue. He is a twin and very close to his family. One night on a call, he finds himself down a cliff helping to keep Claire Blake alert and talking. While the responders cut her out of her car. He has no clue what it is about this woman, but he intends to find out. Read this story to find out if they have a HEA.

Harlow Layne is a new author for me. But after reading this fast page turning story. She has become amongst my favorites. Her story is steamy, hot and well written. You will find romance as well as suspense. My two favorite components in in most romances I love to read. Gage and Claire are just right for this book as well. I will be reading more from Harlow Layne!

Risking Everything: A Steamy Anthology of First Responders is a charity anthology, with all proceeds going to the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation. So, not only do you get ten superb stories from ten talented authors when you purchase Risking Everything, but you will also be helping out a very worthy charity in the process.
All the stories focus on the theme of ‘first responders’ from Firefighters, to Police Officers, EMT’s to Collision Investigators, and dedicated Emergency Dispatcher- are just a few of the many first responders who play a part in this fantastic book.
We get to see these everyday heroes as ‘real people’ with real issues and emotions. We get to look behind their professional mask, to the person behind the ‘job’. I really thought the authors did a great job of showing their characters vulnerabilities, quirks, and flaws. It made them all quite ‘real’, and entirely believable. It also made for some emotive reading which tugged at my heartstrings.
There is s define spicy element to the anthology too, which will keep you warm while you are reading. So, what are you waiting for? Grab yourself a copy and dive in. I’m sure you won’t regret it.

Thank you to all the contributing authors!

Risking Everything: A Steamy Anthology of First Responders. This was an anthology with ten amazing stories written by some of my favorite authors and also some that I haven’t read before. One of my absolute favorite authors, KL. Montgomery’s Reconstructed Heart was a great read. Trey is called to the scene of an accident and is met with some heart wrenching news. This story had me ugly crying at times but then mended my heart right back up. Ms. Montgomery has a way of tearing our hearts out and fixing them just as easily. This is definitely a must read!!

I knew I had to pick this anthology up as soon as it went up for preorder. I mainly got this for KL Montgomery as she is an automatic one click author for me, no matter what its about!
This review focuses on Reconstructed Heart by KL Montgomery

Reconstructed Heart broke my heart from the beginning and took me on a journey inside the minds of police officers and the emotional turmoil they feel on a daily basis and how hard that is to bring into a relationship. Jenna and Trey sparked from the get go but it sure took some time to get from benefits and comfort to showing the feelings for real. Like all of this authors stories, I was invested from start to finish. I loved these characters as they were different in a way from some of her previous characters in her books.

I will be reading the rest of these stories as i love first responder stories.

Risking Everything is a steamy anthology that gives us glimpses into the lives of the first responders! I had read three of the writers before (Kara Liane, Amanda Siegrist and KL Montgomery) so of course I checked out their stories first!
Reconstructed Heart by K.L. Montgomery gives us Trey Prince and Jenna Labato that meet on a gruesome accident scene and it takes them on a journey of picking up pieces of a broken heart and rebuilding the faith that has been lost! You know from the first page on that it would take a miracle and the writer gives us one! This story is a true testament to the lives of police officers and it is good to be reminded of it once in a while!
Romance on the Rig by Kara Liane gives us Air Force veteran Sean the “Murf” who is an EMT and a college student Lana. It is a story of recognizing love and trusting in that love and building a future one can rely on! The love takes a long way round as there are some mistakes and a misunderstanding but we all know that love conquers all!

Always Kind of Love by Amanda Siegrist gives us a second chances romance between Ethan McCord, our hot firefighter, and Penelope! It is also a great introduction into her McCord Family series! She gives us assumed unrequited love, PTSD, panic attacks, and dangerous arsonist! You will be sitting at the edge of your seat from page one!
I suggest you pick up a copy as you will not only get 10 hot and spicy stories but also will get a satisfaction from knowing that all the proceeds will go to Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation that honors the sacrifice of firefighter Stephen Siller who lost his life when saving other on 9/11. The Foundation honors the military and first responders who continue to make the sacrifice of life and limb for their country!

*This is a review of the story written by K.L. Montgomery titled Reconstructed Hearts.*
This story was written beautifully from the male characters point of view. Trey has been on the police force for a long while. Of course throughout his career he has dealt with and seen quite a bit of devastation. However, nothing prepares him for the terrible news that is delivered to him by a newer trooper on the unit. The bearer of bad news, Jenna, is younger and beautiful. The two end up becoming friends and try to develop a no-string attached sort of relationship. Things keep coming up and Trey has a hard time dealing with the weight of the trauma and weight of his career. He keeps pushing Jenna away thinking it is the right thing to do.
The push and pull of this story is charmingly frustrating. The emotions and the characters are so easy to relate to. It makes you think about all the things our blue line family has to go through and see on a daily basis. I thoroughly enjoyed this story.

Risking Everything is a anthology of some steamy reads involving first responders. Each one is steamier and hotter then the next. They were all great reads and can’t find anything I didn’t like about any of them. I can be honest and tell you my favorite was my K.L Montgomery and involved a trooper named Jenna and a CRU agent named Trey who used to be a trooper. That one had such a great storyline that had me reading page after page to find out what would happen next. Such a great anthology you don’t want to miss out on. Grab your copy today

Risking Everything: A Steamy Anthology of First Responders by Kara Liane, K.L. Montgomery, Harlow Layne, Amanda Siegrist, A.K. MacBride, Jody Kaye, Syd Ryan, Alyne Hart, Kelsey Cheyenne, Larissa Gail. This is an amazing Anthology.
I loved all the stories but got it because of K.L. Montgomery! Reconstructed Heart is the story of Trey Prince and Jenna Labato. Jenna is a State Trooper and Trey is starting a new job with a Collision Reconstruction Unit. When Trey makes a startling discovery at an accident scene Jenna is the one who tries to help him pick up the pieces. Trey doesn’t think he will ever recover but Jenna is determined to try. Its a wonderful story with a strong Female lead for a change and I really liked that.
Beautiful Persuasion by A.K. MacBride is a great story as well. Its about Raelyn who is reeling from a breakup and Griffin who is a hot, sexy Irishman. When they share a night of passion Raelyn is trying to determine if Griffin is worth losing her family for.
Rescuing Ryan by Syd Ryan is a sweet story about a sexy firefighter named Chris and a girl named Ryan who is working her way thru nursing school any way she can. When she meets Chris he is coming off a bad relationship and he realizes Ryan is going to be his most difficult rescue ever.
I really loved all these stories. You should read this anthology you will not be disappointed.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Risking Everything was a great 5 star read. This is a great collection of romance stories about first responders, fire fighters, police officers and many more. I was pulled in right from the beginning.

Romance on the Rig – Kara Liane: This is Murf and Lana’s story. They meet when Lana brings her niece and nephew to an event that Murf is at with the first responder vehicle. Lets just say there is a misunderstanding on Murfs part and he’s very short with Lana as she tries to flirt with him. When Lana realizes why Murf was so cold she is determined to talk to him and straighten things out. Will they be able to work things out? Will they get a HEA?

Reconstructed Heart – K.L. Montgomery: This is Trey and Jenna’s story. Trey meets Jenna on the scene of a terrible accident that he discovers involved a fellow police officer and friend. Jenna attempts to be there for Trey but he tries to push her away. When there is a scary turn of events, things change for Trey and how he feels, but could it be too late? There is also something else that really tugs at your heartstrings in this read.

Walk the Line: Gage – Harlow Layne: This is Gage and Claire’s story. Gage is called to a scene of a multi vehicle car accident. Claire is trapped in her car and Gage promises to stay with her. Taking him to his word Claire begs him to come to the hospital with her. There is something about Claire that really calls to him. When things take a scary twist will Gage stay with her or let her go?

Always Kind of Love – Amanda Siegrist: This is Ethan and Penolope’s story. They were high school sweethearts that eventually parted ways. Now Penelope is back in town and throws Ethan for a loop. Can this firefighter convince Penelope to give them another try?

Beautiful Persuasion – A.K. MacBride: This is Raelyn and Griffin’s story. When Raelyn meets Griffin she is pulled in by him, who doesn’t love an Irish accent. When she has to make a choice will she make the right one?

Going Down – Jody Kaye: This is Kat and Dash’s story. Kat is struggling with her parents divorce. She has built up walls to protect herself, but when she meets Dash will he be able to get through them?

Rescuing Ryan – Syd Ryan: This is Ryan and Chris’s story. These two meet when they are both out with other people, when Ryan’s date turns physical Chris steps in to help her. From here they continue to stay in touch and things develop into a steamy relationship. Can they have a HEA?

Perfect for Me – Alyne Hart: This is Luke and Grace’s story. When Grace returns home after several years, these two find themselves caught in a storm and are forced to stay at a cabin that holds lots of memories for them. Let’s just say things get very hot and steamy.

Call of Fate – Kelsey Cheyenne: This is Aubrey and Noah’s story. Aubrey is very protective of her heart, when she meets Noah things change. Can she trust him? Will she run or will she stay?

Loving Lindsey – Larissa Gail: Gavin is known as a player but something is slowly changing for him. As he sees what his friends relationships are turning into, he starts to want the same thing. When he meets Lindsey, has he finally found the one?

Overall, all of these stories were great. I can’t wait to read more from all of these authors. We get so many great stories with different themes and so many hot heroes. The other great thing about this book is that all of the proceeds go to the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation. If your looking for a great read. 1-click and get started now.

Risking Everything is a collection of work by some fantastic authors. All done in aid of an amazing cause this series is an anthology of stories all about people in the first response industry.
K.L. Montgomery has to be one of my favourite authors right now so to see her name mentioned in this collection instantly meant I would be giving this ago. Her story is brilliant. The main characters had such a connection and chemistry between them. I was drawn to them straight away and desperately wanted them to get their happy ending.
This is an anthology that I can see will just keep on giving as I am looking forward to keep dipping in and out with a different story each time.

Risking Everything: A Steamy Anthology Of First Responders is a collection of hot and steamy novels in which the main character(s) is a first responder. Among this collection is Reconstructed Heart by K.L. Montgomery. I have read other works by this author and have found that I love their writing style, characters and story lines. Due to this, I chose to read Reconstructed Heart first.
This book is filled with so much emotion. I would add a ‘tissues needed’ warning with this book. There are some really heart wrenching, heart breaking scenes in this book that will have you loving and hating the author at the same time: Firstly, for writing such a powerful story and secondly for putting you through such emotions.
Trey Prince and Jenna Labato are both awesome characters. Trey is called out to an RTA in his job with the Collision Reconstruction Unit only to face one of his wort nightmares – one of the victims is his friend, colleague and former mentor. Jenna Labato is the state trooper on the scene and forms a bond with Trey.
This is a powerful story of how 2 people come together to help them through a traumatic time in their lives. It is so well written and will drag you deep into the story that you will not want to put it down. In fact, I binge read this in one sitting as I just could not put it down.
I thoroughly recommend this beautiful, emotional story.

I give Risking Everything: A Steamy Anthology of First Responders, 4 stars.

This is a great anthology, but I would like to focus on Reconstructed Heart by K.L. Montgomery. The story is very unique, not something I imagined when I started it. It shocks you right away, and then throws the main characters for a loop. Trey is devastated by what he finds out when he responds to a call, and he doesn’t know how to fix it. He also has feelings for a fellow cop, but they feel so wrong given the circumstances. Not to mention he doesn’t feel worthy of her. The struggle for him is quite clear. But Jenna does not give up. She sees something in him. This is a very emotional story, have some tissues on hand just in case. I don’t know how the author wrote this without tears in her eyes. But at the same time, you feel attraction between these two, and a pull that’s more than just sex. For a shorter story, it really is complex.

But this is just one amazing story from this book. If you enjoy your romances on the hot side, and like to read about first responders, this book is definitely for you.

I love this collection of steamy and short romance novels with a centric point of view, first responders. I love a man in a uniform like most of us women I know and this brings you ten of them by some of the best romance authors. I have a lot of favorites on the author list but also some new ones to check out so that is an added bonus. I will just leave a snippet on the K.L. Montgomery novel, Reconstructed Heart. I will have to come back and dish on the others as I finish them but loved Reconstructed Heart so much I had to come share now! This would make a great gift for the reader this holiday too!

Reconstructed Heart by KL Montgomery is a short but packed and entertaining little read. I adored Trey and Jenna and their chemistry was outstanding. I was on one heck of an emotional rollercoaster throughout the story. I found the little tears struggling to escape several times while reading but it was balanced with just the right amount of sweet love to redeem my hearts faith in love. I adore that attention is being brought to our first responders, regardless of the line of duty, and how they make our world a better place to live in for very little thanks and appreciation. I can’t wait to read what else is in this collection and look forward to seeing what will be the next thing from KL Montgomery as well as the rest of the talented authors.

I like how all the books are around the main theme but each is so different that it doesn’t bother me to read book after book on the same genre. Most of these are new to me authors. They cover police, fire, EMT and even Ski Patrol! Oh the 9-1-1 operator one is ingenious as well. I don’t think I have ever read a book on ski patrol or a 9-1-1 operator before. I liked the variety and wished some of these have other books in a series or with the same characters I could pick up. These all have some drama, suspense, humor (83yo Lolly comes to mind), tears and steam.

My three favorites are:
Going Down by Jody Kaye. This one is the ski patrol one and this also includes a hairless cat. It’s full of thought provoking ideas on life as well as how to stay positive and keep your wild side. Very enlightening and enjoyable!

Walk the Line by Harlow Layne. This one has twin Clark Kent looking cops that are easy to love. Gage and Claire really drew me into their story. I loved how he cared for her. But I would love to get Tate’s story. This has suspense and drama.

Beautiful Persuasion by A.K. MacBride. The reason I LOVED this one is all Thatcher! He is the secondary character but makes a huge impact. He has that protective older brother thing going on when he gets on (sister)Rae about staying out overnight. Then they noogie it out. Haha! The story is great too between Rae and Griffin but Thatcher and his bossiness/protectiveness just called out to me. I would LOVE to see his story.

Overall this is a great collection of stories. I enjoy books like this for the introduction to new authors. there are many to chose from and always some you will like.

Who doesn’t love a man or woman in uniform? Firefighters, Paramedics, Police Officers, OH MY! This anthology has it all. And proceeds go to Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation makes it even better!
9 of these 10 authors are new to me so what a great surprise that I now have that many more authors to stalk…err….follow!!

Romance on the Rig by Kara Liane is a cute insta-love story about Lana and Sean. Even with some misunderstandings, their fire burns brightly and right from the start!

Loving Lindsay by Larissa Gail is a heart-breaking, second chance love story about Lindsey, John and Gavin.

Reconstructed Heart by K.L. Montgomery is a story of Jenna and Trey, two people brought together over the death of another. This story has a few twists and an underlying message. You really don’t want to miss out!

This entire anthology is so worth the read! Each story so different but so good as well. You won’t be sorry when you go one click this one!
