This book is the second in The Portal Prophecies series and picks up from where the first book left off. Once again we find Willow and her band of friends trying to decipher the prophecies. They are trying to learn what they know, what they need to know and where they should be with learning their strength and weaknesses. After one of their friends goes missing Willow and her best friends have learnt through one their powers just what one of the prophecies means. They discover that he is in danger and they need to go after him now. After trials and tribulation, lies and deceit they finally find Mike. After they return they learn more and more around them is not what it seems. They set about trying to help those that have been torn from their homes and worlds, those that have been misunderstood.

Halloween is fast approaching, prophecies are proving hard to decipher and friends are not what they seem. Willow is approached by a Witch who is also a Gypsy. She speaks words that make no sense and can only be a prophecy. This leads to a hunt to find out who this woman is and what she is trying to say. What they find only leads to more questions, more mystery and more unknown. They also find a betrayal that was in the works long before they arrived and yet leads them closer to danger. They evil, King Cornelius and his family are still searching and destroying world not realising that what they seek is closer than they realise.

As Halloween is no upon them they must race against time to save not only their friends but those who live with magic, come from different worlds, but they must save themselves. In doing so they discover an unlikely alliance.

Will they be able to get to their friends in time? Will they be able to stop the evil? Will they help one who is an enemy?

This story as with the first was filled with different worlds magic, adventure and different creatures and beings. Each character has their own story and I recommend this to anyone who enjoys reading anything paranormal, supernatural and fantasy.

Alexia Maria Garda-Martinez has always felt different, has always been different. That difference being pale skin, red hair and red eyes because of this she has always been looked at differently, especially because of the eyes. Alexia spent years in the foster system never knowing who her parents were or where she came from. She was given a home with a nice loving family, she has a job and is studying something she loves and has the best friend she could ever hope to have, that is like her sister, Mindy. All she needed was someone to love.

Devon Waters and his twin brother, Cam did not have the best childhood which caused Devon to flee from his home in Montville, New York. He was found by people he now calls family who helped him find his true self. Devon decides that it’s time for him to make amends with his brother and heads back to Montville. After being discovered at a gruesome murder scene he is reunited with his brother, who is a detective in the local police department. Cam is having trouble reconciling his feelings for a brother who left him behind but Devon doesn’t plan on leaving any time soon.

Alexia, Mindy and Cam find themselves in the middle of strange occurrences, murder and mayhem. They all have secrets that will leave them questioning just who and what they are. With Devon’s help they begin to understand just what they are up against. They discover there are many things in the world that good and evil, light and dark, friend and foe. The worst they discover is the Skrom who live by drinking blood, they became dark souls, Shadows. They have no respect for life, they take what they want, they are Death. They discover the Shadows now in their town and this leads to a battle that needs them to join forces to stop the evil taking over and destroying what they have come to love.

But who can they trust? Who is friend and who is foe? Will they be able to deal with who they are in time to fight this battle? Will love be enough to hold them together or will the darkness inside be too much to bear?

I enjoyed this story of murder, mystery and mayhem. Fantasy and paranormal in abundance. If you like paranormal romance then this is the book for you.

Hudson has come face to face with his lost love, the woman that was his life until she was stolen away from him by one of his best friends. He will do anything for this woman but at what cost to himself?

Olivia has lost her husband, can not care for herself, has nowhere to live and now has to deal with the man who ruined her life. Hudson has offered his parents beach house for her to recuperate and heal. The one place she always felt at home and provides comfort. As Olivia is healing she starts to find information that leads her to find that her life as she knew it was a lie. The one person she blamed for stealing what should have been hers, who was her enemy is the one person she must learn to trust and make amends.

Olivia believes that working helps her get her life back on track. Hudson offers Olivia a job and she helping him and his staff with humanitarian work, something they dreamed about when they were younger. Olivia finds herself looking back at those dreams and finds she wants more but in order to fully heal she must make peace with the past, and to make peace with the past she must forgive the man who was once her best friend.

Can Olivia make peace with the past and the men she has learned the truth about? Can Olivia forgive the man who kept her away. Will Olivia find the secrets the man she thought she knew has kept from her? Will Hudson be able to walk away again and leave the woman he loves? Will there be a future for Hudson and Olivia? What will bring them together or tear them apart? Will Hudson make his dreams come true and do what he wants so badly, what he has been spending his life trying to achieve?

This is a sad but sweet story and one you will enjoy.

Sophie Gallo had lost a lot in her life, she had lost her mother young in life and now her father which had shattered her heart. And with the loss of her father came the loss of her dreams. Sophie had always had a crush on Luke and she wanted him bed. When that became a reality she felt alive once more one night of wild passion and the best sex of her life but that feeling was short lived when the man of the hour got cold feet and ran. Unfortunately she had to see him everyday after all they worked together and it was pure torture. Sophie has nothing but anger and a good dose of hatred for the man who left her that one night.

One terrifying night all seems hopeless, one night of uncertainty, one night when all could be lost.

I enjoyed this story it was short but intense, sweet with lots of passion. You will enjoy as well.

Issac is one of New York City’s most eligible bachelors. He is also one extremely very fine and very handsome man who just happens to be the CEO of a pharmaceutical company. But beyond that he is not human, he is immortal. After a fateful meeting, he is left mesmerised by one sassy and beautiful blonde. His favourite type of woman. A beautiful creature that has no idea what she is or what she is capable of. Issac offers Stas a proposition one she can’t say no to. With Issac by her side Stas is introduced to a world of supernatural beings, passion and a choice of a different life.

But who can she trust? When foes become friends and friends become foes Stats has to learn to trust one side but which side is that? Will Stas finally find the answer to all her questions? Will Stas find out just what she is? Will Issac find the one thing he didn’t know he was looking for? Will evil triumph over good? Can Issac love someone he is supposed to hate?

With lots of twists and turns this is a unique and complicated paranormal world that is fascinating and keeps you thoroughly engaged from start to finish. I enjoyed Isaac and Stas’ story and can not wait for the next book in the series. This is definitely a must read.

Willow and her friends live in an ancient world where the authorities keep everything in check everything in control. Where the people have had their own growth and being stunted. The authorities have condemned the reading of books, restricted the knowledge and learning of what they were, what they are and what they can do. There is a definite line between privilege, wealth and sense of self worth. But as they get older, as they come of age they begin to discover and learn things about themselves and that of the world around them. Of things that they never thought was real or possible. The one thing they do have is a trust of themselves and of those closest to them.

The Authorities have kept the secret of prophecies and what it may mean for their world. They believe that the barriers to the portals to other worlds that ancient guardians put up is enough to keep them safe from the dangers those other worlds may pose. But they couldn’t be more wrong as evil has found ways to tear holes in the barriers and travel between worlds destroying everything and everyone in their path.

As Willow and a small group prepare to flee their world before the evil who just invaded can destroy them, they find a book of prophecies.What they find is a world full of wonder and things they never could have dreamed. A world full of creatures and beings that they thought were only in stories. They find a world where holes appear randomly and only a few are left as protectors of the portals.

Will they learn to live on this new world? Can they learn to trust in the new world and more importantly in themselves. Will they be able decode the prophecies and the mysteries surrounding them? Will they be able stop their enemies and stop the evil from invading? Will they make unlikely friends?

This is one book for anyone who enjoys reading fantasy stories. It is full of different worlds and magical creatures and beings. Full of the unknown, of evil versus good. The characters are full of belief, hope and wonder.

After love and patience she is pulling her life together. Amy Flanders has decided to throw herself into what she loves best and turn it into a business dedicated to training and caring for not only her horses but for horses that need love and nurturing and time to mend. After a stressful day Amy finds herself left alone at a pub after being cancelled on, that is until a handsome stranger steps through the door.

Brock Baisdin spends his time working his own business and for the most part enjoys it but something is missing. After stepping through the door of the pub he is instantly drawn to the blue eyed beauty sitting by herself. After learning she has been left alone Brock decides to step in and help her out because he wants to get to know this woman. After a great time and no longer being able to contain their attraction they find themselves in each other’s arms.

Amy finds herself trying to reconcile her feelings from the past and feelings for a possible future. Brock knows what he wants and he wants to be the man that Amy Flanders can love again. He wants to be the man to see her smile and find her love of life again.

Will Amy be able to put her past behind her? Will Amy let go of her fears? Will Brock be able to show her how to love again? Will Amy lose her second chance at love?

This is a sad and yet beautiful story of love and loss. Of overcoming fears to put yourself out there for another chance at love. This book will make you cry and is full of so many emotions, at times I wanted to slap sense into people but could not stop reading. You know it’s a good story when you get emotionally involved. I can’t recommend this book highly enough. Grab, read and enjoy. Oh and don’t forget tissues.

her safe from the harsh dangerous jungle she now finds herself in. Marley finds the Colonel constantly in her thoughts but she can’t let that happen, she has to focus on staying alive. The Colonel finds himself drawn to the sassy, smart and independent woman but he can’t let that distract him, he has to keep her alive. But trust does not come easy, it has to be earnt and betrayal in more ways than one
seem to be the name of the game.

With the enemy all around them the team find them in a game of kill or be killed, but can they survive? Will betrayal be too much for them to bear? Will they lose each other before they get to know each other? Will Mankel’s evil be too much for the team? Will Marley make it home to her daughter?

If you love military romance you will love this book. There is lots of action, passion, intrigue, suspense and twists and turns that will keep you thoroughly enthralled. Loved the book it is right up there with my favorites.

Things Rayne has not felt in years and it is currently testing her love, loyalty and especially the vow she made and the promise that she made to keep that vow. Rayne doesn’t know how to let go of the past and be able to move on with the future.

Vaughn Morris has a love for tattooing and he is good at it. He has only ever wanted a normal life, whatever that is. He has now returned to his home town but along with it comes the most extremely painful reminders of his past and lost youth. A past that has caused scars so deep in his soul that he is unable to fully live that is until he meets Rayne. Vaughn doesn’t know how to love but he knows what he wants and that means Rayne, any how any way he can get her. The idea of relationships and love is one foreign concept.

Can Vaughn and Rayne just be friends? Can they get over their past to have a future? Will they fight for each other? Will honesty keep them apart? Will they find their happily ever after? Will Rayne realise what has held her back? Will Vaughn finally be free when the past is no longer a threat? Will those who love Rayne the best help her to get her life back on track or will they keep her in the past?

This story is well written and about how two people fall in love and learn that some people are just as necessary as the air they breathe. It pulls on your heart strings to see what these two young people have had to endure in their past but can over come for the one they love when they truly let go.

Sylvie Stewart just has the knack for writing great romantic comedy. Book one was just the best and this one is just as good.

Fiona Pierce has loving and devoted parents but she feels obligated to do the right thing when they ask. She has great friends and she is fiercely loyal to her best friend Laney but she hides a secret from her past that she doesn’t want to share. Fiona has a huge heart and she will do anything she can for anyone she holds dear. Fiona loves the finer things in life especially the gods of clothes and shoes. Everyone just loves this quirky lovable woman except for one man. One man that finds her totally annoying who she just loves to push his buttons. She doesn’t do relationships but there is one man she loves to hate.

Mark Beckett loves women but never more than once that way there is absolutely no complications in his life. Between work, women and the gym he is happy with his lot in life, all except his past. A past that he would like to forget. A past that is now back to haunt him and his family and turn it on his head. Not only having to deal with his past he has to deal with a meddling do gooder that he loves to hate.

Can Mark and Fiona overcome their past and their fears and learn to put their trust in the one person that may understand them more than they know? Will love be found in the most unlikely places?

As with book one this book had me laughing out loud at the banter between all the characters, but especially between Mark and Fiona. I also love Fiona’s internal dialogue it is absolutely hilarious. The Spark is full of fun, intrigue, love, laughter and is 100 percent pure entertainment. I love the way Sylvie brings her characters to life and makes you feel you are a part of their lives. I highly recommend this book to one and all and can guarantee you will not be disappointed

Just WOW. I have to say that I have not enjoyed a book as much as this one in a long time. Sylvie Stewart has hit it with this perfectly blended quirky romantic comedy.

Laney Monroe is a twenty five year old single mum who is working in a job that she finds unfulfilling but it pays the bills and keeps a roof over her head. She has her best friend Fiona would do anything for her, who is always there for her and will never let her down. She shares her house with her five year old son Rocco who is just your typical little boy and her brother Gavin. After having a bad few years Gavin finally finds a job and Laney counts her blessing. After a family emergency Nate Murphy has returned home. Along with his sister it’s a no brainer they take the reins for their family business. But it may be a little more than they thought. When Nate faces off against one sassy and spunky Laney Monroe his life is forever changed. Family is everything.

Does Nate find something he wasn’t looking for? Will Gavin finally find his way? Will Laney and Rocco find a new beginning?

I was literally laughing until I was crying with this book. I was so wrapped up in the book that before I knew it it had ended. Laney is absolutely hilarious and had me laughing out loud at every turn. Her best friend Fiona is just as much a crack up as Laney but the two together are one hell of a team. The story is well paced and the characters are well developed, honest and very realistic that I could totally relate to. The Fix is funny and witty and will definitely leave you with a light heart and a smile on your face. If you are looking for a great story full of drama, romance, love and laughter then look no further. The story is so refreshing that I can not wait to read The Spark and I see what Sylvie comes up with next.

Gwen wants love in her life but it’s easier said than done. After years of giving love to the one, he took it and never gave it back, did he? All he did was hurt her in more ways than one. Gwen was never good enough for him or his family, he thought she was worthless and made her believe it. He degraded her because he could. But Gwen stayed because she thought it was love, wasn’t it? She did not know any different, she had been told it her entire life. She has been destroyed. She holds a secret she has never told anyone.

Hawkins was in the military forces but now he has a good job in security. He is good at his job and will do whatever it takes to keep others safe. But a failure from his past continues to torment him. If he closes his eyes he is haunted everyday by a horror he can not forget. He has sworn to one day make it right. He worries that it could happen to those he loves and cares about but he would die before that happens, he could not live with himself if it happened.

Will Gwen find love? Can she live with all that has happened in her life, or will it finally break her? Can she trust? Can Hawkins put his past behind him? Can he finally start to enjoy love? Will Hawkins throw it all away?

Gwen is such a strong, brave and beautiful person. You can not help feeling for her for all she has had to endure. All she has ever wanted is to be loved and I wanted to take her home and make it all better. Hawkins is the man, although he comes across a little too strong at times but he truly is a good man who loves hard and fast and is also one sexy man. He knows what he wants and goes after it. This is a great story. I recommend reading this captivating story. I definitely want to read more from this author.

Dean Morello and Coriander Phillips have been friends for twenty years. Friends ever since their very first meeting. A chance meeting in the school playground when she punched him after he pulled her hair. They are the best of friends and have been inseparable all this time. She is the Ying to his Yang. He his her boy friend. Not to be mistaken with boyfriend. She needs advice, no problem he is there. She needs a shoulder to cry on he’s her man. She needs a hug, no problem. She is one of the guys, she is fun, loving, loyal, a free spirit, heart of gold and smoking hot but they are just friends, a purely platonic relationship. Until it’s not.

Dean is having trouble with what he feels. Feelings he has never felt before. Feelings that are as strange as they are complicated and conflicting. He is now seeing one of his best friends is a different light. Dean finds himself thinking about more than a best friend should. He wants Coriander as more than the boy friend, he wants to be the boyfriend. He only has one problem he has to show her they can be more than friends.

As the book says “According to the law of attraction, women and men can’t be friends”.

Will Dean reconcile his feelings in time? Will Dean break her heart? Will Dean lose the best thing he never knew he wanted? Will he confess all before it is too late? Is Coriander willing to step over the proverbial line from best friends to lovers?

I really enjoyed this story. It was told by the male point of view in a very unique and clever way. I found myself constantly laughing at the things he said, thought and did, typical man stud. There were however a few moments when I wanted to slap him into gear. If you are looking for a little comedic romance then no need to look any further. Mika is a very clever story teller. This is definitely a hit, I can’t wait to read more of her work.

Scottlyn Marks is definitely having the worst day from hell, it is one she will never be able to recover from. She finds herself at the one place in the world she loves, the beach, but today it doesn’t sooth her. She is trying to make sense of her life after being given the worst possible news ever. When she is approached by a stranger, little do either of them know that this one action would change their lives forever.

Mason Shaw stumbles across a beautiful woman who is sitting all alone on the beach. But why is she crying? For some reason he can not seem to walk away from her. After pouring her heart out to him she walks away but Mason can not let her go, never wants to let her go. After this simple meeting he falls hard for this one woman and wants her in his life forever.

Both finally finding their first love, they have finally begun to live but he soon finds out she only has months to live. Scotti struggles with loving him knowing that she is going to be leaving him. She struggles for the injustice that brought them together at this time in her life. Mason struggles with what will come after she is gone. He vows to take it one day at a time.

Can both Scotti and Mason make some sort of peace and come to terms with this horrible disease that will tear them apart? Will Mason be able to live without Scottie? Will Mason let her go? Is Mason prepared to say goodbye?

This is a beautiful, yet extremely emotional rollercoaster of a story. It is a story of two people who finally find one another, find first time love only to have it taken away too soon. Trust me when I say you are going to need a box of tissues just to get through this book. Michelle has woven a magical, beautiful story that is absolutely tragically heart wrenching. OMG Your heart and soul is with these characters with every step of their journey.

Boyce “BC” Brooks messed up and lost everything, his lifelong dream of being the captain of a national rugby team is no longer a reality. He finds himself the innkeeper of a little place in Cornwall left to him by his uncle. But is he happy? He has his friends but not a relationship, not that he does relationships, does he?

BC and Graham meet and slowly find themselves in a relationship without the other realising how it happened. Their relationship is full of humour, laughter and love. They also find themselves having to deal with an illness that no one saw coming and that will change their lives forever.

Can they put aside their pasts and move on? Can they survive the trials of a terrible illness? Will they find lasting love? Will BC find new dreams? Will Graham return to the life he loves? Is there new adventures around the corner? Will home be enough?

I found myself laughing out loud at BC’s and Graham’s antics and found myself in tears whilst taking the tough road with them. I loved their banter with each other and that with the other characters. It is truly engaging and fun to read but at the same time so tender and sweet. It is a beautiful story that definitely pulls on your heart. You will not want to put it down. This is a must read and I look forward to reading more from this author.

Darcy and Alec are normal teenagers who are enjoying their life, enjoying falling in love and looking forward to their future together and wherever life takes them. However on a nice night out they never expected their lives to change in the blink of an eye but that is exactly what happened. That was the night when strange lights began streaking across the sky, like a meteor storm and came crashing to the ground. Mayhem came with them and from them came creatures that infected the human race changing them into soulless cannibals, animals causing death and destruction in their wake.

In that one night they lost everything single thing except for a hand full of those closest to her, her younger sister, her best friend, the dog and Alec’s alcoholic father. After deciding that they could no longer stay where they were as it was no longer safe, they packed up and headed off to try to find a safer haven. After many long days and terrifying nights they find themselves in front of a place they could maybe finally make their new home. A place where hopefully the vile creatures would not stumble upon any time in the near future.

What happens when the world is no longer one you recognise? Have they found a safe place? How will they learn to survive? Will they survive themselves let alone the creatures? Will the world ever recover? Do they find more than they bargained for? What happens when the threat is now closer to home than they thought? What happens when the evil looks just like your family, your friends the one you love?

This book is for Young Adults with a hankering for Sci Fi, Zombies, bloodshed, chaos, action packed, with a little hope and romance. It is a book about survival and just how far you are willing to go to ensure that the ones you love are safe. It has an ended that no one sees coming. To me this book is similar to the Walking Dead, so if you enjoy that you will enjoy this.

Andrew Huckley has been secretly in love with Neely McIntire his whole life. He has tried to get his hands on Neely for so many years and she has always said no to this very strange and creepy boy and to all his attempts at asking her out. Yet Neely feeling lonely and vulnerable after her fight with Hayden and she finally gives in and finally accepts a dance with him but little does she know she has already become a part of a very sick and evil monster’s plan.

Neely does the one thing no one saw coming and pushes Hayden away from her but he is refusing to give in and throw it all away and won’t, will not stop at nothing to get her back, even if it means the end of the earth.

Will Hayden be able to let the one person he loves go? Will he find the truth and Neely in time to stop the horrors thrust upon her? Will Neely be forever changed? Will Hayden be able to cope with everything going on? Will Hayden be changed forever? Are there really monsters in the world or a world we know nothing about?

This story is definitely original and took me to places I would never have expected in a million years. I have many mixed emotions about the story and the characters but I was unable to put the book down until I knew what happened next. What started as a teenage romance soon turned into a story that definitely left my skin crawling and my heart in my throat every step of the way. If you love paranormal then this book is one you will want to get your hands on.

After being hired, for a handsome sum, to find a curse box, Ulric Dra’Kai a powerful draconian mercenary has spent much time travelling from state to state looking for it. He has been told finding this box will lead him to his ultimate goal. His latest lead is to find one Charlotte Mulligan. Ulric thinks with a little scare he will get the information from her but boy is he wrong. What he finds is a sassy, hard to intimidate individual, one he finds himself drawn to more and more, one who could be his mate, one who he thought he would never find but can it truly happen?

Charlotte along with Ulric finds herself the object of interest and under attack by vampires and into a world she never thought possible, a paranormal world full of supernatural creatures, one that she is apparently a part of. But why are the vampires after her? Can they find the box in time and find themselves safe from the dangers surrounding them? Will they find a way to be together or will this crazy be too much for Charlotte to handle? Can Ulric keep Charlotte safe? Will Charlotte come to terms with all she has learnt and all she can be?

This is one book you will not want to miss. Angela writes a great paranormal story with multiple layers and has you drawn in right from the start. I guarantee you will not be able to put it down. You find yourself drawn to the characters as if they are your friends as they race through every twist and turn. Well worth the read, I thoroughly enjoyed every word. Can’t wait to read more from her.

The story is told by each of the eight individuals giving it a unique touch with lots of twists and turns. This book is a Sci-Fi fantasy and people who like Sci-Fi will enjoy it.

Slowly but surely on this venture Vanessa finds herself on a path of self discovery whilst trying to survive being caught by the enemy and finding and fighting magic. She has also found friendship and love but even they will be tested.

Will Vanessa and the others find what they are looking for? Will Vanessa survive all she needs to in order to stop the evil? Will she survive the struggles of her heart? In the end will they all endure and survive the treacherous journey?

This story is full of twist and turns, ups and downs that you never know what going to happen or just who to trust but is one story you will not want to put down until you know how it all ends.

One look at a photograph of a young girl and he knew he had to take the mission and had to be the one to find her and her beautiful daughter. After many many months of tracking them all over the states and a few close calls, he is closing in. He is going to find them and bring them home whether or not she wants to be found. He will not walk away until they are safely in his care and brought home to their family.

Fallyn Blackwood never had a good home life with her father who was a brutal and inflicted pain and suffering. Fallyn was a young girl who got caught up in something that she never should have gone through. One night that tainted her and changed her life forever and has made her run, never staying in one place too long. She will do anything to save her daughter the anguish and brutality at the hands of powerful evil. Once again she finds herself in another town hiding away and starting over.

Oliver has finally found them but getting close is going to be harder than he thought. Fallyn trusts in no one except herself and her daughter. She is not willing to let this stranger help her being saved is not what she wants. Running is the one thing she knows best.

Will Oliver convince Fallyn to trust him? Will Fallyn finally find peace and comfort? Will the evil finally catch up to her and her daughter?

This is book is the third book in the series and the story just gets better although it will break your heart. Both characters have had so much pain and suffering it is hard not to feel for them. Definitely one you will not be able to put down.

Grayson Blackwood looks like he comes from a model family but looks can be deceiving, secretly he is living a life from hell. His father is a pillar of the community, a wealthy farming man but he hides a dirty secret, he is abusive a trait that was handed down from his father. Grayson and his younger sister are the only ones left at home, his elder sisters managing to break away from the vicious cycle. Grayson has sworn he will never be like his father, he is determined to be a far far better man. Grayson has decided that in order to heal and get away from his father is to to join the forces to fight for himself, his country and everything he holds dear.

Being constantly on the move due to her father’s exploits they find themselves in the town of Lakeview where Ella Anderson is working hard to go to school and work to provide and make ends meet for her family. Ella’s mother is sick and her father is a con artist to name a few but she is determined to help her mother have an easier time as the sickness consumes her. But one thing has never been lacking and that is the love and bond they share.

Grayson has spent seven years serving his country and is a Captain in his special ops team taking out the terrorist cells. But that hasn’t stopped him from thinking about his girl and how she disappeared after the promise to be together for ever. Ella is serving her country as a nurse and has just come face to face with the man she once loved, the one who broke her heart. Ella i trying to live the life she now has but is unable to stop thinking about her past life. Now Grayson has found her again he is determined to never let her get away from him again.

Can they overcome the hurt from the past to be together? Will they be torn apart and lose each other before they have really found each other again? Will the lies and deceit prove too much?

FG writes a good story with a twist you don’t see coming. I found myself rooting for the characters and enjoyed the book from start to finish.

It was at this ceremony that she was touched by the gods and given a curse. A curse that has seen her thrown into and held a prisoner in a deep dark dirt prison. Being touched by a god means she is the Blistered child kept in a dark prison because if she goes into the sunlight she will burn. All she wants is to live with love from her parents and live in a real home as part of a family with her brothers and sisters. Would it be too much to have a family, get to know her siblings and have friends?

Joel is a Spinel and and needs the light to thrive. Joel stumbles upon ancient writings and after many nights studying, he has discovered where the blistered one is meant to be. So after many years he decides he needs to be the one to rescue her so he sets about trying to free her. Joel feels like he will be fulfilling his destiny if he helps Azalee. He must gain her trust and trust is not something she gives freely. But is he trading one prison for another? One hell for another?

As complications arise Joel realises that he should have planned the needs for their adventure a little better than he has. As they journey together they realise all is not what it seems and that a friend is actually a foe. Secrets and lies only prove that Joel’s trust has been severely misplaced. Does Azalee finally find her freedom, friends and love? Will she finally have a family to call her own? Will she finally be free of all the deceit and lies?

This book is an interesting story with a unique mix of Greek mythology and current times. It is full of intrigue, mystery and definite surprises. This story is a fantasy that young adults will love.

Can Keagan and his team put a stop to those they are hunting? Will Keagan be able to put aside his past to move on with his future? Can Keagan save the one he loves before she is taken away forever? Will Keagan be able to learn to trust again? Will Jocelyn ever find her forever or will betrayal cause to much damage?

This story is action packed from the very beginning. There are twists and turns around every corner. I enjoyed the first book in the series and this book was just as good a read

Naomi has finally met one of her adult goals and moved into a beautiful old house built in the 1700’s. Sure the house backs up to a cemetery that borders her property lines but being a writer that should give her inspiration, shouldn’t it? Naomi finally ended a terrible relationship with a guy called Nick and her best friend is setting her up with blind dates, begrudgingly. Arriving at the restaurant Naomi discovers her date is late and when he shows Naomi is less than impressed with him and his self importance. After heading to the bar she orders the same drink as the stranger sitting there and strikes up conversation. Realising she likes this guy they begin spending lots of time together.

When Ryan turns up to Naomi’s house he his blown away by the history not only of the house but the cemetery and surrounding property as well. Naomi has begun to notice strange things happening in her home and her cat Zelda is going crazy. Along with Ryan, Naomi explores the house and the cemetery at the back of her property. It is there that Naomi is drawn to a grave with a headstone that says Maggie T. Field. Naomi sets about finding Maggie’s story and vows to put all the pieces together to help Maggie rest in peace. Naomi soon discovers that the presence in her home and in her dreams needs help. Naomi ever the writer decides that Maggie’s story needs to be told and convinces Ryan to be her partner in crime to help her solve the mystery of what happened to Maggie. As Naomi investigates ​things start to turn dangerous and she starts to wonder just who she can trust and who she can’t and what the real story is. Things she once thought were real may not be so. Can Naomi find the truth and write Maggie’s story finally giving them both closure?

This book is full of twists and turns that will leave you on the edge of your seat and see you right there with Naomi trying to solve Maggie’s mystery. There will be tears so grab the tissues. Mya weaves a hell of a good story and I can’t wait to read the next installment.

Naomi is moving on with her life after her ordeal with Maggie and Ryan and things are looking good. She has the love of a wonderful man, Bryce and his beautiful daughter, Holly, but thanks to her gift it seems yet another ghost wants and demands her attention but this one is full of hate, rage and malice. The visions, the dreams, the thoughts are threatening her in more ways than one. Naomi realises that the only way to get rid of the malevolent being is to try to solve his mystery. Naomi is struggling, it seems like everything is racing out of control and she is losing it. But is she in danger of losing more than her mind? This ghost is really strong and he goes about trying to crush her hopes, her dreams, her future and her very life.

Bryce loves Naomi and would do anything to take away her pain but is finding it increasingly harder to do as she pushes him away. He realises he needs to be there for Naomi now more than ever and he is not willing to let go of the future that he has planned for himself, for his family. With Bryce’s love, support and help Naomi knows she is stronger and that they can get through anything even if it seems like all might be lost. In order to get through this Naomi will find herself questioning everyone and everything she thought she knew, including herself and the evidence brought to light.

Can Naomi withstand the torture of the mind games and physical threats she is enduring? Can she keep Bryce and his daughter, Holly safe? Will Bryce stand by Naomi or will this prove too much for him?

Mya O’Malley has once again written and woven together a great spell binding story. This book is a fantastic paranormal suspense mystery with loads of twists and turns that once again had me on the edge of my seat. This is a must read.

Mary is alone on her farm out in the middle of nowhere, quite a ways from her neighbours. Her brother Michael and farm hand Pete, are away at war god knows where. Being alone she finds herself talking to the only creature around, her cat to keep from feeling so lonely. With time on hers hands she finds herself thinking about the rumors about her mother, in particular those of her mother being a witch. Nothing led her to believe those rumors were true.

When Mary sees the mirror in her bedroom ripple she reaches out thinking to feel the cold surface but what she feels and sees is unbelievable. She sees her twin brother Michael, Mary is not sure how because he is somewhere half a world away on a battlefield in France. After Mary connects with him through the mirror, they both realise that the rumors about their mother could be true, couldn’t they?

When Michael tells Mary he has a bad feeling of things to come, she listens and sets about trying to find ways to help him, to save him. Mary sets out to see if the rumors are true but what she finds is definitely more than she bargained for but without the help she has been offered, she is completely helpless. But what is the price she is willing to pay to save her brother, for the help she is offered?

For a short story I found it intriguing. If you like a quick read and like a little paranormal, then give it a go.

When she stumbles across a stranger who seems to know her but she doesn’t know him, she is forcefully taken off the streets but are they friend or foe? Is her gift really a gift or is it a curse? Is she really in danger, from herself, from something unknown or from those who seek to help?

Jasper finds herself amongst the Order of Vespers, people similar liker her who are trying to maintain the balance of good and evil, light and dark and peace. This has been their task since the beginning of time. Jasper must learn to master her gift to become all she can be, become more than they all know. But time is running out and what was once a safe haven is no more. Those that she now holds dear are at risk from those who seek to destroy.

Who is this group who are after her and other like her? Is Jasper all they thought she is and is she the answer to all their needs? Is she the balance between good and evil, light and dark?
Will they destroy her to become something more? How far will they go to take what they want? Who can she trust?

Jaspers world definitely has many twists and turns and everything is not what it seems. She often had me laughing with her humor and sarcasm but sad for all she had to endure. I enjoyed this book and know you will too. The cliffhanger leaves it open for the next installment, I hope.

Mercy Ledger knows of the horrors, the terrors that Cain has seen. She knows because she has survived her own macabre massacre but one horror has been replaced by another. One she is not sure she will survive this time but is willing to do what it takes, so the one she loves will not suffer any further. She knows no one but them will understand because she is damaged but so is he.

Will Cain hurt one of the people he loves to save just to save another? Will he ever feel free from a past that he can never escape? Will Mercy make the ultimate sacrifice to save one man’s soul?

This book is dark, twisted and bloody but it will keep you riveted by the twists and unknown as the story unfolds. It is heart wrenching to read about two people so broken that you just want to scoop them up and make it all better.
