Bailey Murphy is definitely not your stereotypical girl. She’s from an Irish background and loves her Daddy and give her a beer and football and she is in heaven. The last time she looked she had all the correct anatomical parts but all that girly stuff is not for her. She is sassy and stubborn and definitely a tomboy but under all that is a girl who has been damaged and left insecure by someone she thought had her best interests at heart. Someone that took away her dreams. Someone she has kept hidden from family and friends. Bailey thought she had all her defenses in place, shields up, gates closed, padlocks locked and a wall around her heart that rivaled the great wall of china. But that was before him, one look and one night was all it took. However it was something she did not want or need, right? What she is finally learning is that she is a girl but still not a girly girl!

Jake had just returned home from living away for many years. He has just started his own business and a partnership and he loves his job. He loves his family and friends and is building a life he is proud of. Coming home was a great decision. He considered himself lucky but that was before her, one look and one night was all it took. He doesn’t understand women and this woman more than others.

Will Bailey finally let Jake in? Will Jake give up when all seems lost? Will the two be pulled together in the most unlikely circumstances? Will their lives be changed forever? Will Bailey’s past be too much to handle? Will Bailey finally see herself for what she is? Will Bailey finally decide she is worth being love?

This book is the third one in the series and just like the other two it is a great story. Sylvie Stewart has become a favorite of mine, I find her work rather addictive. She can weave a great story that keeps you wanting more. You will find yourself laughing out loud at the antics and find yourself loving each and everyone of these characters, flawed or not they become family.

Evan Mershano is the billionaire prince of the Mershano empire but with that comes conditions. Conditions that see him playing a game that he doesn’t want to play but two can play the game, correct? He is a bachelor married to his job so marriage itself is not ever on the cards. If he doesn’t live up to expectations he doesn’t get to keep control of his empire. Evan finds a solution staring him in the face, one where he can meet those expectations and conditions and maintain control of his empire. When Evan takes control he finds more than he bargained for. What he once thought he wanted had been twisted on it’s ear.

Will Sarah safe guard her heart? Will she be able to stand the test of time? Will she get more than she ever dreamed or will reality get in the way? Will Sarah learn that all is not as it seems in time to save herself? Will Evan see that there is more to life? Will he lose the one person he thought he could trust? Can he play the Prince’s game and win? But what is the cost if he does win?

I enjoyed reading this story. Lexi knows how to write and capture your attention. I enjoyed the chemistry and friendship between the characters.

The Spark by Sylvie Stewart is the second book in the Carolina Connections Series. This is a standalone book but is better enjoyed after reading the first book, since characters are introduced in the first book. The story is about the fun, vivacious Fiona Pierce and the known manwhore Mark Beckett. Fiona is spunky, fashionable, and a force of one. She is a great friend, daughter, and an ok employee, but something is always lingering in the back of her mind. Mark is a great son, brother, employee, but does not have any complications in his relationships. The two are brought into a situation that will take a bunch of willpower not to kill one another but for the greater good of helping someone close to Mark. Will there be a spark between the two?
Fiona is fantastic. She has a mouth that does not know when to stay shut but she is devoted to those close to her. Mark is incredibly sexy and does not know how to deal with “shortcake” aka Fiona. I enjoyed the playful verbal sparring between the two characters and the interactions between all the characters. I was happy to read this after enjoying the first book so much already. The story is fun and flirtatious and was a quick read. The characters are well described and become a life of their own. I was anxious to see if they could overcome their personal obstacles. I now look forward to reading the third book in the series.

I have really enjoyed reading this entire series. I highly recommend it. Especially to those that like cliff hangers, sex, a little mystery, a little adventure and lots of action and even more sex. There are loveable and hate-able characters in every book and The Final Chapter is no different. I am looking forward to reading more from Shandi Boyes.

Isaac and Isabelle have faced all kinds of turmoil through-out their short intense love affair. Arrests, their own jealousy and even other people’s jealousy, FBI investigations, and just about any other thing Fate and Shandi Boyes could throw at them. But somehow, some way they come out stronger and even more in love, if that is even possible. This book has the greatest challenge EVER thrown their way. Watching the growth of the two main characters and even a few of the friends through the series made my heart grow. I could only imagine how Boyes feels after having written this series.

“It was only then did I realize that life’s greatest accomplishments can’t be calculated by wealth or power. It’s measured by the people you have in your life. And that is why I will stop at nothing to ensure Isabelle once again becomes mine, because she is without a doubt, my greatest accomplishment.”

The first book of this series had so much sex that I wasn’t sure if I could love these characters or enjoy the series. Of course if you know me I will give everything a chance, including things/people I’m not 100% sure of. I am so glad I continued this series!!! I absolutely love Isaac and Isabelle! Each book just got better and better with this, The Final Chapter, the best one. Again I am looking forward to what come next from Shandi Boyes.

The Lucky One by Sylvie Stewart is the third book in the Carolina Connections Series. I was anxious to get to this book since I enjoyed the first two so much. For those who have not read the first two, great news this is a standalone book also. I recommend reading the others so that you have some history with the characters but that is not necessary to enjoy the book. This story is about Bailey and Jake. Bailey is beautiful but is very much a tomboy. She works for her family’s construction business. She holds her own against men and find that she can relate to them well. Jake has just made his way back to his hometown. He is into landscaping but that is not how the two meet. At a wedding, Bailey’s brother’s to be exact, she is feeling very womanly in a dress and heals. She catches the attention of Jake and the story takes off from there.
This is a HEA story like the others in the series but despite the predictable ending is fun to enjoy the ride. The characters are fun but realistic. Bailey is against “girly” things but realizes that she also can enjoy being a bit girly at times. Jake is fun and a challenge against everything Bailey thought she knew. The story reminds us that you never know where your someone special will be. It could be someone you know or someone new. We just have to let our guard down and enjoy the journey.

Each book in this series just gets better and better. However, the title for this book is a little deceiving, the mysteries are not unmasked. Some things have been solved but then more questions have arisen in their place. So I guess that is one of the things making me want more and more of Isabelle and Isaac. Thanks Shandi Boyes!
This book starts off where the last one ended. Each book in this series must be read in order. While the first book was setting the scene for Isabelle and Isaac’s whirlwind of a relationship with more than enough sex, the second book let us see a little more into their personalities. This book, the third in the series, gives us the heart break we need in order to hopefully find a happily ever after in the last book!?
Shandi Boyes has a writing style that captivates the reader. Much like her characters do. I love how we get to see inside both Isabelle and Isaac’s minds because just when I start thinking “what in the world are they thinking?!” Boyes gives me the other side of the situation.
The ending in this book, to me was a given. I just didn’t think it would take so long to actually happen. It’s not a surprise but it sure sucks for Isabelle. She says so herself a few times in this book that the whole world is against them, of course she uses a few choice words that Amazon won’t let me use so you’ll have to read the book to get the actual quote! Trust me on this…you want…no you need to read this series. My recommendation is to go one click the entire series right now!

5 Stars only because that’s max, this is an off the star chart read.

Sad I’m done with this book, but happy because I can go right back to page 1 and read it again 🙂

I normally start a review talking about the characters of the book and leave my feelings to the end, but I am putting my feelings first for this one so everyone that doesn’t hit the see more will still see them. I do not normally read paranormal romances or paranormal stories of any kind but this one for some reason caught my attention. I was scared because they normally don’t hold my interest and I then don’t finish the book, which I hate which is why I don’t read them. THIS BOOK!!!! I don’t even have words to tell you how good this book was written, it had me from page 1 and refused to let go till I was finished, and I don’t feel like I took a breath throughout the entire story. This author is AMAZING, and I can not wait to pull up her website and grab anything there that’s part of this series…I want more, and I’m sure you will too. So if you are anything like me and don’t read this book because it’s a paranormal story trust me and give it a shot..you will LOVE it!!

Alexia Maria Garda-Martinez has always known she was different, and if she didn’t know it most everyone let her know by calling her a demon and showing fear when they looked at her. With her red eyes, blood red colored hair, and pale skin. She’s lived for years in foster care and state homes, usually ending badly and forcing her on to the next, she thought she had a home until tragedy struck and she was without a home yet again, until the Martinez’s. Where she now has a family that she loves and that loves her. She has a great career, a full life and a wonderful best friend/roommate Mindy. Along with some very vivid dreams that she can not explain or forget about involving a dark, mysterious man she has named Midnight.

Devon Waters was forced to leave Montville, New York, and his twin brother Cam fifteen years ago. Now he is back trying to reconnect with his brother, who is a detective working on a case, a brutal family murder with unexplainable clues.

There are forces at work in this small town, a war between good and evil. All of the characters in this story are drawn into this war in one way or the other. The story focuses a lot on Devon and Alexia, but there are other characters as well that are just as important.

I can’t even explain anymore of this book, because I could go on for days telling this story, all I will say is that it was outstanding and I do highly recommend it and the epilogue….ugh!!

He wakes not remembering who he is or what happened to him. He finds himself in a nightmare he can not wake from. Day after day it only gets worse, he can not find any relief. He finds himself chained to a shed, if you can call it a shed, he is hungry, he is thirsty,he is hurt. Where is his family? Where is the people who love him? What is his name? Who has captured him? Why is he here? He didn’t think he was bad, was he? Can anyone hear him? Why won’t help come? Will help come? My memories are going, my sight is going, I think my mind is going.

As the title says this is definitely a story from a different point of view. When Leaves Fall is definitely a dark thriller with a twist you will not see coming in a million years. It is also very sad at the end. You will not find another story like this one. It is very cleverly written.

And then there are some books that make you say WTF did I just read! How can it “end” like that!? Why Shandi Boyes, WHY?!? That’s how I felt after finishing this book!

OMG what a better story line this one has but with the same intensity as book one. I really felt like book one was just about Isaac and Isabelle’s uncontrollable sex life, but I can now see it was the building up for THIS BOOK! This story continues off right where book one, Enigma of Life left off. Isaac and Isabelle have been separated by the truth that Isabelle is an FBI agent and she may have withheld that information from Isaac. He finds out when she has to arrest him. The chemistry these two have is just as hot as ever but because Isaac gets arrested there is way less sex! Book one was over the top with it, which made my feelings for the characters just so so. This book there is a little more “unraveling” of the characters’ personalities and actual character, making me love them both! And then there is this enlightenment for me:

“It is hard to explain, but this is us, we show our affection through sexual contact. Our love, our desires, our needs, they are all reflected in the most intimate ways.”

This was the eye opening into Isaac and Isabelle’s fast paced relationship that I needed. My feelings about book one changes a little with this statement. I found this book was much harder to put down than book one. ~Darn 9-5 job!~ I can not wait to see what Boyes brings to the next book. I definitely recommend this book but only after reading the first one.

This story would have easily been a five star if there had actually been a little less sex! (I can’t believe I just wrote that!) But really. Our main characters are Isaac Holt and Isabelle Brahn. And boy oh boy do they have a lot of sex together. Bathrooms, airplanes, counters, cars. Yeah a lot of sex. They also have a lot of secrets from each other. I’m not really sure how I feel about these two. There is no denying the chemistry and lust they have but do they have more than that? Can they really have a relationship in the true sense of the word?

“His mouth-watering scent invades my senses and spurns on my pursuit to offer him comfort in the only way I know how. Sexually.”

I think even Isabelle hopes there is more to them. “I know my relationship with Isaac could be construed as only being based on lust and attraction.”

I liked the feeling while I was reading that something big was going to happen. There are a few characters mentioned and situations referred to that could add up to a big explosion in the end.
Did I mention the sex? There’s a lot of it. I’m worried about what happens when their work lives meet their private lives. It seems the secrets that they keep from each other may just be the ultimate downfall or that big explosion in the end. Isaac says “If you are going to be accused of something, you may as well do it.” To me this is a little foreboding and may actually be the catalyst to the explosion!

Just when I thought the “relationship” might turn into something a little more than just very hot sex, like maybe a happily ever after, real life meets work life, which equals the end of this book! GRRRR!! And BOOM! Shandi Boyes certainly had me turning the pages as fast as I could!

Definitely only for those readers over 18. Quickly moving onto book two to find out what happens with these two!

Officer Bryan Coy loves woman but very rarely more than once. Yes, he was definitely a flirt, a playboy, as long as there is willing woman, the badge bunnies at the Blue Line Bar than he is your man. Officer Coy was first assigned to traffic duty on a street where cars used to race through, to stop those speeding cars to shut the woman up. She would not stop complaining, but the reason for the complaints was definitely a good one. Even though the offenders have stopped he can not pull himself away and stop coming round. Most of the other officers give him grief but what they don’t know is that he would take this any day cause the woman in question has found a way into his heart. She just doesn’t know it yet.

Lexis Johannes was left high and dry but her ex but she is content with her life. She has spent the last 6 years dedicating herself to her son, Ashton and he is worth every sacrifice, no men, no sex, just 100 percent Ashton. But all that changed when Officer Coy started showing up on her curb. Now she feels things she has not felt for years. After flirting and asking her out is she ready to make that leap of faith? Being burnt once has left her terrified of dating and letting a man in their lives.

Will Lexis relent and take Officer Coy up on his offer? Can she let a man in her life?

This book as all the trimmings and then some, action, drama, mystery and suspense. With a hot man in uniform there is lots of hot and passionate sex scenes. The characters are sizzling. I enjoyed the first book to this serious but loved this one. Can’t wait for the next installment.

Will Aria let Trevin in? Will she finally share her secret from the past? Will her past catch up to her? Will Trevin finally give up because it is too hard to fight for?

This is the third book in the series and is just as good as the other two. Ashlie weaves a story that pulls you in and you feel like you are right there with these wonderful loving and funny characters. This is one series you do not want to miss.

In Oklahoma she has found a life she has fought hard to build and she has the most amazing best friends, Callie and Aria who are her family now. Cassie is studying hard to be a teacher, in fact she is nearly finished her study and is getting class time which she is loving. Teaching is her calling and her students adore her. Cassie is always studying but her best friends have decided she needs to put the books down for a while and learn to start living life, have a little fun, find a boy. Cassie does not need a distraction, does not need a man, does not need a complication but she is finding that someone or something is getting under her skin.

Jamal Jenkins had to grow up fast as a teenager, much sooner than someone that age should have to do. He is the point guard for the Thunder basketball team and is good at it. He is in the lime light and is portrayed as a player, a ladies man, a womaniser but if only they knew. Jamal would like nothing more than to live a quiet life with his family, his friends, with the people he loves. Jamal finds himself thinking of more than his next game, more than his responsibilities, he is distracted in a way he never thought was possible for him, something or someone is getting under his skin.

Can Jamal convince Cassie believe that he is a good guy? Can he convince her that he can be trusted? Will Cassie finally give in to her heart and finally trust the man before her? Will Cassie finally find love? Will Cassie’s secret finally catch up to her?

Ashlie Knapp has written another good story. The characters make you feel with them, laugh with them, cry with them. You feel a connection with each one of them and drawn into the story with them. Well worth the read.

No problem. You want a coffee with hazelnut twirl, she’s your girl. Molly works with her bestie and has her motley crue of feisty, quirky and opinionated customers that make her day complete. Seeing them satisfied and happy is not only her bread and butter, they are as necessary as the air she breathes, they have become her family, and she would do anything for them as they would for her.

Kellan and his three best friends since forever have finally made their dream come true. The dream of them coming together and opening the Powerhouse Martial Arts studio. Teaching others their passion is what they love to do. Making a success is a given, failing is not in their vocabulary for these Alpha males. They spent years honing their skill sets, hours and hours of practice and continuous competitions have made them what they are today. I must say this book is a fun read. The characters had me laughing at their crazy antics, their feisty bantering and incredible chemistry, not to mention a dash of romance. A good read that I recommend to all.

Olivia Crawford’s life has been forever changed, she has been to hell and is trying to find her way back. One step forward, two steps back, this has been her life for so long she doesn’t know how to live any more. For someone so young she has had to experience for far longer than she should have. Being away for so long without support was one of the hardest things she has had to endure. Here she is on her first day at SCU and she is wondering how she will survive it but for her twin brother Finn, she is willing to try. However when a part of the past turns up it turns her world upside down. The walls that were coming down brick by brick are now firmly back in place.

Nathaniel Ford is studying hard at SCU, his past has made him decide what he wants from his future. He live in a frat house with his best friend, Finn, his frat Brothers and he has the best of friends. He is from old money but that doesn’t rule his life. He has known tragedy and his family life is not what it what appears from the outside looking in. Nate and his mates literally run into an angel and from that moment on his life is changed forever. This angel is sassy and feisty but at the same time broken and he has never wanted anything more in his life.

Can Nate break down Olivia’s walls and show her what a real life looks like. Can Olivia let another person in? Can she trust enough to share her secret and all that it involves or will the ghosts from the past stop that from happening? Will Olivia believe the worst and push everyone away, just when she needs them the most? Can Olivia get over a betrayal? Will Nate lose it all?

I enjoyed the story and it held my interest. The story flowed well and it was emotional but sweet. There is a little suspense and some action, at times I wanted to slap some sense into the main female character but all in all the author created a story where you will find yourself being drawn into their world.

Road-tripped by Nicole Archer is the first in the Ad Agency Series. The story is about copywriter Callie Murphy and Shimura’s advertising manwhore Walker Rhodes. The two have ended up on a cross-country trip in an RV for a client’s ad campaign. Callie is brash, has a bad attitude, and does not like Walker or his good looks. Walker thinks that this will be the trip from hell versus time to find his passion for photography again. Can the two get along and survive for the two-month trip?
The characters are great in this story. Callie is small but fierce. She has been hurt in the past and does not want to let anyone in especially Walker. Walker is handsome and a Southern gentleman. All the women love being around him. Is there more to Walker than Callie can see? The development of the characters is good and reminds us not to judge a book by its cover, or a person. I could relate to Callie and her having to deal with people after her past experiences. Walker is great and is artistic and fun.
The two are fun and engaging. I enjoyed the story and could not put it down, while led to a long night. Ms. Archer pulled me into a fun story and I look forward to reading the next books in the series. After reading the book I want to take a cross-country road trip myself to see what all the fun is about.

Head-tripped by Nicole Archer is the second in the Ad Agency Series. This book can be read as a standalone novel. This story is about violinist, Effie Murphy and Elias aka “El Love”, a rock star. Effie has moved to New York City to rebuild her life. She is having a tough go of it. While doing a favor for a friend she runs into Elias. She has no idea who he is, even though he is a well-known rock star. Something about Effie catches his attention and he is intrigued by her.
After a fantastic weekend of music writing with Effie, Elias must leave town. His band is going on tour in Europe and he knows that he will not be seeing Effie again. When the two cross paths again the sparks are lit. Some of the characters are from the first book in the series so if you read the first book the reappearance of characters will be even more enjoyable.
I was so excited to get my hands on this book. The characters are fun and sexy. I felt for Effie as she must make tough decisions. Elias is great and very human. He is realistic and struggling with how to handle his relationship with Effie and stardom. I could not wait to find out how they would handle all the challenges of love and Elias’s rock stardom. I tore through it as quickly as the first book. I look forward to reading more of Nicole Archer’s books.

Kyle Kelly is only twenty six but he is the best at what he does and that is play for the Oklahoma Thunder. He is currently the man and everybody loves the sexy charismatic man and pure gentleman. All he has ever wanted to do is play basketball and he knows he is damn lucky to be where he is but winning an NBA championship would be the icing on the cake. But is he unknowingly missing something?

Will Callie’s dream come true? Will she break the one rule she has lived by? Will Callie find herself back in the same situation with her heart shattered? Can Callie learn to trust again? Will Callie find love? Will Kyle win the heart of the spunky and sassy girl? Will he earn her trust? Will he lose the things he loves most in life? Will he remember what is important in life or will it be too late?

Enjoyed the characters in this story You are immediately drawn into the story by the characters that were fun, sassy, spunky and witty. I found myself laughing out loud at their antics. It was a great read from start to end. It was light hearted, funny and all round entertaining. Ashlie is a good writer and I can not wait to read more of her outstanding work. For those of you who like a good romance with a little sports thrown in then look no further.

Did she have no one or did they not care? After spending weeks of waiting for memories to return she decides it’s time to take hold of her life and make it mean something, make it a new life. After deciding she needs to feel again she needs to take charge of herself, she needs something more. As she steps out into the night and into a club she finds more than she bargained for, a mysterious stranger that makes her feel, a voice that makes her tingle, a touch that makes her forget, this is what she needs. Just one night to let everything go but after he left she felt lost and alone once more.

Rush has his brother and his club. A club where anything goes. A club full of women, men and sex but he doesn’t ever touch, his rule, besides they don’t offer the relief he likes. But when she walked into the club he knew he could not stay away, he had to have her, he had to touch her, he had to have a taste of her. But one touch, one taste and it wasn’t enough, he broke his one rule and had to walk away. After all hell broke loose he couldn’t stay away, he had to see her. Had to make sure she was ok. From that one night, when trouble walked through his door, he was thrown back into a world he never wanted to go back to. A world that hurt the people he loves, a world of pain and torture but for all that he would do anything to keep those he loves safe, he would do anything for those he cares about.

I enjoyed the way I was drawn into this story and I didn’t want to put it down. There are lots of twists and turns that you won’t see coming. I loved all the characters and they provided just the right amount of levity and I loved the way the friends had each other backs. It is a romance with a different twist.

Ascenders: Omorrow is the third book in C. L. Gaber’s Ascenders Saga. I personally do not think that it should/could be read as a standalone! There is so much that we have learnt about all of the main characters and the dynamics between and among them and their motivation in the first two books and you would totally lose out on that!
I have to say that so far Omorrow has been my absolute favorite out of the three. I do NOT know where the writer finds her inspiration, her imagination simply blows me away with every single page! I am telling you, I cannot wait for the next book! She has left me in a limbo, again, waiting for my next fix!
This story runs you through a gamut of emotions – I cried, a lot, I laughed, I raged, I feared, I …. Well, you get the picture … This books keeps you on the edge of your seat, literally, and you will NOT leave before you have finished it AND then end comes way too early …
This is a continuing story of Walker and Daniel and their friends and foes where they continue on their journey to finish the mission given to them by the Higher Authority. You will find out if you know your history and historical figures, it is such a fun to go and say, hi, I know who she means!
I love how the writer has created such a strong character (and female role model) in Walker, I kept falling more in love with her with every chapter. Daniel is nothing to sneeze at either. The writer has given us a super couple with a fantastic set of friends.
I recommend this series to anyone, doesn’t matter if you are young or old, everyone will find something (actually a lot) to enjoy!

Cecilia and Tyreese: A Short Story (Under Ground #0.4) by Alice Rachel is part of the Under Ground series. I would highly recommend that you read the previous books in this story so that you have some background information that would be helpful. In this book we get to see how Cecilia got where she is today. This story is about falling in love with the wrong person. This story has some suspense and of course you can’t forget some romance. You will enjoy how this author can create a story with characters that you will be able to connect to and relate to. The way she is able to create characters that are futuristic but yet true to life is great. You will enjoy how this story will pull you in from the first word and keep you engaged until the end. Find out what Cecilia’s story is.

Cecilia is a young girl who has better things to do then to fall for a boy. Will her heart have other plans? Then one day while at the library she runs into him, he is staring at her. She is a little feisty with him but that doesn’t seem to make a difference to him. Will she finally let go of her feelings and let her heart take over? What will she do when she is forced to make some difficult choices?

Tyreese is a young boy who meets a girl at the library and is fascinated by her. He is determined that she gets to know him. What happens when she finally does give in? Do they have a chance at happiness? Will an enemy take revenge and take the upper hand? How long will his love last?

Cecilia and Tyreese’s relationship is one that is forbidden. You can’t always help who you fall in love with which is what happens here. But what happens with these two will make you want to see more of them. There are many twists and turns with these two that you will need to see what happens with them. They are both strong characters that grow through the story. They both know what they want and aren’t afraid to break the rules to get what they want. But how many rules will they break and will it put them both in danger? Is there happiness in their future?

This is one of my favorite series that I have read. Alice Rachel has given us many different characters but they all relate to each story and each other. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series. Alice loves spending time with her husband and guinea pigs. When she is not writing, she teaches French, reading and drawing. You will enjoy how this story will pull you into this world that you will lose track of time. I read this story in one sitting because I found it hard to put down. This story is fast paced and will keep you reading until the end. I highly recommend this story as I know you will want to read the next installment of this series as much as I did.

One day she wakes up and realizes that she needs to stop chasing the past. This is her second chance at life. A chance to start over and become whomever she wants. She decides to join a running club in her hotel and meets Troy. Troy and his friends take her under their wings like a broken bird needing mending. Keenan can’t remember how many friends she used to have but these new ones have become like family to her.

One evening while having drinks with the boys, Keenan decides she needs to start exploring her sexuality ; find out what she likes. Troy sends her to a sex club called Dangereux, omitting the part that his brother is the owner. Sparks fly when Lincoln “Rush” Moore sees Keenan. What a panty-wetting way to meet someone! Rush decides he is not sharing her with anyone. They fall for each other pretty quickly but problems arise that are out of their control. Issues that put Keenan in harm’s way. Can he protect her? What will happen when she recovers her memory?

I think that the author could have played up the S and M a little more or Mick should have caused more problems. Other than that it was an enjoyable read with a nice surprise at the ending. It was nice the way she tied real life events into her story making the book more realistic.

After two years she finally has her life back on track running her own business taking care of and training horses. She has her family and her friends and although she misses him daily she has resigned herself to a life of independence living on nothing but her memories.

Brock Baisdin runs his own construction company, has a great family and good friends. He has become very picky when it comes to women after suffering through a really bad break up. He’s not looking for love but he isn’t opposed to it if the right one comes along.

Amy agrees to meet a friend for dinner, when he doesn’t show up Brock steps in to rescue her from being completely stood up. After a few drinks and shooting pool they realize their attraction is too strong to deny. Her guilt weighs heavy on her mind and has a hard time accepting these feelings she hasn’t had in over two years. Brock knows there’s a lot he must overcome to be in Amy’s life and feels up to the task. As their connection grows and they spend more time together something and somebody threatens everything they are trying so hard to build. Painful memories re-enter, she can’t live through another loss but looks as though she will have to. Will circumstances and others interference bring all the painful heartbreak back? Can Amy and Brock get their happily ever after? Can they learn to trust in what they are feeling?

I can only think of one word to describe this story, Brilliant, every word, every twist and turn of this book was amazing. I felt every emotion while reading this book. I cried, I laughed, and I all but threw my kindle at the wall a couple times out of anger and frustration. I loved these characters and didn’t want the book to end. Thank you Betty Shreffler for an amazing story…going in my to be read again folder for sure. Loved it!!

Encroachment is the second book in Monica DeSimone’s Coach’s Shadow Trilogy. I guess you could read it as a standalone but reading the first book would give you some background information on the other characters that appear in the story. The series is a sport romance and by now, I can say I am a fan of sports romance! I loved how Monica showed us what happened to the characters from the first book and that is why I stand with the statement that you absolutely should read the first book before starting on this one!
This story takes you through a gamut of emotions, I cried and I laughed and I raged and I was so proud of the heroine that I could barely contain it! The writer has created another story that pulls you from the first page! She has created characters that bring along a journey and make us feel what they are feeling and I am telling you, they feel deep so you feel deep …
This story is about Claire McEvoy and Jackson ‘Jack’ Alexander. Jack has loved Claire since she was 15 years old and he was 22 when they were the best friends. He knows the secret Claire has been hiding for the past 23 years, he knows the violence she lived through and admires her for how she has picked up the pieces and what kind of a woman she has become. Jack has never forgotten about Claire and has always kept his eyes on her and now, when he is back in her life, he will NOT allow her to push him away.
Throughout the story, we are kept on tenterhooks, will Jack succeed and pull down the walls Claire has had to build to cope with the violence she experienced when she was 15. Will he get her to trust him …? Will he win her …? Will Claire give Jack a chance to make her happy …?
I cannot wait for the third book in the series, I hope she does not keep us waiting too long … We need to find out what happens next!!!

Dropout is the third book in Jamie Schlosser’s The Good Guys series that takes place in the little town of Tolson in the middle of nowhere of Midwest America! Well, you can read it as a standalone but really, why would you not read Trucker and Dancer before tackling Dropout knowing that you would get so much more out of it …
This story is about 19-year-old James ‘Jimmy’ Peabody Johnson and a 21-year-old Mackenna ‘Mack’ Connelly. I know I know, some would be put off by the age difference but heck, I have rarely met someone in their 20ies who would be as mature as Jimmy was. I do not believe in age, I believe in who you are deep down and he is kind, considerate and feels strong. Mack is another one who is way mature beyond her years and there is no surprise there, she has experienced a lot in her 21 years.
There are a lot of holy moly moments in this book, I cried and I laughed and I got angry … so I ran a whole gamut of emotions, it was that well written! Jamie really knows how to spin a story and pull you in (it was another late night with this book as I needed to finish it!).
I loved that the writer showed us that one does not need to go and get a college degree to be successful and happy in their lives, you simply need to find your passion and follow it. You can make a beautiful life in a small town amongst hard working people that have your back!
I very much enjoyed to get know Jimmy’s grandmother Beverly more (we met her first time in the first book and she was a total hoot!). She is such a character and she made me miss my grandmother who has been gone for over 20 years … What an acceptance and joie de vivre! Not a dull moment!
I invite you on a ride that will not leave you cold! I hope that Jamie will have some more Good Guys to write about!

Dancer is the second book in Jamie Schlosser’s The Good Guys series. I have to admit, I jumped straight into it after finishing the first book (Trucker). Jamie did NOT disappoint me! It was actually quite a few degrees hotter than Trucker and it made so sense when I think of Colton. You can probably read it as a standalone but you get much more out of it if you read Trucker first!
Dancer is a hot and sexy ‘best friends falling in love’ story that blows you out of water! The chemistry between Colton Evans and Brielle “Ellie” Mitchell was off the charts, the story was fast paced but not too fast, I could not put it down until I had finished it (it was another late night for me…why could we not just live off reading books…).
I loved Brielle, she was such a sassy, independent and sweet girl who had made it through all those challenges thrown on her way, she comes through with flying colors (just picture a small town’s prejudice and gossip and … you hopefully can imagine what she has had to fight with). Colton is nothing to sneeze at either. Well, he is a 22-year-old with a little problem, things below his belt buckle have not been working the way they should and you can imagine how it makes him feel … Well, it takes only one glance and Ellie and that little problem is a problem of past …
Jamie throws in couple of unexpected twists that make sense and show us what Colton and Ellie are made of! I wish there were more 22 year olds of their caliber, we would have much more hope for a better future then!
I am sure that once you have read and loved Tucker, you will be like me, hungry for the next one!

Alejandro is a world renowned transplant surgeon who after suffering a horrifying tragedy, has just moved back home after living away for years. He is trying to put his past behind him and is settling into his new job. Alejandro finds himself growing closer to Angelina but he knows they can only be friends as he learns to deal with the tragedy that changed his life forever. Alejandro ensures he is there as support to both her and her family.

Angelina has a secret he will not share with her family, a secret that only herself and her doctor know. Angelina knows she can never give a man the life he needs. As Angelina and Alejandro spend time together they try to help the other through their crisis they begin to find thing they thought they would never find.

Will Alejandro be able to move on from his past to make a new life? Will Angelina come to grips with her issue to be able to build a life? Will the issues be too much to bear and keep them apart?

There are many characters in this book and each one had their own point of view which at times I found a little confusing as they were all mixed together. All in all though it is a sweet romance full of tragedy and second chances.

12 Hours in Paradise by Kathryn Berla is a young adult romance. This is my first time reading this author and it was a pleasant surprise. This is the story of Dorothy Patmont and Arash Atkinson. Both are in Hawaii and bump into one another thanks to Chester, Dorothy’s brother. It is Dorothy’s last day in Hawaii and Arash is there for a school trip. Her and Arash decide to sneak out of their rooms and meet up to talk and have a romantic adventure.
This is a sweet story of two good teens. They both understand that by sneaking out they are risking getting in trouble. The longer the evening goes the greater the risk of being caught. The two decide to use an app that promises love if they answer thirty-six questions together. The challenge will they finish the questions before getting caught.
The two of them are cute, sweet, and young. The story reminds us you never know when you will meet your love. Also, that one should be open minded. Arash was not the first boy she spotted, but he was the friend. We might not see someone as being perfect for us at the beginning but once the layers are stripped down and we get to know the real person everything can change.
I would recommend this to anyone who needs an uplifting story. I enjoyed the story and longed to find out if the two will finish the questions or will be caught out.

Chi: A Short Story 2 (Under Ground #0.6) by Alice Rachel is part of the Under Ground series. I recommend that you read the previous stories first before this one as you will get a lot of background information on the characters and where they are coming from. This story is a continuation of Chi’s story. You will enjoy how this author has created this story in Chi’s point of view and his perspective on how things are. This is a short story but it will keep you engaged until the end. You will really get to see Chi in this story.

Chi is a twin born into a world where you are only suppose to have one child. Chi’s parents have kept him hidden from the world but that has caused some issues with his twin, Stephen. Stephen almost died from the West Nile virus but that is the point that their relationship took a turn for the worse. All Chi wants is to have a relationship with his brother. He is forced to try and bring his brother back to normal, but will he do it? What will he lose in the process? Will he be able to repair their relationship? Does his brother still care about him? He is a strong character that just wants his brother to love him back. You will find yourself feeling for him as he is not even sure why his brother feels the way he does. He is a fighter and you will enjoy watching him fight for his life.

I have enjoyed each and every installment of this series and I can’t wait to see what comes next and which character we will see their point of view next. Alice Rachel brings her characters to life and keeps you wanting to see more of them. I get hooked with every book I read of hers. Alice loves spending time with her husband and guinea pigs. When she is not writing, she teaches French, reading and drawing. You will find yourself reading this book in one sitting and you won’t be able to put it down until the end. It is a fast paced story that will keep you wanting more from this character. I highly recommend this story as I know you will enjoy Chi’s version as much as I have.
